Who Called Us

This number has called several times over the last several month on both my home line and home office. Every time I answer there is no one there.

Anyone a lawyer... can we put together a class action suit for harassment?

When i answered the call, he said "i'm sorry i must have the wrong number"

Called and said, "I'm sorry, must haev the wrong number."

Told me I won a prize and then tried to get me to signup to a time share resort package. Explained that I had not sign up for a give away and was told perhaps a good freind who cared about me did. what a scam. They keep calling

There was no answer.

This is the second day in a row I've gotten this name and number on my caller ID. They didn't leave a message. Yesterday I filled out the form to report as a violation, because I AM on the national do not call list. How many times do I have to report them, or can I report them to someone else?

They called and talked to my wife. Told her we won something, but wouldn't say what is was. Told us she was with Harbor Resort Management and to go to this address 5265 Commerce Dr. Ste. E Crown Point, IN 46307. Sometime this week to listen to a presentation, and claim our prize. To me this sounds too fishy. And she gave the same number 1-877-256-7879 as a call back number with a confirmation number which we won't use in case in opens up our phone to possible use by others.

I have received three calls in the last couple of weeks. Everytime he says I'm sorry I must have the wrong number.

Got a few calls from this number on my cell over the last few months (most recent was 12/15). Figued it wasn't legit.

this number calls me once a week (approx.) and always says 'sorry wrong number.'

i plugged the number into google. wowwwww. who does this? they need to stop, it's obnoxious.

I get 2-3 calls a week from this number when I answer it only says sorry wrong number....

Yea, I got a call too but not from Paul but from an Amy Parker with an ext. 283. I wish I'd ask her what is she doing wasting her time doing this kind of thing.

They call and call. They don't leave a message. When I anser I get dead air. It's making me feel like disconnecting my phone.

Just got a call, it was a recording saying we won an automobile top prize. Our number is not listed, we use internet phone, we also don't use our number for any services other than our utilites & medical stuff, we use our cells for most other calls. Almost fell for it, good thing I like google, looked up the name on the display, lol. call back number he gave is 877-256-7890

Numerous calls to my biz line...No message (as I do not answer it when I see this scumbag).

again got a recorded call from a male voice saying "sorry, I got a wrong number" I called it back and got a recorded female voice saying "number has been disconnected"

same wrong number recording, call on 11/16/06, thanks to this site for cluing me in on this number

I do not like calls like this, they left a 2 minute message like it was urgent with no name just "it is very important that you call us back immediately"... isn't there a way to stop this non-sense?

yet again, another call from this number, same "out of service" message when I call back, I agree with another post that its a fake.

I called back. A recorded message says this number is not in service. I rechecked the number and called again. The message definitely says the number is out of service. They are using a female voice and a telephone company tone to make it sound legitimate but they just don't want anyone to call them.

Not the first time this number has called, but did not answer. Tried calling back, but got a phony recorded "The number you have dialed is no longer in service."

He said - Must have the wrong number nad hung up.

first time I got a call, male voice, said "sorry, I must have a wrong number", when I called it back got that "tone" and 'the number you have called is not in service'

I have been getting this call at least 15 times a day at my business. I've called the number "Paul" gives twice, to ask to be placed on the do not call list. They keep calling me, so I'll keep calling them until they stop. Here's the number to call: 1-877-256-7894. Sounding angry doesn't really get you anywhere, but I swear I'm going to yell next time they call!

I got a call from this number it went to voicemail, when I retrieved the message they told me I had won a new car I had registered for and to call them to claim my prize.

I got the same message about winning a car like everyone else, except that the 1-877 number was cut off by our very smart answering machine! I tried calling the 708 # but it says it's out of service. I then googled the number and found this page, which is great! I am also on the Do Not Call list. I think they just fish around and try every number they can, like a toddler dialing the telephone and seeing if someone answers. I do enter contests, but it's usually through local charities. They don't say where they are from except a "prize center." I thought it was a scam by the way the message sounded and how fast he spoke too. If you really won something, they would call you and say, "Hello Mrs. Smith, you have won a car through the Habitat for Humanity raffle, which was drawn on October 16th." They would identify themselves, and they would surely know your name AND you would most likely have a ticket stub. Sure, we all want things for free - but we probably have more of a chance of being struck by lightening!!!

Just got a call on my cell from this number, a voice mail was left. He identified himself as Paul for Pride? and stated we had just won 1 of 4 top prizes in a contest we entered. Problem is we never entered any contests. Wanted me to call back, he never used my name so I suspect he does not know it. I'm sure this is a scam!!!

didnt answer the call cuz i didnt recognize it. googled the number to find out its a huge scam, perverted, telemarket, information stealing kind of thing. they left me a message about winning a car. SCAM!!!

This number keeps showing up on my caller id. and it is like right after I leave the house with my kids. I just deleted the first on off my phone and another one shows up. Please someone do something about this so called number.

It was 6am in California so I did not pick up the phone. When I called back later thinking this was a business calling I got a voice saying "this number is not in service" -- I hope they do not call again

Received a pre-recorded message on my cell (which is unlisted) Sep 21, 2006 (unknown time). Nothing showed up on caller ID; the message was broken up; but my voice mail recorded the number 708-539-2373. The message said that I won one of four prizes. I don't enter contests, so I know I didn't win a prize. I resent having to pay my cell phone company to hear a voice mail message from a scam artist.

