Called me 5-23-13. do not answer. Some kind of charity. Bogus I think. Do not answer.

I answered as "Domino's Pizza" and they hung up on me. hope they took my number off their list.

Got a call from these people. Did not answer since I know what they want. If they claim that your contribution is tax deductible ask them what their 501C (tax deductible #) is. Bet they can't provide it.

Not rated as Valid Charity by the BBB.org. Suggest you read their website first!

Beggars!!

I answered the phone; listened to their pitch. When I told him that I contribute ONLY to my local police dept, w/o a word,he hung up on me. My first thought - SCAM!!!

Just a few minutes after receiving a call from this number... which we let the answer machine handle and they immediately hung up ... we received another call from 260-317-2469 - "name unavailable." We're on the national and state Do Not Call lists; if they persist, from either number, we will report.

I tried out something new on these morons that I hadn't done before. I could see from caller id who it was so, I just picked up and said "State Police - Fraud Division." They couldn't hang up fast enough. *L*

Left no message.

The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call. Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

My Mother in Law just recieved a call. The guy went on about how they were raising money, and my MIL told him they couldn't contribute but that her son was a police officer in another county. He QUICKLY hung up. Hrm, sounds legit to me NOT!

Could be a scam!

2011-05-17 18:11:47 UTCTed

No message. Just another scumbag chummin.

2011-04-13 00:44:48 UTCJB

Another bottom feeder. Charity rip off. Add to your block calls.

2011-03-22 21:25:19 UTCKKK

Asses claiming to be helping pigs, get rude if you say no! Screw them.

2011-02-25 23:00:14 UTCJC

Only let phone ring 3X - wouldn't have answered anyway. Now have it set so answering machine is not on from time I get home to time I go to bed. Funny thing - none of these bottom feeders like it when they can't hang up on an answering machine! Plus it wastes a few more seconds of their time.

2011-02-11 22:57:07 UTCMr T

POL PROT FUND. So what do they do?

2010-12-11 15:53:30 UTCde Hat

Police Protective Fund. Used to call from phone number supposedly in VA, now it's Florida, but the company is based in California. And the same old story, the number is disconnected. Charity Navigator rates them 1 out of 4 stars.

this guy say;s THAT'S EXTORTION! WHAT THE HELL? then the call back # says not in service

2010-12-07 00:58:26 UTCKat

Caller ID said Police Pro Fund, so I figured it was a scam charity with little of the money going to what they claim it will, so I didn't bother to answer. Looks from the responses below that I was right.

2010-10-01 00:55:33 UTCKat

Caller ID said Police Pro Fund, but they hung up before I even answered the phone. They won't get me to answer to that number again.

2010-09-13 20:18:29 UTCbb

Said it was the "police protection fund". They SAY most money goes to the actual charity but everything I read seems to indicate they do alot to cover their tracks in how they use the money. They seem very prepared to say that they are tax exempt and when I asked what % goes to the charity the guy said close to all of it (usually they will sheepishly tell you that 15% goes to the charity and 85% to the fund raising company). I suspect this is what they do but having been thumped on for this, they are hiding what they really are.

2010-09-07 20:48:26 UTCKay S.

Caller I.D. indicated Pol Prot Fund. Sounds similar to another caller from the same area code "supposedly' asking for money for police widows, etc. They were RUDE and cursed me when I told them I was out of work. I reported them to the FTC. This call I ignored as I didn't want to get cursed out again. They left no message. I will report them to the FTC too. We are on the Do Not Call list so I don't know why these scammers are calling me. They sure the heck are not going to get any money from me! The jerks.

the caller called my home and called me nigger nigger

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
