I called Pac West (noted 10/15/10 below) at (800) 511-9048. A woman answered immediately on a weekend. I explained (1) that we received calls daily and, most recently, approx 10 calls/hangups within 24 hrs from Cross FM and (2) we wanted all contact from (702) 553-0512 stopped. The calls stopped within 24 hours and have not resumed after a week.

I just called the phone provider for Cross FM and registered a complaint against these idiots. Their provider will contact them and advise them to never call my number again. Of course, they will do the same for you, so here's the info:

Their telephone provider is Pac West - phone 800-511-9048. They answer immediately (not a recorded message - a real human being answers). Tell them Cross FM is harassing you by phone. The Pac West will ask you a few questions and then will advise Cross FM never to call you again.

As I said, I just called Pac West, so not sure how long it will take for Cross FM to stop calling. The info I received from another website is that if there are enough complaints to the phone provider, the company will eventually lose their phone service. I hope so!

Don't ever subscibe to the St Paul Pioneer Press. I did once for a while and have been sorry ever since. For many YEARS there telemarketers now call and call and call. After much hassle the calls stopped for a few years but they are back. Sometimes they call three times a day. I called the Pioneer Press to ask them to take me off the list. They lady was nice and said she would but I don't believe her. I've been lied to by them too many times. Once you have been a customer then the Do Not Call doesn't apply to you anymore. Best thing to do is not be a subscriber in the first place.

Have received multiple calls that leave no message - very irritating. The caller id states "Cross FM" - 702-553-0512. I tried calling the number back but it does not ring and no one answers. I want them to take me off their list!

says they are with the local newspaper and offered us a great rate. We have declined their offer many times and advised them to stop calling yet they continue to call and hang up. When we call back, they dont answer.

Cross Marketing stop damn calling my home trying to sell me a subscription to the AJC in Atlanta. AJC says they have no ties to your company, you are a fraud.

They routinely call several times a day, I won't answer, my cell phone is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. I'm not using my minutes for something so stupid. How annoying and frustrating. Isn't there anyway to stop these phone calls??

I was getting up to 7 calls a day from them from two different phone numbers.

They are a either the Los Angeles Newspaper Group or a company that markets for them. The newspapers owned by them include the Pasadena Star, The Torrance/South Bay Daily Breeze, The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, The Long Beach Press Telegram, The Los Angeles Daily News, The Redlands Daily Facts, The San Bernardino Sun, The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, and the Whittier Daily News. They're trying to sell you the paper. If you call back a message says all operators are busy and then a few seconds of music play before it hangs up on you. If you call back several times (took me about 6) you can get someone to answer.

I read that you can send an email to mgross@crossfire1.com and ask to have your number removed from their query.

These mother f'ers call all day long. I answered the first and maybe second phone call. They don't say anything!! It's annoying, aggravating and it needs to stop!! Now I just let the phone ring and ring.

They need to stop calling me. This is harrasment.

These numbers are linked to identity theft. Do not give any info. Just inform them that you have tracked calls and are informing local police and FBI Bureau. Then actually do that. My last 'subscription' ended up in a -$1900 bank account.

Hi Everyone. Typically every 3 months I start getting calls from Cross FM. It's a boiler room of people doing sales for the Longmont Times Call in Longmont, Colorado.

Let's try this. Everyone who's annoyed with these hang-ups, dead-air and late night calls, instead call the timescall and complain.

Next, call the TC Line where the paper prints comments by readers and complain. (Be mindful that they post a wav file of your voicemail online. So if anyone recognizes your voice, your anonymity is gone.)

I did a little research, and the first mistake all of us have made is in thinking that "Cross FM" is a radio station. It isn't, it is a private residence, of an F.M. Cross. It is a land line, and for $14.95 I could've found out who owns the line, since it is unpublished. When I get some money later this month that I can use that $14.95 for this, I am going to find out once and for all who the hell this is. Then I will let the rest of you know.

9pm at night, received my 7th call today. Last call was very abusive, told me if I don't want the call turn ringer off on my phone. Complained to Times Call Newspaper after 4th call today, was told no control over telemarketing company.

They call all 4 of our business lines every day, they won't take us off the list, and they won't stop calling. When answered they won't speak. I called them back and a guy said they would remove us, i have gotten 2 calls since then right after we talked.

This number has appeared on my Caller ID several times a day for the past several weeks. I use Caller ID to screen calls like this from telemarketers. My number is listed on the National Do Not Call register.

