Sorry, Mo. You're not right. The FTC makes two demands of third party collectors which are often in conflict. A collector must make ''meaningful disclosure'' of its identity yet respect the privacy of whoever is named on a debt account. Some collectors fear that leaving a message may expose account discussion to the wrong person, which can get them sued. Many others have turned to the clumsy practice of trying to get a person to self-authenticate in a canned message. Hence those absurd commands to stop listening if you're not the intended target.

if this is a "true debt collector" and you are not home; you would think if it is that important to talk to you about any out-standing bills you may have! they will leave you a message...
AM I RIGHT OR NOT? I think it is a Scram!!

Covert BiteMe, if you're that touchy about a few facts to help protect your assets left here a half year ago, you won't last four minutes before a judge if LVNV hauls you to see one after you've ignored them.

Pinnacle Financial. They buy debts from other companies and will call repeatedly.

hum. keep receiving calls from this number, never leaves a message. Wasting their time, but not mine...this number is now on my "call reject" list.

Pinnacle is one of the ska-million aliases of creepy collections behemoth LVNV Funding, AKA Sherman Group. LVNV will pass accounts among their DBA names forever and a day, and are chronic violators of Federal law.

For the umpteenth time, the DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales. Charities, debt collectors, political speech, and surveyors are all exempt as they are not included in the FTC definition of "telemarketing". This was made known to you when you registered your numbers.

If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, which regulates collector behavior. Learn your rights at FTC-dot-gov.

Call all the time asking for someone who does not live here. I wish that their stupid database could take notes and stop calling.

I don't understand if someone is stupod or dumb but we have asked that this company stop calling our daughters phone. We have spoken to management several time and eveytime we get a lie that her number will be taken out of the data base. We don't know who lenora jones is but we will be reporting this company to the better business bureau for harassment. We are part of the do not call and we will report this number to them as well.

Pinnacle, other numbers are 858.952.0278 & 786.837.7312. Hey Pinnacle, why don't you leave a message?

Pinnacle Financial. Debt collector.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
