Similar experience from here: I received a recording on my voicemail from "Chris" saying he's calling from some "communications group", urging me to call back (at an 866 number) to claim my "prize" (otherwise sounds same as Doug reported previously on this list). The funny (hah!) thing is the exact same message was left on the answering machine at a neighbor's house (totally unrelated to me) that I'm house sitting for! Definately a scam!
My husband filled out an online contest entry form for Kentucky Automotive (even after I explained it was a scam) No only did he not when a car he now is getting the annoying sales callers.
Same message & info as the others who got this call. If he had tried numerous times, why was this the first time a call came from this # or a vm received? BS, never bothered to call them back.
yes this is just another con game rip off. I was told the same thing as Doug
We got the exact same message that poster Doug did.
I received the same call. I tried to call back and it just goes to a voivemail. The company is called Mitchell Communications Group based in Chicago.
After a few seconds the taped message started. It was "David" from ??? Communications Group. He had made made numerous attempts to contact me (oh really?) about an entry form that someone had filled in during the past 12-18 months to win a car. He was calling to inform me that I had indeed won one of the top 4 prizes. (Probably a picture of a car!). He said that it was time-sensitive and to call him at 1-877-279-3457 x243 and cautioned that it was not a telemaketing agency, or timeshare, nor a cold call.