I got a call from this number despite being on the do not call regestry. The caller ID said it was Cross FM. They said they where from my local news paper but when I told them I was on the do not call regestry they said "Oh, so its that way huh?" and hung up.

The call I got from this number was for the Pioneer Press holiday special $13.00 for a whole year.

This is a newspaper telemarketer selling the San Jose Newspaper...if you call back the number from a phone other than the receiving phone number you can contact them...they told me the computer will continue to call until it registers the phone call from the service. So i used my cell phone , hopefully I won't receive any callsfrom cross fm........happy holidays

These guys never give up no matter how many times you tell them to take you off the call list. They are telemarketers contracted to sell your local paper. They have different numbers they use as well.

Same issue as everyone else. Let's hope something is done about it.

I recommend sending everyone below an email and then calling them up and asking if they would please take you off of their call lists. I did this and they said they would remove me.

If you do not wish to receive calls from CROSS FM or Cross Fire Marketing, please send an e-mail to mgross@crossfire1.com to request removal from their list. Several people have done this and they actually received a reply stating they would be removed. I did this and this is the reply I got almost immediately after sending my email:
From CROSS FM: "I will handle removing your phone number from our calling files. I appoligize for the inconvenience.- Mickey Gross". So, it looks like it works. Try it! Hope this helps.

I have been receiving annoying calls from this number lately and this is what I found out about them. They are a telemarketing co called Cross Fire Marketing, used by the NAA(Newspaper Association of America)...yah!they have an asso TOO. If you have terminated ur newspaper subscription then u r on their list, either for collections, to renew or simply start a new account.

This number has been calling, 3-4 times per day, including Sundays, between 8am and 10pm, each time I pick up, I say "hello" up to six times or at least 2 minutes 30 seconds and each time no one answers. Friday night I asked the "nobody" on the other end to take me off of their call list. The following day and night, Saturday, they called again, and again, and again, and on the third call at 10pm I finally said, "stop calling my number if you're not going to answer, I will call the police and report this number for harassment the next time you call." and sure enough, today, Sunday, I received three more calls. I finally called my local police department's non-emergency number to report the harassment. They advised me to contact my local telephone service provider and make them aware of the problem, they told me to *57 on my phone after each call, up to 5 more calls and the police have sufficient evidence from those *57 traces to issue a warrant for harassment against whomever these calls are coming from. Because clearly, this is now a case of unethical business practices and unsolicited business harassment. If anyone else is receiving these calls, I suggest you do the same.

they arent allowed to leave voicemail... next time they call ask to get taken off of the national do not call list and they have bto remove your number... they calls should stop within 24-48 hrs to get out of system

They are hired by YOUR local newspaper company to market subscriptions. Evidently the newspaper companies do not screen or notify Cross Fire if the number is listed on the National Do Not Call list.

Cross Fire Marketing utilizes an automated dialing system that automatically dials phone numbers provided by your local phone company. When the system detects an answered call it transfers the connected call to one of their 25 marketing agents. If none are immediately available then the called party hears no one and assumes a prank call.
They only have 2 incoming lines so that's why when irritated people call back to the number they see on their caller ID no one ever answers.

Newspaper subscription soliciting company. They are hired by your local paper. Let your paper know you are not happy. This company violates the DNC list and then report to the DNC list. Keep track of times when reporting.

They have called three times today. 9:29A, 1:56P and 8:07P. We are on the DNC list. 1st call, no one there. 2nd call told not to call back. 3rd call told AGAIN not to call back. These folks are selling newspapers. Pain in the butt!!!

Tried to sell me a special on local paper delivery. I signed up but refused to give credit card info over the phone. When I asked to be billed instead, I got a quick "Thank you" and was hung up on. Now I regret giving my name and address; seemed strange that they didn't have it when they called. I expect I'll get more calls and lots of junk mail from them now, sigh. He wanted to deliver free News Paper for 4 weeks and wanted to know if I lived in house or appartment. When I told him, we already receive paper, he immediatly hung up without saying anything. I tried calling back; either it rings and rings, or I get busy signal.

i had a call at 12:51 this afternoon from this number (702-553-o512) they waited until answering machine finished the message and then they hung up without leaving one of their own. I called the number back and at first was busy then I tried once more and it rang without an answer until verizon came on and said there were difficulties. the caller id comes up showing the name as cross fm. These people unmercifully call my home up to five times a day - 7 days a week...to hawk a newspaper. They are using a random number generator and don't know who or where they are calling or if you already subscribe to the paper! I have tried asking nicely, screaming and cursing, and nothing works - they call and there is no one there, they call and hang up, and now their fake number is a local number here in NJ - that is no good (spoofed and against the law) rather than a Nevada number. The newspaper "OUTS" everyone here - they should be outed for using this crappy telemarketer!!!

