How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Caller ID said "unavailable" and " SO " , was I.

Rec'd call from Jason, card member services, Nov 17, 2010 at about 2:30pm WHICH I RECORDED word for word. I told him to 'do not call' me and I wanted to file a complaint with FTC.
HE TOLD ME REPEATEDLY HE WAS GOING TO KILL ME, KILL MY ENTIRE FAMILY, HE WAS GOING TO SLIT MY THROAT AND THAT HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO MY HOUSE TO DO IT. His conversation was laced with F bombs and other obscenities. He knew my EXACT ADDRESS!
I told him I was calling the FBI and Verizon and he laughed. Then he bye *itch and that was that.
I called Verizon and they said all they could do is put in a call block to that number; they don't do anything 'legal'.
From what I read nothing can be done realistically about telephoned death threats. The recommendation is to get a whistle....?!
If you call the FBI they say try the local police. The local police don't have jurisdiction for wherever these jerks call from.
I hope he does show up. I will be waiting for him.

Caller is Cardmember Services, offering better interest rates on credit cards. Prerecorded message instructs you to dial 9 to speak to agent. When you connect to agent and request name and number be removed from calling list, they hang up on you.
Didn't answer call.
4:56 PM Recorded message from "Rachel" from some credit card service offering to reduce your rate.
I just pressed some numbers and got connct to I believe persons name was Jason asking if I pressed 9 to reduce credit card rates I said just to remove my number from their call list so "Rachel" or he will not call anymore at that time he said for me to F___ you! when I said what he went into an obscenity rage when I said this will be reported he laughed and I hung up.

spoofed caller id. There is no '000' exchange in any area code.
This number showed up on my Caller ID and no message was left.
I received a call from this number and they just hung up. Weird number.
Anyone getting these calls?
