An excellent read, thank you. It's getting harder and harder to sift by way of all of the garbage on the internet these days.

2011-10-01 03:03:29 UTCTrode

I got 2 calls from this name & number today. I let the machine pick it up, but they hung up before leaving any message.

fcking telemarketers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2011-09-26 16:55:51 UTCRich

This is from a subsidiary of ATG. They provide a software/integrated online/phone response software package. Many online websites use this in their customer service program. The person that you get on the phone is not a ATG employee, rather they are from the company you have requested contact froms customer service center. The call is routed through the ATG/eStara system for expiediance.

2011-06-09 14:33:50 UTCDennis M.

Got a call from this number, let it go to answering machine and they hung up. Left no message to identify the reason for the call.

2011-01-24 22:43:06 UTCFS

Used click to call on Dell website. Lots of companies are using Estara call center. Ocassionally they get a number wrong and people are called by mistake. Sure beats sitting on hold waiting for someone.

2010-12-06 16:08:56 UTCLou

I had called Macy's department store customer service and the website will have customer serivce call you with a rep on the line it's faster than going through the voice messaging service.

2010-11-29 22:47:48 UTCmfm

No scam...legitimate company, but it would help if you knew who was calling, tho I always ask for an immediate call back, so am fairly certain it is a call I requested. I was online with Amazon and having difficulty with the website...you can put in your number and they will call to help resolve the issue. No waiting online for a customer rep, and listening to automated directions before you finally reach someone. They call you, and you can get the help/info you need. As mentioned, it would be a problem if someone made a mistake in typing in their number- and it does happen. Quite a few companies use this service. I know I have used it for both service and consumer issues.

2010-11-01 17:54:32 UTCJ Laws

They called at 11:49 PM MDT. Who calls at that time?

2010-10-03 17:42:47 UTCLinda

IT'S LEGIT. I was trying to order something on Best Buy's website but it wouldn't go through. I clicked to have a customer service rep call me. Within seconds a rep called and resolved the problem I had. Order complete! Now, the problem is, is that these websites should post that the call will show up as ESTARA 703-880-6100 to avoid confusion. Also, be aware that if they call you accidentially, more than likely someone made a typo w/ their tel.number and that the rep calling you may be in say, California while you might be on the east coast getting a call at 2:00 AM. I had a positive experience and my issue was resolved, but I can understand how one would feel being "accidentially" called and woken up at 2:00 am then trying to figure out who the heck ESTARA is.Bottom line...CAREFULLY type in your telephone number, and don't blame them when they call the wrong number if YOU make a typo !!

2010-09-10 20:14:33 UTCann nonymous

clicked on call me on a lawyer's web site and this thoroughly screwed up our phone connection and we had to unplug the phone and restart everything. I won't do that again. Morons.

2010-09-03 15:20:06 UTCAndrew

This is a company that calls you then transfers you to the party that you requested to talk to. I asked Dell to call and this is the Caller ID that came up. This saves time and money for the company in case you don't answer or something.

2010-08-22 00:11:23 UTCnELSON

WHo is this?

2010-07-05 21:59:32 UTCJay

This nimber called me July 5, 2010 and was an online call from Penske Rent a truck.

2010-07-01 02:58:01 UTCDavid

Estara Inc. transfered me to Penske Truck rentals. The Penske Rep. was thoroughly confused and stated they have no business affiliation with
Estara Inc" what-so-ever.

2010-05-04 02:57:00 UTCCharles Wilson

wHO ARE THES COMPANIES?

2010-04-15 17:20:07 UTCbothered

Some guy speaking almost unintelligable English said he heard I have diabetes. I do Not. I hung up

I was trying to pre-order "Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince" on Best Buy's website. I was having a problem with it, went to the Contact Us & clicked Live Chat; I got a call almost immediately and was told I couldn't complete my order because the website info on the movie hadn't been updated.

2009-11-30 20:00:35 UTCGinette

Ed is right.I was on TD Canada trust website and I clicked a button to get immediate help and it says to put your phone number in and They're gonna call you right back, which I did and I got a ring back with that number on.I didn't give any of my personal info.Doesn't look like it is SCAM.