Cross FM called twice today, once around 9am and then again at 3pm. I answered after two rings both times and each time there was no answer. Then the line went dead.

I do not answer callers I do not recognize. However, when they get our answering machine they just hang up.

You can stop some of these computer calls by recording the THREE TONES (line out of order telephone company tones)at the beginning of your message. The TeleZapper is useless as it only plays back one tone. You can play the three tones back through speakers near your answering machine and then quickly leave your outgoing message. Go here: scn.org The tones tell the computer that the line is no longer in service. It tricks most telemarketer predictive dialer programs into deleting your number from their master list.

They say it's my local paper. They continue to call even after telling them never to call again - multiple time. I also complained that they call and no one is on the line - I was rudely told it was a computer dialing and they only have a certain number of available operations so I need to hang on the line and wait for someone to pick up.

The predictive dialer software now enables telemarketers to manipulate the Caller ID information to show whatever they want. The dialer also calls multiple lines at once and then listens to see if it's an answering machine(then hangs up) or live voice. Every day twice a day and nobody's there.

I just moved into my new place and my number is unlisted. I have received calls daily from this number 702-553-0512, as well as, other numerous calls from other numbers that say Out of Area or Welcome Dept. The calls start at 8:05 AM and do not end until 9:00 PM. Fortunately, my phone has a voice id that says the name and number. I never answer them, but I have 90 year old parents that need to be able to call me and this is just an awful thing to do to people. I have had 12 calls in two days. It is making me crazy!

We receive various calls daily from CROSS FM (702) 553-0512... They never answer but make an annoying 'noise' and hang up.

These people are disgusting. I get at least 4 calls a day from them and I'm on the National Do Not Call list. Please everyone, file a complaint at donotcall.gov so they get investigated. But make sure you are on the Do Not Call list first.

Also, often times those telemarketers have computers that connect you to them (it's not the employee calling) which causes a lag in the call...meaning that for the first 5 seconds sometimes they employee can't hear you. That can seem very suspicious...but usually nothing wrong

I got this call at 18:29 EST on my cell phone. As far as I know, calling cell phones for telemarketing is not legal (comes out of your minutes) unless they have existing business with you...I could be wrong.

I found out that this is a marketing company that sells newspapers.. (here in Minneapolis its the pioneer press) I went to the pioneer press's website and wrote the editor telling him about all the calls that I am getting and how annoying it is, and the calls stopped...

well apparently being on the NCL does not phase them nor does the time limitations states have for callers. They called me at 11:45 on a Sunday night then again at 7:28 on Monday morning. Answered both times but noone there. If they are trying to sell local newspapers they need to do their homework, I live in a small rural community that papers are out 2 times a week.

Receive 2 or 3 calls every day from this number (Cross FM on caller ID)for past 2 months. They are a telemarketing company pushing a subscription to our local newspaper.

They called me this past weekend and solicited a Sunday Newspaper subscription which I accepted then a "verifier" came to the phone and asked if I wanted to pay by credit card and I immediately said no and they said okay and are supposedly sending me a Sunday Sun Sentinel newspaper subscription.

They started calling about 2 months ago. After 1 week, I browsed and found this site and realized they were telemarketers.

I decided to file a complaint with donotcall.gov EVERY single time they called. After about 2 weeks and nearly a dozen complaints filed, the calls stopped. I have not received another call again in over a month.

Maybe that works. Try filing a complaint with donotcall.gov EVERY single instance. That should get their attention.

They've pulled the same crap here in CA too. I say it's time to start putting pressure on the phone companies. (Verizon, SBC, Quest, etc.) No where in our land line contracts can I find clause stating we as consumers are subject to harassing, annoying, and inconsiderate calls by signing up and paying for their service. I'm canceling my landline. Most everyone knows to get ahold of people by cell or otherwise nowadays, why pay to deal with this garbage?? In Texas... cross fm has called at least 10 times in the past 4 days. Same thing... no one on the line then it disconnects. VERY BIZARE!! I'd really like to know what was up with this.