I get one who says I'm sorry I must have the wrong number and then hangs up. It doesn't say 7085392373 or anything at all for that matter besides UNKNOWN, but it has the same message other people are getting.

I have just learned that if you press *69 it will give you the number of the person who called.

I answered a phone call from 708-539-2373 and he isntantly claimed to have the wrong number and then hung up. I did a reverse lookup on google and found this site.

They called me as well. Luckily I checked Google and found this information.

A man named Paul left a message on my answering machine as follows:
Hi my name is Paul from the Prize Center Auto, you enter our sweepstakes and you are the lucky winner of one of our 4 top prizes. Please call us back at 1-877-256-7894. I called the number and there is a recording to hold on to next available agent. Then you hear music and finally the call is automatically disconnected. This is a real SCAM and I am on the federal Do Not Call List.

received a call from them...called back and got "this number is not in service"

This has happened at least three times in the past month. I have 6 people living in my house, so when I saw it on the caller ID, I figured it was one of my mom's friends calling from out of state. Then I get the message..."Sorry, Wrong Number" & they hang up.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone. I called the number they left on the message to tell them to never call me again. The first girl hung up on me when I told her I would not hold. The second guy hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. The third guy gave me the supervisor but then the supervisor hung up on me when I asked what the company was. I am also on the Do Not Call list.

I received a call from this number at my home a few weeks ago. I just got a call on my WORK phone yesterday. How this guy got my work number is beyond me...

They have called my cell phone, with an obnoxious automated message about winning a prize, asking to be called back. It's very obviously a scam, and it's against the law to solicit to cell phones. I hope someone can track these people down.

Some guy named Paul called and said the contest you entered in won and you will win a free vehicle and you have won 1 of the 4 major prizes. I haven't entered any contest so don't call me.

This is the second or third time this creep called me. Same story... "sorry wrong number" and then the hang-up. I just listed my number on the Do Not Call list.

I first received a call from these clowns about a month ago. That's when I googled them and found ripoffreport.com. They have an automated dialer to validate numbers that automatically answers "Sorry, wrong number." when it detects that you've answered the phone. That's how they find valid phone numbers for the prize call.

So I wasn't too surprised when I just got another call today from "Paul from the prize center".

At least this is a reminder to add my new number to the Do Not Call list.

I got the same message as everyone else in my home. I never answer these things and figured it was a scam but was curious and the woman told me that we won a prize from entering a contest to win a car--she said that we entered in one of three areas--Catskills, NY, Some town in New Hampshire or Norwalk, CT. Sometimes I do fill out those little forms that you can drop in a box to win something so I said unlikely but outside chance. I asked myu husband if he had entered anything and he said no. She asked for our last name, which I gave her, and "looked us up" and confirmed, Yes, you did in fact win. Then she said "I just need your first name to confirm" I said "Well why don't you tell me what name you have there, if you have a name". She said "Well, I can only give you the first initial and it is a man's name. My husband's name starts with a T and she gave the initial R---so I said, Nope that is not someone here. She quickly said ok, thank you, and hung up.

I should know much better in this day and age to ever answer a ridiculous call such as this. We are even on the do not call national registry too, but some of these just sneak in somehow---and yes, human nature and curiosity sometimes gets the best of us. I know that some people have actually gone to their locations to receive a prize (read that on other web sites) and would LOVE to know, just for the ehck of it, what happened when people showed up......

They continue to call and hang-up. They have never said anything.

I answered, was asked if I was at least 21 replied no and he promtly hung up.
Also I didn't know the FTC could sell my number, if we put are numbers on the registry whats point of it if their just going to sell it right back to them.
That doesn't seem right.

Have seen this # on my call id before, but this is the first time I answered...the other person said "wrong number" and hung up.

Called on 7/22 @ 10:29 am EST... I missed the call, so I called back and it said the number isn't in service...

they call odd hours say wrong number and hang up. they sound american. have no idea how they got my name because the nomber is listed to a company.

they keep calling I believe from a few different numbers. It talks in spanish sometimes asking me from what I can understand to press the number two. This is a prepay cell phone they are calling me on and it charges me everytime I pickup the phone!

I have recieved 15 calls in the past month. They are a SCAM! I called them back to get some information on them but they just wanted to know information about me. Plus I am on the federal do no call list and it's a cell phone they continue to call.

They called me on my WORK phone.

If you plug in 708 539-2373 or their call back number 877 256-7894 to Google, you'll find many reports about Paul. My favorites are those written to ripoffreport.com (Paul does get around).

Mutiple calls from this number with different responses. Some no one said anything. Others did the top 4 contest gig. I also received a few "I have the wrong number." What is this crap!?

Got the same message as the others, called back, guy tried to get me and my wife to pick up our prize at a certain location. Didn't go, didn't give any info.

it's a skip tracing service/collection agency everyone! you've won a car etc. is the oldest trick in the book in getting you to give up personal information.