2009-10-09 01:43:05 UTCHugh

Automated voice: just a moment.
Live female voice: "This is Amazon.com. I am returning your call."
She asked for my name and email address. She did not have my name or email; my number just came on her screen. I did not give her my email address. I think she got a wrong number. Comments by others is very helpful. I think it is one of the web callbacks that others describe.

I had a caller ID printout of this particular corporation. If I am on the Do Not Call List then why am I receiving calls from people where I have no business contact with.

2009-09-10 03:07:23 UTCAdblock User

bestbuy.com has this crap on their website too. No idea how it works, found this page googling the domain name. Sounds like yet another scam supported by big businesses who have been deceived as to its real purpose.

2009-09-05 00:02:59 UTCAl

I got a call from Estara Inc.703-880-6100..this was really from JK Harris Tax solving problem..

2009-09-01 19:13:29 UTCRTB

I believe this is a click to call company. If you clicked on a website and it called you to put you in touch with them this is where the call came from.

2009-08-11 21:56:28 UTCED

This is a telephone relay number used by buisnesses when you asked to be called back or a customer rep call you back from a click on a website. For example I looked up a water heater on sears to have it delivered to a local store to save shipping.I checked the box to have Sears call me immediately for in stock and ordering info. I entered my phone # and clicked call me and within seconds the phone rang asking me to hold while it connected me to sears rep!

2009-07-17 14:36:27 UTCSharon

Update to below comment....
800-284-3900 HSN...originally did not leave name or message on first phone call?????.... they called 2nd time.
800-903-3589 Medco...originally did not leave name/message on first call either????? ...called back 2nd time.
these numbers seem to be legit. now......

2009-07-17 14:30:00 UTCSharon

Got a call message from above # (703-880-6100) it was for cancer research. Also call listed from Texas (it was Sears), call from Mexico it was for a medicine company.
So can anyone research these #'s I get calls from? 804-234-9010, 301-882-9986, 305-800-4296, 305-800-2945,800-284-3900, 800-903-3589, This is driving me nuts....I called the phone company and I would need to block any private incoming call, however members of my family have "private" numbers soooooo I would still like for them to call me.

Is there a website that the above unwanted phone numbers can be reported???? Please help and report the above numbers. Thanks...

2009-07-11 05:59:32 UTCMichael

This was actually a WEB CALL BACK from AMAZON. I couldn't resolve my issue online, and couldn't get through on the customer service number. My friend suggested what area to go to, and click WEB CONNECT (I think) Within 10 seconds, my phone rang, and I was connected to a LIVE Call Centre Agent. - Now I'm sure they do outbound calls too, but mostly it's if you request a web call. :)

2009-07-10 14:59:01 UTCj nelson

OMG here we go again, the goofies forgot how to talk on the phone.

2009-07-09 16:52:35 UTCcarolyn

please do not call my phone again not interested thank you if you attempt to call me phone again i will report you

2009-06-22 03:50:45 UTCangry

Had just sent complaint email to Comcast customer service. The phone rang and it said it was a call from AMAZON?? okay.... don't know who or what this call was about but it is 11:40 pm - DON'T CALL ME ANYMORE!

2009-06-19 07:15:04 UTCThomas Curtis

This was a call returned to me by Amazon Customer Service with regard to a question I had about an order

2009-06-18 20:47:24 UTCJames

Clicked on a link on Dell.com to call Dell. Instead, get a computer message that they will call me, few minutes later someone called, said was Dell, but this Estara Inc came up . Then the rep wanted me to create a profile before I could order the stupid part I wanted from Dell, all of which I can do myself from Dells website... so I hung up. Why would I wait for a call just to give the info vocally instead of just typing it on to a web page.

2009-06-13 14:25:54 UTCme

I was making flight reservations at continental.com at 12:30 am one night (ok, morning) for an upcoming trip and had a question. I called their 800 number and got a recording stating they would call me right back and to please answer the call. Five seconds or so after hanging up my phone rang. I answered it and it was Continental flight reservations. The lady answered my question satisfactorily and we both hung up. I didn't recognize estara inc on my caller ID list this morning and so wound up here after doing a web search. I'm guessing that when you ask for a call back from some company your phone number is recorded by estara inc and sent electronically back to that company. A call back list must then be generated at your company which they then answer in call order without having to do any dialing.

