How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

The usual robo call from a credit card scammer.
Says. Bank of Distraction
WTF? ??????
Says Bank of Distraction
WTF????????
called the # said message complete message 8700
called - left automated voice message regarding how to make money off "new social stimulus bill"
They called 10 am ,I hung up!
This is a standard "press '1' to lower your credit card interest rate scam. In order to make sure that you understand that it is a scam, the message says that it is "related to the 'financial stimulus'".
This weekend, even on Sunday, I was being dunned by these harassing calls! Enough already!
They call a few times a week. This time, instead of hanging up, I pressed 1. The guy who answered hung up as soon as I asked to be taken off the call list. Soooo...I picked a mini-can of compressed air with the obnoxiously loud blaring horn heard at sporting events. The next representative who answers is going to get quite an ear full. Please call!!! :)
Never spoke but called at 10:44 PM
they keep calling but line stays silent whenever I answer.
NO Caller ID, other than just the phone number, NO Answer. NO Answer ... where is the message ... Hence this is a scammer. Call to lan line at 10:49 am (MST)
THey tell you that they are working with your credit card company but when you ask them which credit card issuer they represent they can't tell you. THe Do Not Call List is a joke. Just another useless government program that wastes our money. I have reported many of these types of calls on the FTC web site for the Do Not Call List and yet these companies continue to operate above the law. What really surprises me is that in this day and age with all the warning that are available on scams like this people must still continue to fall for this scam. If they didn't they would not exist. Guess we have a lot of very stupid people in this country.
Perry: The main problem is the credit reprice scammers are very slippery and hard to control. A legit business will take a ''no-call'' demand seriously, but these schemers yawn at laws and may be calling from outside the U.S. and spoofing numbers.
A mass of complaints to various channels has helped the FTC shutter several ''Heathers'' and ''Rachels'' in the past two years. In November one such scam firm in Atlanta was wrecked in federal court, and its principals face jail time, setting a long overdue example.

If you hope for more prompt human assistance, file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general. Individual action through a TCPA lawsuit would be a strong suggestion, if anyone manages to corner one of these scammers long enough.
Go ahead and push the number to talk to them. If a female answers just say "Talk dirty to me baby" and hang up
This is a phishing scam. They call and want your bank account numbers, ostensibly to lower your interest rates (they falsely claim they have spoken to you before). Their call starts with a recording and nobody on the line, which is illegal. If you ask for name, phone number, or address, which they are required to provide when asked, they hang up. Of course, 100% of legitimate businesses would gladly provide you with that information, and would not have to be required to provide this information. On top of all this, if this isn't enough to demonstrate that they are not operating in good faith, they call numbers on the don not call list.
Another 'Credit Card Services' phishing scam. I get these calls multiple times a week. I'm so furious but don't know where to turn. I'm on the Do Not Call list, but that doesn't matter. It's become a joke. Why aren't these "companies" being prosecuted??? They should be prosecuted for violating the DNC at the very least, and ideally for fraud.
left partial message on voice mail. something about this is my last call about lowering interest rates or something. I refuse to answer. Stinking do not call list really doesn't matter does it?
SUPER SCAMMER. LISTED ON MORE THAN ONE DNC SITE
"Credit Card Services" trying to scam you out of money. Do not bother talking to them. If you ask to be removed from their list they will either hang up on you or spout off a series of profanities at you. They are crooks and they cannot be stopped. It's a waste to report them, because they will continue to call from a different number each time. I have been harassed by these people for over a year now. It never ends. I have reported at least 12 different numbers they've used to solicit. It's the same thing each time...they "warn" you this is the last chance to lower your rates. They will try to get as much personal information from you as possible. Their "scam" is obviously working on some poor souls out there because if it wasn't working, I'd imagine they'd stop. It disgusts me to think of who is out there giving out their personal information and in turn, getting scammed. These vile scum need to be stopped somehow. Because I realize these calls will never end, and because I have been dealing with this harassment for over a year, I just try to accept the fact my phone will ring at least a few times a week from these jerks, so I make the best of it.......I usually press 1 to speak to a representative, then I tell them to "hold on" while I find my credit card. Then I set the phone down and go about my business. Not sure how long the idiots stay on hold waiting for me to return, but I figure if I keep them on the phone for even a short amount of time, well that's less time they can have to try and scam someone else.
I am so tired of this number! I answered it, hit 1 to talk to someone. Female said "are you calling to lower interest rate." Told her NO, remove my number, and the B, hung up on me. Gooing to report to our AG office. He probably won't do anything. Do Not Call list is a joke too. Have reported several violations, and only get a letter saying 'no action will be taken'. Great job...NOT!!!!
This call is too funny.I have NO credit cards...not a one............
I've finally filed a complaint with the FCC (fcc.gov). Same story as everyone else...calling both my home and cell numbers which are on the Do Not Call list. Hang up on me every time I tell them to stop calling. My current credit card interest rate is 0%...they can't beat that unless they want to pay me!
Called many times and when I finally get thru to yell at someone it hangs up. When I call back it sounds like a fax number.
Card scam. Vague message account services.
Recorded message,Told me that this was my last chance to lower my credit card interest rates. I don't own a credit card.
Offer to lower credit card which I don't need. (Nothing wrong with my credit or my credit cards, so what makes them think I need their services?) Ask to have my name removed from list. Operator went about beginning her "dialog", I said I just want my number removed from your calling list. She hung up on me. If you call the # back, it seems to be some kind of fax #. Companys like that are just plain cowards. If you have a legitament business you would not send recorded messages, AND you would have a # to call and speak to a person. Cowards....all of them.
This number calls a lot and wants me to press 1 to speak to someone about stimulous money changing my credit card rates. I'm on the Do Not Call List and this one sounds very much like a phishing scam, as they never name a bank.
They just called my home number and less than 15min. later called my cell phone number. How can they call two completely unrelated phone numbers within minutes of each other? Since both are on the do not call list, one must conclude that they are using the do not call list to call people instead of not calling them. Couldn't be more criminal. Luckily both home and cell phone are already set up to block these calls so I didn't have to hear them ring but I saw them in both caller ID history logs. So suck it jerks, you're not gonna get me! Bought this for my home years ago and it was worth it's weight in solid gold. interceptorid.com It blocks any calls you program it to, even ones your phone company won't. I have all toll-free numbers set to be ignored straight to voicemail. I never hear them ring. Same for any other tele-stalkers that call. They may get through once, but then they're blacklisted and never to be heard from again. You will thank yourself for getting one, trust me. Go back to quiet time, no phone ringing with tele-stalkers!
I now push talk and then immediately disconnect the call - that way they get charged but I don't have to listen to their garbage. I'm thinking about just taking the phone off the hook for a month to stop the ridiculous calls about "helping with my interest rates". I am so sick of these people!!
Returned the 800 call. Undoubtedly a robocall because there was a series of high-pitched sounds rather than an answer machine. After holding the sounds on line for 30 seconds, a male voice says the call has been completed, Message 8700. Since it costs whoever is doing these 800 calls, I have no problem deducting whatever from their supposed bottom line.
