How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Haven't talked to them yet... they are calling at least twice a day, sometimes as late as 9:30 at night.
Virginia Firefighters association hired "Zintel" to do their phone donations.
This place called me today and told me they had financial records which apparently is public record in front of them when I told them I could not afford to donate. I contacted the real Vffa, and complained. The gentleman told me they hired them and would look into it. Maybe the police also use them. The firefighters assoc number is 800-354-6968.
I just received a call from 757.990.8969. It rang twice, I picked up (which I normally don't do for numbers I don't know, but I have been getting all kinds of annoying calls like this lately.)
When I picked up, they hung up.
I don't know who this is. I do not answer any call that I do not recognize. There was also no message left, not even mechanical or recorded.
I, just recently got the phone call from this number inreference of some kind of debt. I certalnly have had difficulty understanding the person I talked to because they seems to be indian (dotted ones), and their english was just very hard to understand. Their calls are just so annoying and also i think its harrasment as well.
Some People just need to get a real job...

I get calls from this number multiple times every weekday even though my number is registered on the DO NOT CALL LIST. The caller never leaves a message. This is incredibly annoying and at this point I consider it harrassment.
Just gotr a call from this 757 990 8985 number...I would like to know if this is from a charity thingy looking for donations for the police dept, or whatever..can we sue them for haressment? Is there a do not call list for these charites/or beggers/haressers? IF not I would like to know why not. Everytime over the years I got calls especially from the garbage about the cops/state cops funds...they get pushy, and nasty. I think we should be able to sue them for this ...
The recording also provided another number for the customer service (1-800-594-4246). The customer service line was automated and it provided an automated Do Not Call option which I turned on. They used Caller ID to record the number to not be called as long as your number is not blocked. Will see if this works.
Answered phone and said "hello" 4-5 times before a young man came on the line laughing and calling me by an incorrect name. Asked about their phone list as I've had listed number for five years and person only apologized and said "maybe you can help me". When he was pressed on this issue he hung up. Called number back and received a recording concerning donations to police/sheriff's fund. Called local PD and they advised they don't participate in telephone solicitation calls.
If you dial a 1 757-990-8985 you will find that this number belongs to the some group that want you to donate money to the police fund of some sort.
This number calls periodically and only rings two or three times. Messages are never left.
