Who Called Us

i have been getting multiple calls daily from this number. quite annoying and i don't answer them

Someone called from this number claiming to be from "Travel Life" and asked for my buddy by name. When i asked what it is in reference to, she asked for him again, and then when i told her that she could either tell me what is in reference to or remove my number from their mailing list, she promptly hung up the phone.

This number has called me on a couple of occasions. I've noticed that they seem to call (with my bank information) every time I order something from Amazon.com with my checking account. When asked how they received my information,they respond "you made a purchase with one of our business affiliates.
The first time they called they said I won something and eventually asked me if I was at least 21. When I told them no, they asked if I knew someone that I could "pass the prize to".
The second time they told me that If I reviewed their travel packet, they would give me $400 in airline vouchers. The conversation went something like this:

Me: ...so what airlines are these vouchers good for?
Douchebag: They're good for most major airli-
Me: Yo already said that; can you tell me which ones?
Douchebag: Several major ones.
Me: You mean you don't know which airlines I can use the vouchers?
Douchebag: I just don't want to give you any false information, blah blah blah...

After a few more minutes of that, he gets his manager who tells me the exact same thing.
Well, what I was really getting at was this: THESE ASSHOLE ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU.

My daughter recived a call from this number they claimed she had won a vacation and all they needed to do was varify her banks routing number they claimed to already have the info they just wanted her to confirm it. the last 5 digits of the routing number were wrong of course the first four numbers of the routing number are common to the area. so she gives them the correct routing number and then they tell her they also have the next series of numbers on the bottom of her check ( the account number ) and could she read them off to make sure they are correct. She told them to read off the numbers they had and she would tell them if they were the same of course they were not and she told them that the numbers they had were wrong. then they wanted her to give them the correct numbers thats when she thought this may be a scam and hung up on them. they have not called back as of yet but have told her to tell them if they call back not to ever call her again. please tell anyone you know not to take there calls these people are scum these people are the scum that scum scrapes off the bottom of there shoes!!!!!! real bottom feeders

I received several calls from this number in the last week. When I did answer it was the same story, asking for cc and bank #'s. Local police have done nothing. HOWEVER THE FBI WERE EAGER TO TAKE A REPORT, I SUGGEST FUTURE REPORTS ARE SENT TO THE FEDS

I received numerous calls from this number but never picked up. Thanks to this forum I learned who it was. I no longer receive calls from them, one word did it. Airhorn!! Blasted the guy, they never called back....Satisfaction

They knew my name which was weird, and they told me that they were sending me a $400 voucher for an airflight anywhere I wanted plus 3 days 2 nights at a hotel. All I needed was a checking account. It kind of freaked me out because they knew my address too. Who are these people. When I told them I didn't have a checking account they told me they would call me back.

THEY CALL SAYING YOU HAVE WON SOME LOTTERY AND YOU GET FREE MAGAZINES. THEN THEY ASK FOR CREDIT CARD NUMBER FOR VERIFICATION

how do i make them stop calling?

they kept call my number several times in a row but no one was there when I picked up handset. They may use so called priority dialer technique to call several numbers at same time and get the one who answer the phone first.

I get this call about 3 times a day but no one ever says anything when I answer. I finally called the number back and got a recording. Listened long enough and it gave me an option to remove my number. I'll update in a few days to let you all know if they really did remove it! They said it would take 24 hours.

Same as every one else - several calls a day, no message.

I received a call from this number today.

They called me at work three or four times this week. I finally called and told them to put me on the Do not call list. She apologized repeatedly and removed me.

these people are like an annoying friend, you know like the friend that calls consistently but never leaves a message so all you get is 4 missed calls but no idea why.

well they called once in september of 06 and i looked it up but found nothing. Then just about two or three weeks ago, they called again while i was in school (i'm a highschool student) so i told them that i couldn't talk sense then they have called for the past two weeks, probably once or twice a day

i got several unknow phone calls recently.

I get calls like this almost everyday. They dont' leave a message. They just continue to call.

I am called at least twice a day by 727-683-1116 and also 727-683-1107. This has been going on since we got our phone 2 months ago and hadn't given out our number. This is very annoying.

They wanted to know my address and my postal zip code so that they can send me a check for$400.00
for me to use in any airline or Hotel.
What a Scam!!!

Said that they nneded to verify routing # on checking acct to send us free airline vouchers and vacation vouchers. SCAM

Received call today. Didn't recognize number so I Googled it and learned of the scams. They do not leave a message.

They have called using both this number and 727-683-1107. I have recieved 7 calls from them in the past four days. They never leave a message and I refuse to answer the phone.

i answered it in the middle of class thinking it would be someone i know, and no one responded it was weird

This number has called me almost every day in the past couple weeks. They wanted my bank account number to verify that I was the right person to send free travel stuff to. I read online that they were a scam.

The problem with this phone number is that someone will continually, daily, call and ask for a Ms. Campbell. Then when I have tried to call back to ask them to remove my number from their data base, as there is no Ms. Campbell here, I get a message "We are unable to complete your call."

I continuosly get calls from this number, asking for Campbell. This is getting to be annoying and is costing me because they are using my minutes by doing this.

I received a call from 727-683-1116 on Jan 3, 2007 at 9 in the morning. My postal code is 49464.

I received this call at 10:40am 1/3/07. The claimed they wanted to send me a free travel voucher. They wanted my bank name and already had most of my info. They wanted me to give them my account number and I hung up.

