2008-01-16 21:25:06 UTCSC Columbia

push poll for Huckabee again and again

2008-01-15 23:00:10 UTCLorie Mc

Live in SC and our primary is coming up. I called the number back and it says that the number has been disconnected. But it just called me. How maddening.

A political surveyor asking questions about my opinion of president Bush, I stopped him and declined the survey.

2008-01-15 04:02:30 UTCRoger

Answered and call was a push poll for Huckabee. ...and GW bush is the worst president this country has ever had and should be prosecuted for war crimes, among others.

Called me .. I live in Michigan. I did not answer phone, because of the campaigns going on.

2008-01-14 06:25:10 UTCDale

None.

2008-01-14 04:44:24 UTCZ

Got this call today. Definitely a push-poll in favor of Huckabee. I wish I knew where to report this. It is totally illegal.

2008-01-14 04:10:01 UTCGraham

It's actually a push-poll scam in favor of Huckabee against Romney. Push-polls are felonies.

Got political survey asking if I was satisfied with Pres. Bush. The Survey went on to say Michigan Democrats did not have a choice in the Primary and I should cross over and vote Republican. Isn't these types of calls illegal?

Caller did not even leave a msg; caller id said Virginia and 703-961-1077

2008-01-14 02:01:39 UTCKen

This was a political survey call, but the questions were extremely slanted toward Huckabee. I am located in Michigan, where we have a primary this week.

2008-01-14 00:08:14 UTCJulie

Masquerading as a 45 second political survey, as the survey continued it became apparent that it was a Huckabee campaign ad. I'm quite turned off that he is running phone ads that are disguised as surveys.

Called (in the Detroit area) by this number Sat 1-12-08 at 5:43pm -- our Dem Primary is Tues the 15th. Caller ID only shows 'Virginia'

2008-01-13 17:05:07 UTCinfideleo

This is a classic example of "Caller id spoofing", when the caller masks their true number.

HR 251, which is about to pass committee, make spoofing illegal.

I am disheartened by the hypocrisy and would love to know who is behind this...

I DID NOT KNOW WHO WAS CALLING AS IT SHOWED UP ON MY TV THROUGH MY DISH CONECTION SO I DID NOT ANSWER. I AM REPORTING HOWEVER SINCE I AM HANDICAP.
ITS A REAL PAIN TO GET UP TO ANSWER THE PHONE.

I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. It's a recording, a political ad. That makes sense, since I live in Michigan, and the primary is Tuesday. They misidentified themselves as a research company, and the recording asked political yes-or-no questions. When it began to tell me dirt about Republican political candidates, I hung up but then was sorry I did because I wanted to know whose campaign was doing this. It's not McCain's because they were saying negative things about him when I hung up. So I googled the number to find out who it belonged to (so I knew who NOT to vote for) but just got the name "L Hinton."

Some people here asked how they could get these calls because they're on the do-not-call list. It's legal. They exempt politicians from that. They say it's their free-speech right.

Another person says this is the Huckabee campaign. I wish I could be sure of that.

2008-01-11 20:15:56 UTCRod

This is from the Huckabee campaign. I've been following Huckabee for awhile now, HE LIES! He changed his campaign to mimick Ron Paul.
perhaps huckabee is a Ron Paul wannabee.

2008-01-11 17:01:56 UTCSteve

This looks like a call center for the presidential campaigns; prepare for more because it won't be limited to one campaign. About 30 people working a temp job with a call center that gets contracts from all of the campaign offices. The call center reflects a discarded number on the caller ID so they wont be called back for months with political calls. Mr. (or MS) Hinton is just one of the poor souls who canceled their phone number long before the campaign but is still listed in the hundreds of directory assistance sites on the Internet.

I'm sure in the next couple of months this number will reflect more than Ron Paul. Campaigns from Clinton and Obama will also use the same call center and thus reflect this number. I just pity the poor souls who owned the telephone number last as they are still listed on websites with their old number and address. They will get some strange hate mail or calls from time to time from the idiots who don't understand what happens how a recently cancelled telephone number can be marketed. That has to hurt.

Quit calling me you fucking cocksuckers. I would vote for the devil 666 before i would vote for a shit eating ass eating motherfucking republican

unknown....don't know number don't answer...whe I called number back said number disconnected. Number is listed for L. Hinton in Fairfax, Va.

2008-01-10 22:16:57 UTCShelly

I'm on the do not call list for a reason. I DON'T WANT TO BE CALLED! I don't care who you are and if your running for office, don't call me cause then I'm not voting for you.

2008-01-10 20:21:23 UTCjbk

Caller id said Virginia. 1/10/08 3 pm. No one on the line....

2008-01-10 00:46:38 UTCJohn

How eerily un-American to resist paying unemployed Americans at least minimum wage but instead decide to robotically harrass Americans in the privacy of their home.

2008-01-07 18:45:25 UTCIconoclast

When I saw the 'G.W.Bush' annotation above, I thought it might be something legit, but calling back within 5 seconds of the final ring, I received a recorded telephone message that the number was 'disconnected,' so this is some sort of spoofed identity and I would caution against answering. To respond to the prior comment . . . unfortunately President Bush is ineligible for a third term - he's SO MUCH better than all of the dimocraps, all the RINOs and most of the true Republican candidates running.

2008-01-06 22:59:16 UTCRachel DiZoglio

I live in NH and we have our primary on Tuesday. Yes, we have been getting more then our fair share of calls from candidates for their support. However now I am getting them asking me if I am satisfied with President Bush. Thankfully, he is not running again, so I do not understand how these calls get away with calling people that are registered on the Do Not Call List.