Then finally a guy named John said he was calling from The News Journal, a local newspaper. I told him he was calling a place of buisness. He apoligized and hung up.

They want you to call the # back and then they use your long distance to make a call and charge it to you. That's whay there is no answer, no one talking, and they just hang up. The lady at Pac West confirmed NetTracker's comment about manipulating the caller Id. So, whatever you do, do not call the number back.

These idiots called and my 8 year old daughter answered, they asked "are your parents home?" then hung up. I did some research and found this sight. I also dialed *57 which reports the number as a harrassing phone call I also used a selective block on the number so they shouldn't be able to call back. The National Do Not Call Registry is itself scammed. Telemarketers sign up just to get their phone lists. Nobody goes to prison for running telemarketing scams, which are disguised identity theft scams, which is why they do it. You have no legal recourse with these criminals. Don't answer, and don't call back.

Tried to sell me a special on local paper delivery

CROSS FM callED at 4:30PM on January 31, 2007 and didn't say a word..Hmm?:/

Called and didn't say a word.

i answered and they hung up. it was on my cell phone at approximately 11 AM. when i returned the call the "mailbox was full"

Has called 2 times so far. Listing is cross fm

It is Crossfire Marketing (thus the Cross FM on Caller ID). They have a website: crossfire1.com

If you go there and click on "newspaper" you will see that the Crossfire Newspaper Group is located in Las Vegas. If they are calling you when you really are on the Do Not Call list, you can file a complaint here: donotcall.gov

Remember that your Do Not Call list registration expires after 5 years.

Called four times in a row to work number on 24 Jan 07 at approx 3:30pm EST. Nothing when I picked up..All calls had just the number, but they just called while I'm typing this and it said DEHAEMER (sp?) MI.

I've received multiple calls from them over the last few weeks. Who ever called the last 2 times was apparently unaware of what voicemail is because my voicemail picked up and he was talking to his friend in the background and some of it contained profanity. I try to call the number back and it says that their mailbox is full which does not surprise me. I am annoyed, thank goodness I have free incoming phone calls.

Called at 7:12p.m. Called i.d. said Cross FM. I ran a check and said it was from las vegas. They didnt say anything so i called back and it said that their mailbox was full.

Well I'm glad I am not the only one. I have not answered b/c I don't know the number, but they leave no message. I tried calling back and it is busy. I've been getting calls in the mornings and on the weekends at night.I will answer the next time just to see.

Getting multiple calls from this number daily. Only thing displayed on caller ID but phone number 7025530512. Never leaves a message.

Have received constant calls from this number, Cross FM, for the past 2 weeks..they call 6 to 8 times a day. I finally picked up the phone today...stayed quiet and let my Christmas music play into the phone. A man said Hello...Hello...and then hung up. Next time they call I will answer it and end this malarkee! Just fed up!!!

They have called my cell several times a day for the past week, even Sunday morning. Come on!?! No ID comes up, so I don't answer. They don't leave any message. Going to make sure I'm registered on Do Not Call List, this is ridiculous. Report it if it continues.

The calls have just started. One last night (Fri) at 7:35 p.m. Another this morning (Sat) at 9:05 a.m. The calls are coming into my cell phone. Area code 508. Their phone number is appearing on my caller ID. I have not answered either call.

Received two calls last night - got fed up and called the number back only to get hung up on followed by constant busy signals. Called again first thing this morning and got a woman on the phone who identified her company as Crossfire Marketing (representing the Bergen Record). I informed her that I was going to file a formal complaint with the BBB - see how these sob's like that one!!!!

Doesn't leave a message. Caller ID reads CROSS FM and the phone number.

caller said he was from "The Record" (newspaper Bergen County, NJ)asking to subscribe.

Cross FM calls up to 3 times daily. Most of the time we don't answer. We answered the first time they called and no one was on the other line. I answered today and they tried to sell me my local paper which we already get.
I am on the Do Not Call Registry. Any advice on how I can get these calls to stop?

The next day after subscribing to a newspaper, Bay City Times, in Michigan, from a telemarketing firm in Las Vegas, we started receiving calls from this number = caller ID said CROSS FM. Leaves no voice message and is a blank line when we pick up. Tried to call back and no one picks up. Multiple calls. And we are the Do Not Call Registry and they still get through. Very annoying. WE are calling the Bay City Times to cancel and will tell them why. Oh, they also tried to get our credit card number over the phone and we said no. . . so callers beware. Dates called so far: 11/20 9:05 a.m., and 2:42 p.m. and 11/19 6:12 pm.