2009-06-03 19:13:15 UTCJ.B.

Needing customer service from Amazon, I entered my phone number for a rep to return my call, and they did...immediately. "Estara, Inc." showed on the caller ID, but I figured it was a type of call center, so I answered. I was given prompt and efficient service, my problem resolved within minutes. Much better than being put on hold or waiting for an email.

If you've received a call in error, it may be due to someone mis-typing their phone number in the "request for help" online.

2009-05-06 20:57:56 UTCPBandJ

Sears also uses this company for call-back service. I had a question while making an online Sears purchase and clicked "call me". Estara Inc and this phone number were on the caller id. They are legit.

2009-04-30 03:08:20 UTCJerry

Just got 2 back-to-back calls at 11pm. I did not place nor do I have any pending customer service calls to anyone anywhere AND I am registered on the do not call registry

Amazon

2009-03-20 12:33:20 UTCSD

Gee whiz, everyone - take a deep breath! This is a service used to return REQUESTED calls from various customer service operations. They probably make thousands of calls a day, and some percentage of those are bound to go to the wrong number because somebody made a typing mistake entering the number or whatever. Everybody's human - it happens. There's no percentage in doing it on purpose - they'll end up with an annoyed wrong number and an actual customer who thinks the company ignored the request for a callback.

2009-03-14 19:09:44 UTCHerbert Hawkins

I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me. It would be different if I had call you for something but here I am at home minding my own business and all of a sudden these unwanted calls keep coming in. Get a life and leave mines alone and this is the last warning before I call the FCC with the same complaint.

2009-03-13 19:49:38 UTCJulie

This is a call back number that Amazon uses when you request help. If you give them your number, they very promptly return call you from this number and usually solve your problem. At least they solved mine to my satisfaction.

They help with online orders and to set appointments for companies. I order Charter Cable and they called me back within 5 minutes to schedule an install date.

This is the return call when you request Amazon, Best Buys, etc., to call you by putting your number in on the web site and requesting a call back.

Called on behalf of Amazon. They verified the number they had on record, but looks like somebody on the customer end typed in the wrong number. They were very appologetic.

Was on the CareOne Credit site and clicked to speak with a representative. This was the number that showed up when they called me.

Only after seeing this post could I figure out what it was. I went on Best Buys website for technical support and entered my number in and my phone immediately rang. I answered it and it was an automated service to connect me with the next technical specialist to help me with my problem. This morning I saw the call log on my phone and couldnt figure out what that number was until I saw this.

I went to Amazon.com to track my lost shipement. At Amazon they asked me to type in the phone number that I wanted to talk on - when I typed in my phone number - Estara Inc. immediately called my number and it was on behalf of Amazon.

2008-10-23 14:27:27 UTCMe

I have no clue who or why this # would call this is not the first time they have called. I don't want to be bothered with them calling. I have never ordered anything from them & don't plan to. So i wish they would stop calling me they should not have the right to call me if I DON"T GIVE THEM MY # TO CALL. I work 12hr. shifts and get up at 3:00am so don't want them calling me at 8:45pm they need to leave people & alone call customers that want them to. I DO NOT. They should have to lose there rights to a phone if they call people that don't want there crap. And i'm on the do not call list and have been for a couple years now.

2008-10-18 15:08:49 UTCAnonymous

In order to talk to Amazon Service Reps, you give them your phone number via their website and they call you back almost instantaneously (if you wish). I was having trouble redeeming a gift card. The rep (probably from a call center in India) placed my order for me. Prompt and helpful service.

eStara Inc. defines this as one of its services. I used it on BESTBUY website and it calls you back on your phone.

Click to Call and Click to Chat turn your call center into a sales center by providing an immediate human connection with your customers when you need it most. Both services engage buyers proactively and move them seamlessly from the Web into live dialogue, creating a truly personal one-to-one experience.

