Nuisance calls from these idiots and a lot. When I asked to speak to her supervisor I was put on hold~ (What a shock*_*)
I still get them, but never pick up my phone unless I know the caller... Now. I doubt the FCC will ever do anything to stop it. Just use your caller ID. I think is the only solution to harassment.

Non ringing call showed up on my incoming list as 0:00 long.

Boy, I'm getting use to these phone call's anymore. The funny thing is, mostly I just leave the call's go on. Well alittle while ago, I get a phone call from these folks. I asnwer the call, the guy starts telling me about this and about that and that my car warranty is about up. I play along and ask when and he says "today.." I ask "what would happen if it goes" and he tells me. Then I start to laugh and he hears me and he says it's not funny and then I say "Oh yes it is, I have no car so how can a car warranty be up today when I have none to have any kind of warranty on". The dude hung up on me.

Another fantastic opportunity for nothing. What a nuisance. The message sounded like this; “ This is not a telephone solicitation; your vehicles warranty is going to expire; press (1) for your representative.” I was board, so I entertained the option. Poor Carlos was the one who answered; after 10 minutes on hold. Why you might ask would I wait. Its not on my phone bill. Carlos immediately asked me my year, make and model of my vehicle. I immediately interjected; what is the name of the company you represent; “American Warranty Services”. My thoughts are how nice to have called me at home to inform me that warranty was going to expire; even though I do not have a warranty with them. Carlos then asked again “what was the year, make, and model of my vehicle.” I then asked Carlos; “You called me; to let me know the warranty was going to expire. I have 2 vehicles which one are you referring to.” I think this was to much pressure for Poor Carlos; he hung up. So sad. Maybe Carlos can find a job that does not require him to communicate with real people; maybe something along the lines of watching rocks erode to sand. FYI when you call the number back it has a message letting you know you are calling from the phone you just dialed from (incase you did not already know that number) and to press (1) if you want to be removed. AWS’s number is 1-800-935-5549.

These same people called me yesterday and I told them don't call anymore, and they called again today talking about my car warranty that they know nothing about.

2009-05-16 00:28:32 UTCIvan

I received a call from 702-520-0076. They said that the warranty on my vehicle was about to expire. They had no idea who I am or what vehicle (if any) I own. When you ask them any questions they hang up. This is obviously a scam.

2009-05-05 14:28:05 UTCKarin

I finally asked to speak with a rep. When the rep answered I asked for the name of the company and they said "American Warranty Company." I told them I had pressed the number 2 button to placed on the do not call list numerous times. I then asked to placed on the do not call list. He said "No Maam" then hung up on me!

2009-05-01 17:42:41 UTCManny

Report them to the FCC! I did! fcc.gov

Another nusance phone call.

2009-04-23 22:55:55 UTCGR

so this number called my tonight and I pressed one to speak to a live person regarding my auto warrenty that was about to expire, the fun part is that it expired a year ago... anyways I spoke to a live person who proceeded to insult me when i asked for a manager. At this point the person on the other end went swearing up a storm, calling me names because I would not give up on speaking to someone in charge... they then hung up when I told them I was reporting the number to the authorities for fruad. I find it to be very effective!

Quick follow-up: I just called American Warranty Services and talked to Chris Randall for about 15 minutes. Looks like these calls are *not* coming from American Warranty Services (and probably not Warranty Solutions either), but from companies operating illegally and giving names of legitimate operations when asked, in to avoid fines and trick more people into giving their information.

Apparently the only way to track down who's calling is to actually buy a warranty (with a credit card number you don't mind changing), and then immediately contest the charge with your credit card company. In this way the illegal phone calls can be tied to a merchant account. Then you can provide useful information in a complaint to your Attorney General and/or an industry watchdog group. I'm not sure I'm willing to go that far, but I'm considering it... I've been told that the major credit card companies do not accept voice recordings as authorization of a charge, so aside from the hassle of changing numbers it ought to be fairly safe.

2009-04-16 22:24:04 UTCFrustrated

Just to confirm, I was also given the company name "American Warranty Services". I've spoken with their employees several times over the phone and asked to be removed from their list, to no effect. To be honest, even if it is a scam, you'd think after 7 or 8 unsuccessful attempts it wouldn't be worth their while to keep calling.

