The message you receive when you answer is, this is your final notice to lower your interest rate on your currant credit card. However, they want you to give them all the infromation about your card! The Better Business Burea said this is from a Debt Consolidation Company called Your Financaisl Ladder. They are not accredited with the Burea and they have a "F" rating! I understand why! They will continue to call from a differnt number each time!

Slick scammer

Don't try to frighten me with your credit card crap! I've cancelled dozens of accounts over the years and have an absolutely sterling credit report. My balance is paid off every month. I don't care what my interest rate is, because I never get charged any interest. If you tell me my account is at risk, then you are lying.

Jack, the credit reprice scammers are not ''immune from prosecution'', just very hard to corral long enough to serve a summons. Some do not operate domestically, increasing the difficulty. Several boiler rooms running this scam have been shut down by the FTC since 2010. Their job is not done, and neither is yours. Keep filing complaints with the FTC and state attorneys general. Regulators need both intel and a critical mass of reports to do what you're asking.

They called and when I said that I didn't want to be called they hung up.

LOL... when Rachel called and after I listened to her recorded message, I first wasted their time. After, I redialed the number, listed as wireless caller, and got another voice recording announcing that this number belongs to a credit card scammer and suggested that I waste their time. FUNNY!

Why is it that these scammers, who are in clear and incessant violation of Federal law, are immune from prosecution? Perhaps fewer comments on this forum and more pointed ones: "Rachel goes, or you will not be reelected" to our Congressmen would be more helpful.

I'm an old fart with nothing to do. So, when these scum bags call, I always click through and chat with the rep, just to waste their time. You can often string them along for several minutes. It cuts into the time they can waste with others - kinda like a community service. Try it.

Recorded message starts out with "This is your second notice about your credit card.............." and that's as far as they got. I hung up. Sometimes, it comes in as a "Final notice". Scare tactics. They call 2-3 times per week. I even have the "Do Not Call" service.

They are calling everyday now. Same time. National No Call needs to get to work!!!!!

I think the caller ID was spoofed as a prerecorded message played with instructions to push buttons

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
