I work for Consumer Sales Solutions as a customer service representative, and although I do understand many people's frustration with unsolicited calls I wanted to say that CSS does offer a very legitimate service. CSS is a call center for numerous natural gas and electricity suppliers throughout the united states. We are calling you to offer you the option of receiving your natural gas and/or electricity at a different and often times significantly lower price than your utility company charges you. Many times the prices that we are offering you are GUARANTEED to be certain percentages less than the price your utility company charges. Does anybody think that the price your utility company charges you is the best price available? Deregulation everybody! The whole point behind Utility deregulation was to create a comnpetitive energy market that would ultimately result in pushing the cost of natural gas and electricity downard for consumers. Your utility company actually ENCOURAGES ITS CUSTOMERS TO EXPLORE THE OPTION OF RECEIVING THEIR ENERGY THROUGH THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS LIKE THE ONES THAT CSS REPRESENTS! Just look on your utility company's website! All of the companies that CSS represents are authorized and licensed suppliers in YOUR UTILITY COMPANY'S CUSTOMER CHOICE PROGRAM, programs that are the end result of utility deregulation. I've found that many people are so jaded and suspicious of telemarketers that they often won't allow themselves to hear a good deal when it's presented to them. Next time before you hang up allow yourself to be open to a good deal. And for the people who think we are hanging up on you, we are not. The calls are made through an automatic dialer and sometimes it takes a second or two before the call is transferred to a customer service rep. So when you answer and say "hello" you don't hear a response and assume we've hung up on you, so you hang up. Then we get the call and say "hello" and you've already disconnected.

These people have called several times to my business. When I answer "Cedar Mountain Winery" they hang up. They have not yet called my home phone.

Received call, answered call, caller hung up. If your number is registered on the National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov) file a complaint.

Girl called, called me a liar and hung up. I called this number back ((727) 733-8700), and although it does say "Customer Service", if you are persistent (and I am) you will find that there are many extensions at this phone number and that if you continue to punch in extension numbers you will get everyone's name as well when they announce it in their voice mail. Here is a short list to start. Maybe we can look them up and get their home numbers like they got ours...wonder if they like being annoyed at home any more than we do?

Asked to talk to the person that handles the electric accounts in Maryland. This must be some type of sales. Because they are NOT one of our vendors, though they tried to pretend that they are the compnay that we pay our bill thru. They got a voicemail and wouldn't leave a message.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