2009-04-16 19:12:07 UTCI am me

I'm so sick & tired of these goddamn phone calls. I don't understand why this good for nothing, useless government won't do something to stop these calls. The do not call kist is useless and why should I have the burden to put myself on the list? I DON'T WANT THE FUCKING PHONE CALLS!!!!!!! What in the hell is so hard to understand about that? These idiots keep calling so I finally answered all good & pissed off looking to ruin some asshole's day. I asked "What do I have to do to make these FUCKING phone calls stop?". They can't be so oblivious to be unaware they're bothering people and just being pests. This arrogant piece of shit hung up on me. These bottom feeders serve no purpose and contribute nothing to this world so I see no reason to be nice and polite when they're the rude, intrusive ones bothering me. They can all die & go to hell. I could only hope one of these guys going on a shooting spree would take out one of these call centers someday. That would be a treat. I HATE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2009-04-16 15:37:34 UTCDave

I give them the make and model of my 88 ford truck. They were happy to take the information they are usually eager to sell a policy but not able to make the connection until all their information is filled in. When I have time I suck up a good 10-15 mins of their time. One of the best things to do is set up a post office box separate from your home and have all of your mail go there except for family and friends. Our local mail box store has recently installed a high speed shredder and they recycle the paper.

2009-04-13 22:16:03 UTCdonna

i have been getting thes calls for some time, usually it is a recording saying my warrenty is up, to day they said nothing.

2009-04-13 15:29:05 UTCMike Wilson

This company keeps calling me telling my vehicle warranty is about to expire, to the extent of up to seven times in one day. They are very rude/mouthy when you ask to be taken off their callback list. I have even been hung up three times by their employees when I tell them I do not have a warranty with them. When I call back I get an automated system telling me to press "1" to remove my number or "2" to enter a different number. I DO NOT recommend pressing "1" as I began to recieve more automated calls. When I pressed "2" and entered another number, that number began to recieve solicitations frequently.

2009-04-08 16:22:50 UTCannoying

i recieve numerous amounts of calls from these people daily! they say that my car warranty is up and that this is the last notice, yet they continue to call the rest of the day!

so annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

2009-04-03 22:30:15 UTCJane

I get calls from this and at least 2 other numbers daily with the same message about my car warranty expiring. That is simply impossible. The guy I spoke to said he was calling from Warranty Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia. I asked where he got my information from and he said he didn't know because he didn't call me-some line about being transferred when I pressed 1 or whatever. He said they work with all the major auto manufacturers. I this this is a phishing scam. If you google the company name other numbers with similar reports/complaints come up on this same blog. I reported this to my attorney general-I suggest others do the same. You can do it online in most states.

2009-04-02 21:04:02 UTCShawna

Who the heck are these people? My caller id says cell phone, no message. When I call back it just says you are calling from and hangs up.

2009-04-01 13:10:47 UTCJodie

My caller ID says it was from Sales Dept...no message left

2009-04-01 00:52:49 UTCBear

I have done extensive checking on this, and want to inform everybody who reads this, THIS IS A MAJOR SCAM/DATA HUNTER. Do not, under any circumstances give these people any information whatsoever. Do not even acknowledge that it is even a good number. Record all the information that you can and report it to your state Attorney Generals Office. If they are calling from a cell phone as is suspected, the AG's office can check phone records and possibly zero in on them.

2009-03-31 21:17:59 UTCmike

u call back and no answer bastads better stopp calling me

2009-03-31 17:59:25 UTCme too

identity on my land line is "cell phone".

2009-03-26 20:48:44 UTCconcerned

P.S. She said she works for American Warranty Services--she never gave a name when I asked.

2009-03-26 20:47:25 UTCconcerned

Wow, after seeing these folks call me everyday for months I finally answered. They asked me to give a reference number to get a warranty renewed (they apparently sent the reference number in the mail on a postcard). I said I would not give any information and frankly was concerned that they would ask for this. When I asked, "Well, I'm concerned that you are calling me and you don't know who I am." She said, "Is this so-and-so at such-and-such address." I said yes. She asked me for the make and model of the most recent car I purchased (which, by the way is not up for renewal until 2012). I said the car is in the driveway and I would not go outside to get it...then, of course, she hung up.

Scary, becuase I AM interested in renewing a warranty for another vehicle and almost gave her that information.

2009-03-24 01:28:54 UTCKaitlin

I get harassed by these guys 3-5 times DAILY!!! They call from two different numbers, the other being 757-990-8981, and a recorded voice comes on about my auto warranty (which I do not have) expiring. Each time I try to talk to a rep to tell them to take me off their list they hang up on me! I ask them EVERY TIME to stop calling and have even started the conversation with please don't hang up on me...which is responded with "of course not m'am and in case it does happen is this the correct number to call you back on." To which I reply, Please take me off the list and get hung up on. What do we have to do to get them to stop harassing us!?!? Beg!?!? Guess not cuz I've done that!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