I got one of these today... The woman asked for Justin and I said wrong number and hung up... losers...

They called me today and the woman had a terribly fake english accent saying that she was sending me information and so i wanted to see how much info they actually had on me and they spouted off my name, address and then they wanted me to verify my bank information immediately i hung up the phone. Did some searching online and reversed scaned the number to a clearwater, FL residance. So i called back and got the automated answering system and deleted my information from the system.

I called the number back, and I recieved an automated system that allows you to have your phone number removed from their system.

Its ashame a few people got screwed out of $149, but, come on, what kind of goof gives their bank info out to someone they do not know over the phone? I'd consider it a hard lesson learned.

I got this call on my cell phone number which I was not sure how they got in the first place. They had my bank account information, which again I am not sure how they got it. I have not received anything in the mail yet, but I think I am going to have to notify my bank to make sure nothing comes out of it.

Recieved a call from the number at 9:50am EST on 12/19/06. Called my cellphone. Send they were a travel agency and they owed me commissions and had a check for $500 they wanted to Direct Deposit to my account. All they needed was my bank account number. They confirmed my name and mailing address. They said they couldn't send it to my by mail because it was an electronic payment. I said I dont want anything as I felt it was a scam. I looked it up and got tons of listings saying they were scammers. My zip code is 32819. I feel like driving to St. Pete and smaking them around a bit!

I really wish they'd stop calling.. in the last two weeks they have called my cellphone thirty four times and never once left a message.

Got a first call around 12pm on 12/13 picked up no one was on the other end. Second call same day at 5:15 pm. I missed it. From what Ive seen its a scam. So if the whole world knows its a scam why is it allowed to go on???????

I got a call on my cell phone from the number 727 683 1116 on December 8, 2006 @ 9:07am. When I said hello, no one would answer me. They just sat on the line.

I have received calls from this number before. If you call back, you will be taken through an automated prompt system to remove your number from their calling list.

I got a phone called from them at 5:40pm (PST) on Fri Dec. 11. I have no idea how they got my name, address and phone number. They said something along the line of I just won some trip 'cause I bought something through my checking account. But they wouldn't revealed what I bought, saying it was confidential information. The minute I said that whatever the case may be and I will not be giving out my personal information, they hung up. UGH.. SCAM!!!

I already left one of these, but I was called by this number and I decided to look further into it and it turns out that it originated in Clearwater, FL.
I got on myclearwater.com and e-mailed their police department with my strange story.
They replied with this: "Thank you for contacting the Clearwater Police Department.
The company that called you is Travel Agents Direct, it is a telemarketing company that obtains the personal information, including the bank routing #, of customers through various other marketing companies on line or through infomercials on TV. The customer makes a purchase through one of these of companies and their info is passed on to Travel Agents Direct. They supposedly sell travel related packages. Their address is:

They use phone numbers in the sequence of 727-683-1113 / 1114 /1115, etc. This address falls within the jurisdiction of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Their phone number is 727-582-6200.

Got this call on my cell phone and didn't waste my time answering as I was not familiar with the number nor area code.....now realizing that it's one of those scams.

Called me on my cell phone Last Saturday morning and Called me today for two times(2006 September 11 10:11am, 18:11pm) I called back in the morning but there is no sound. In the evening, this number appears again and I picked up the phone. The lady said she is from the Travel Agency. She said I booked a ticket from them last year. I said no! She said Yes. This woman's voice is not friendly, the tone is impersonal and the voice sounds little bit cruel. I think she is cheating and her voice in a tone my sixth sense told me something wrong. So I hang up. I searched google and found some scam information about this number:

This number keeps calling me offering me free stuff.. They have all of my information yet they wouldn't disclose where they got it from. "I don't know," this one woman said, so impatiently. Yeah. I smell a lawsuit.

they called to give me $400.00 in gift vochers. saying. i bought something on the internet and i would be interested in this gift. we just need to verify your checking account #. i told them to keep dreaming.

I finally answered this number today to get them to stop calling. They had an offer of a free vacation, knew my name and the city I live in. The girl started giving me a hard time when I wouldn't give her the name of my bank. Let people know about this scam.

Had a morning and afternoon call to my office fax number. Not exactly how they got my 14 yr old daughter's name, but they were asking for her on the answering machine. I called it back and it is a telemarketing call. Silly me for not registering the fax number on the do not call list.

I get a phone call from them once a day. I don't answer and they don't leave messages.

They were setting up a discount program and giving away a night stay at a hotel and flight tickets for three people as a free gift of appreciation, she actually told me all of my info- except she had the wrong routing number- definitly a scam!

Received call at 9:41 AM EDT 29 Aug 06. I answered on 2nd ring. Line immediately went dead.

Two calls, both afternoon and early evening from this number on August 24th. Didn't answer the phone, no message was left in either case.

I have gotten phone calls from this number nearly every day for the past three weeks. I have not picked it up as I don't recognize it but it's really starting to get on my nerves.

My wife says this isn't the first time this number has called us. We do not answer that call when we see it on the caller ID.

This number has called me up to 4 times in one day. They are calling my direct office line as well as my business cell phone. THey left one message on my cell stating I need to call back to get my PIN number for my new debit card. SCAM!

Some kind of travel agency calling my direct office line. If they are scamming people, then it is not a good idea, since I work for a gov't consumer protection agency.

This number has called me several days in a row, at least twice per day. Some sort of telemarketing scam...at least from what I've read on the net.