A call-back from Amazon. I love Amazon and spend lots of money there. I had a problem with my last order and could not get the email function to work (I have the feeling they disabled it on purpose)I talked with "Alma" who was probably East Indian or Pakastani. She was very pleasant, but I couldn't understand her very well. I was able to email Amazon later and told them I would prefer to speak with an English speaking native. Got a reply back, and they said this was a new service they offered as they needed to have reps available at all hours. Since I called in early afternoon on a week day, there shouldn't have been a problem. Anyway, I may have to go back to Barnes and Noble. I don't want to have to TRY to make myself understood by a bunch of foreigners, and I resent Amazon sending jobs overseas and trying to pass it off as a servide to me.

2008-01-28 23:13:31 UTCT

Penske's website click-to-call feature uses this as well ("Click here to talk to a representative..."). You enter your phone # then click submit and your phone rings.

2008-01-14 15:36:41 UTCsaintpat

This call was in response to my request for an immediate callback from Amazon.com for assistance with my account.

After reading the messages posted I realized that anyone can put in your phone number and generate a call to you at anytime of the day or night. I used the customer service at amazon.com which was very helpful. My cell phone rang immediately and a coustomer service rep was on the line within 30 seconds. No waiting. My problem was resolved in less that 2 minutes. Great Customer Service in my opinion!

This was a call back from Amazon.com on a customer service issue... I used their "call me" service from their customer service home page... I clicked on it and almost immediately, they called me to discuss an issue... No problem at all... I thought it was pretty cool...

Ordered books through Amazon's web site. However, I wanted to confirm something on my order before submitting and I wanted to talk to a live person. I went to the Contact Us button and was informed that to call them, I would have to key in my phone number (which I did). When I hit the submit button, my phone started to ring. I picked up the receiver and heard .. just a minute, we are patching you through right now to Amazon. And, sure enough, in a minute or so I was talking with a CSR for Amazon. In other words, I never dialed their number, but by keying in MY number on the web site, it linked immediately and the Estara service called my number and patched me through to Amazon. The caller ID on my phone (when it rang) said Estara, Inc.

2007-08-21 04:35:26 UTCeBuddy

This is a company that does immediate call-backs from web site link buttons. I'd called it with a question about a service I'd subscribed to. It wasn't Amazon or Sears but a financial services organization. I expected the call but didn't recognize the phone number on my phone bill.

This number is related to a service websites use. This is a 3rd party solution for websites. For example: I was on Pensketruckrental.com and click on the "speak to rep" button. The system allowed me to put in my number. I then received a call that connected me to Penske.

2007-02-23 21:28:30 UTCRebecca

This is a click-to-call service used by several companies, including Amazon. It is a legitimate service.

2007-02-14 18:35:52 UTCbrian

Five calls in a row from this number. I talked to the rep for a moment and they were no help in fixing the matter. On the fifth time there was a message that included a way to block future calls. The whole thing was a prank by a friend. He decided to put my number as the call back number on the Amazon.com help page.

This is a call service apparently. They have a website at estara.com that shows they help companies deal with their online customers. Problem though is they called me today and I did not buy anything online from anyone. Go figure!

2006-11-28 09:34:15 UTCPete

I needed to talk to Amazon Cust. Service about an on line order I was placing. They do not give you a phone # to call, instead, you enter your phone # for a call back. I clicked dial, my phone rang and I answered just as if I called them. I then talked to someone from customer service who I could not understand and he could not understand me. 703-880-6100 showed on my caller ID with Estara, Inc.

2006-11-22 06:11:01 UTCGordon W Watts

Oops, I forgot to put info in the boxes. ...see below: It was Amazon calling me back, after I had clicked on the link. The number which appeared on my caller ID was 1-703-880-6100, and came up as "ESTARA INC"

2006-11-22 06:07:49 UTCGordon W Watts

I decided to look this number up in google.com. When I clicked on a "help" link in Amazon.com to ask them to call me a few minutes ago, this is the number which called me -which appeared on my caller ID. When the website asked me for my home phone number, I had to type in my home phone number, so the conclusion of whe whole matter is this: If someone clicked on the "help department" link and put in *your* number by mistake, then Amazon.com would call YOU instead, and I think that's what happened.

2006-11-20 04:30:31 UTCJ

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
