What is it about Do Not Call that these people don't understand? I've stayed at Hilton Hotels, but have never asked for info on vacation packages or timeshares. IF this caller is affiliated with the hotel chain--I have doubts--the company needs to rethink its marketing schemes. The good news is that the recording was difficult to understand--static on the line and a high-pitched voice like a helium balloon trick. AND, even if this is a legitimate business deal--doubt it--anyone who wants to buy real estate in Vegas can probably get a much better deal by buying a fully-owned second home. Real estate in Las Vegas tanked several years ago and is still recovering. Low prices, low mortgage rates. Why buy a timeshare is such a market?

It's not legal to call someone who is on the do not call registry. You are so rude and persistent. After I said please don't call anymore, you still kept calling! I don't want a time share, go away!

2012-08-29 15:24:46 UTCmc

We are on the do not call list but calls get through anyway. They called us several months ago and tried to push us into buying a time share. I said "we're not interested, please don't call us anymore". Now the calls have started up again, same pushy sales pitch.

HGVC - Are you representing Hilton then, because I agree with Nathan - if this is how Hilton's customer service responds to complaints, I too may have to return to Marriot.

Called around 8:45pm. Telesales guy was at least courteous when I asked to be put on their do-not-call list.

2011-08-26 14:03:10 UTCSmith

To HGVC:
Lets get this story right, the only "jackass" are you people who keep calling and do not check the DNC list.

2011-08-26 13:57:45 UTCTom

They now keep calling every other day at 6:30pm.
I called their number, but just got a recorded message.
I have NEVER stayed at a Hilton and do not have a business relationship with them.
ANYONE that would buy a timeshare need to investigate the total costs, they would find
that they could have a MUCH cheaper vac if they shop around.
ANYONE that has a job calling people, trying to get them to buy a timeshare needs to
learn to do something productive in life, maybe if all the callers decided to get a REAL job,
we would stop getting all these stupid calls.

Called my mobile but didn't come online when I answered. I didn't wait around for their predictive dialer to connect me to a sales rep and run up my minutes.

2011-08-05 18:28:16 UTCNathan

BTW -- Prefixer for Android is a wonderful tool. I've set a rule for this number to reject any calls from it.

2011-08-05 18:19:28 UTCNathan

Called my cell. Didn't answer. I already get their emails every other day and I really don't want their calls -- because never in this life would I be interested in a time share.

HGVC, you're making me wonder if I ought to switch back to Marriott.

2011-08-05 17:31:28 UTCInfo

They are calling to solicit a timeshare in Las Vegas

2011-08-04 20:12:57 UTCTH

This number keeps calling my cell, after reading the comments below I'll be sure to answer it next time and at the advise of HGVC I'll pleasantly advise that I'm not interested and I'm hoping for a non pushy reply of thank you in return.

It is the Hilton Grand Vacations trying to sell a time share. They want you to buy a vacation package then the catch is in order to get that package you have to go on a time share tour. They don't take no for an answer so in order to get them off the phone hang up. They will not let you off the phone for any reason, which is why you have to hang up on them. I told them I had food poisoning and they said, "Oh, I am sorry about that but I want to tell you about this fabulous offer we have for you..." When you ask to be on the do not call list they call you back because it takes 30 days for your name to be put on it. They get your information and claim they can call you even if you are not on the do not call list because you stayed at one of their many properties. I WILL never ever stay at their properties ever again. I rather sleep in my car then their properties if they are going to be this annoying and rude.

And Just FYI, it doesn't matter if you are on the DNC list or national registry. If you have a business relationship with us, EX staying at one of our hotels or being a Hilton Honors member, We LEGALLY can call you. There's no need to be rude to any of us, if you simply don't want to be called tell us, or you don't like the offer don't buy it, but to go out of your way to be rude is just un called for. Half the ppl I talk to I wonder how they where raised, with absolutely no manners at all. I personally don't like telemarketing calls either, but I keep it brief and polite...I don't feel the need to go out of my way to be a jackass to someone to make myself feel better.

I work at the call center in Las Vegas. We are not trying to bug anyone, just simply doing our job. Anyone that has stayed at any Hilton Property, ex Hampton, Embassy, Doubletree, Homewood, on leisure or business will get a call at some point. Or Hilton Honors card holders. All they are, are discounted hotel and resort stays that you can use down the road whenever you want. In return for the great rate and all the goodies of course Hilton asks you to take the timeshare tour. I have found a lot of people nowadays with the economy love these mini getaways that are super inexpensive because the cost. Hilton will not hound you on the tour like 90% of the other companies that offer these, mainly because we still need ppl to stay in our hotels, and we won't jeopardize the business relationship we have with most our guests.

These people called tonight - Hilton Grand Vacations or Hilton Grand Resorts - I immediately asked "Have I ever asked you to call me?" "uh...no" she said. Then I informed her that this number - my cell phone number, no less - is on the Do Not Call List and that I would be reporting the call to the government.

Sigh.

2010-08-27 00:40:02 UTCSean

I too have received several calls over the last couple of days.

FWIW, I called 1-800-448-2736 (which is the hilton grand vacations main number) and
asked to be removed. She entered my number and said sorry....

Who know if it will work or not, but worth a shot.

2010-08-18 01:12:54 UTCPete

This was from Hilton Vacations. I had the same experience as the other posters. They called on a Sunday night. The telemarketer was persistent and pushy. I was trying to be polite in the beginning because I thought it was part of my Hilton Honors program. I ended up hanging up on the woman, and she never called back. I will be writing to the Hilton Honors program people.

2010-08-14 18:17:07 UTCRalph

Trying to sell something!! Scam

2010-08-09 17:26:13 UTCTerence

Very persistent, won't take no for an answer, rang off when I said I would report them to Nat do not call register.

2010-08-05 20:45:14 UTCKen

Also a Hilton Honors member... I'm on do not call list and have told these clowns directly and quite rudely not to call me. I'll answer the next time and rachet that up a bit.

2010-08-04 14:56:08 UTCDamien

Annoying persistent calls, which I keep ignoring. when i called it back I got an automated line for Hilton Grand Vacations. I guess i will be forced to answer one of these times to tell them to remove me from their call list. I am already on the do not call list, but they still seem to call because I have a hilton honors account.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
