How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

These yo-yos just called me at 10:10pm!!! They said I won a trip to the Dominican Repbulic. After I yelled into the phone SCAMMERS I hung up on them!!
This is at least the third number from which I get the same scam: supposedly a survey that is important for the future of my country (yeah, right); I have been carefully selected (I'm sure) and, in return for participating, I win a 2-day cruise in the Bahamas. "To participate press 1, to be removed from our list, press 9."
I did not even press 9, as this would tell them this is a number where a real person answers the phone (which is really what they are after).
No message left on the answering machine.
As of 2:00 pm PDT, on Wed., July 18, 2012, a Google search shows only three other mentions of this phone number. None of those three (on other phone spam-reporting sites) reveal any information about the caller or its purpose.
It would probably be safe to guess that it's some sort of scam, though.