Just received a call @ 8:05 p.m. 11/17/06. They hung up when I answered. Caller ID says "unknown". They have called a few times before but it was a few months ago.

caller ID says 'wireless caller'. Attempted to call back, rang about 10 times...the line went silent...5 second pause...began ringing again, another 5 times or so. No answer.

They call every 30 minutes and it's getting really aggravating especially when I'm waiting for an important phone call and they keep calling. They try and sell me something different every time. Along with this number, a 702-835-0078 calls and does the same crap. I Joined the National Do Not Call Registry, and I still get these crap ass calls. Anyway, I hope they don't call again. kbye

Received call from them yesterday at 10:13am trying to get me to buy a subscription to my local newspaper. I WORK for my local newspaper. Contacted my boss about it and he has gotten calls too. Will not answer again.

I get several calls from this number everyday. When I pick up the phone, there is only silence or someone hangs up. I'm on the do not call list. I'm calling my phone company and complaining about this. The call says cross fm and the phone number on my caller id.

I got three calls tonight, in a row, over and over after 9pm. I've been getting these calls for a month. I'm sick of it and I would like to know who I can file suit with.

Received my first call on Wednesday PM, and a second call the following morning.
I had been going round and round with the FL Sun Sentinel to get my number removed from thier call list.
Out of curiosity I picked up the second call from Cross to see if they might now be calling on behalf of the Sun. I was right!
Per my request the Sun had stopped calling me. What they did do was move my name to this 3rd party agency.
The lady I spoke with at Cross was nice enough, she asked if I wanted to be put on thier DNC list.
I've since sent another complaint letter to the Sun for thieir continued efforts to solicit renewals from me.

this is their corporate hq and they have a sattelite office in Las Vegas that sells newspaper subs.

At least two calls a day for the past two weeks. Four calls yesterday. On the Do Not Call list and reported this number yesterday on their website.

Have been receiving these calls for weeks. The latest was 10/30/06 at 7:51pm ET. Answered this call, like many others from this number, but there is no response, like usual. I'm on DNC list and would love to find out who is calling.

They called several evenings this past week 10/23--10/28 and no one gets on the line. The caller ID shows Cross FM. When I dialed back the first time the would not even ring through, next time it just rang--after 25 rings I hung up.

Called twice today, didn't hear my cell ring which is what they are calling on. My cell is on the Do Not Call list.

Have received calls every half hour or so. When I tried to dial back, I recieved a busy signal
When I answered, there was no one on the line.

Display read : FM Cross, did not answer.
I am on the do not call list too. Redialed number, and it rang and rang.

Have received two calls today from this phone number.

They called on my home phone, I picked up and there was dead silence after three 'hello's. So I ended the call.

They keep calling and calling. They never leave a message. They won't respond when I say, "Hello". I am going to have to change my number.

10.22.06 - Ran lookup with a couple of sources; Only 5 businesses using prefix of 553 in that area code. No reverse listings 10 numbers before or after 702.55.0512.

# belongs to PacWest. PacWest website says It's an ISP, VOIP as well as cable TV provider.

NOTE; CID on commercial VOIP can be manipulated to reflect whatever you wish it to show on CID. Telemarketing, collection agencies and LEAs use VOIP to mask their ID.

Received occasional calls from them, about 2-3 times a week for about three months. I first answered the line by picking up the receiver and saying nothing. Then, subsequent calls were answered via the speakerphone, and then I played the "Telezapper" sound through my computer speakers. They hung up immediately. Haven't had a call back from them since. I guess my tactic has worked, and they've taken my number off of their computer rotation dialer. Write to me, "quotetime" at g mail if you want more info.

They call all time. Soon as you answer they hang up. Call the number back they answer and they hang up.

Never answered, but finally out of curiosity, I dialed the number on a military scrambled secure phone I possess (am top clearance, Commander USN) thinking perhaps it was a scam to get people to call back thus infiltrating personal info through the phone lines (it is possible and does happen, so those without the resources I have, be careful). Some young chicky answered, heard a bunch of late teen types in the background, after I said "who are you" they hung up. My best surmise is they are telemarketing late teens, early twenties who are being given a list of nationwide phone #'s to hawk newspaper subscriptions dependant on the area they get an answer. No harm, no foul...nothing to worry about, join the "do not call" registry if it bugs you that much (I did), but don't sweat it, they aren't harmful.
