This place called my FL # 3xs in 1 evening. The first 2xs, only breathing in my ear. Third time, I picked up, screamed "who is this?" An older sounding female stammered " is this a business?" My # is a residence, but what difference does it make? At least say something when YOUR call is answered. RUDE RUDE RUDE

You received a call from MKTG, Inc., a market research company seeking participation in some kind of survey. Could have been for a product or service you use, a political poll or from some other client seeking the public's opinion on some matter. Numbers are provided by the client(either customer lists or from voter registration lists) and are dialed by an automated predictive computer. This company is NOT a telemarketer of any kind and will not attempt to sell you anything so is therefore not subject to Do Not Call regulations which apply to telemarketers only.

these people called me too. they wanted to talk to me but they didn't say who they are. I am not anwsering the phone to them any more.

Two calls came in last night. Both after 9PM. No message left. I picked up the phone and said Do not call this number again. Didn't hear anyone on the other end. This is a DNC number on both state and Federal lists.

Calling repeatedly wanting us to do a survey. Told them over and over not call again, they call everyday about the same time and tonight they said "if you do our survey we will quit calling" they are obviously a fraudulent company.

Does not matter if you are on DNC list (though that helps your case) or whether they are a so-called survey company (not applicable here). They will do nothing of the kind as it will subject their illegal operation to judicial scrutiny which is the last thing they want.

I am unlisted and on the national no call list yet they still called

Today is October 17, 2011 a I just got a call from (631) 277-7025. I see that these people have a long running history of annoying calls. I did not answer the call, I have had this number for less than two weeks, I believe they are using spyware and targeting "smartphones" I do not have a smartphone. Just ignore the call, they will stop calling eventually.

Received several calls, up to twice daily, from these guys. They say they are a research firm taking a survey for a bank, so the "Do Not Call" list does not apply to them. They continued to call after I directly requested with their agent to cease and desist. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau did they stop. If you are being annoyed by these guys, file a complaint people. Or else this will continue forever.

Gosh they are so annoying and hang up on you when you dont give them the info they want.

This company has been calling my cell phone during dinner for three days straight. I tried calling the corporate number but it just rings and rings and rings. Survey or not this is harassment, plain and simple.

This company has been calling every day for well over a month. They never leave a message. I answered yesterday and heard the gal say they were calling on behalf of MKT. Inc. I informed her we are on the national no call list and please do not call back.

So, if Mktg, Inc., values my opinion so much, then why aren't they paying me for it? By calling and asking for it for free, they are opening the door for my verbally abusive response.

I would like to conduct my own market research using the following three questions:

-As an educated person, would you not agree that a person who has deliberately listed himself with the National Do Not Call Registry would not wish to receive unsolicited calls from ANY business?

-Would you not also agree that, regardless of the legality of the calls made as "market research", persons so registered would find any such calls intrusive and unwelcome?

-Would you not further agree that excluding persons so registered would result in a survey sample more receptive to participation, thus improving the efficiency and reliability of the survey effort?

I wonder how he would answer, if I called him? I am sure he wouldn't mind speaking with me, since that is the nature of his business, after all.

i wrote a ltter of complaint to NYS attorney general, and cc'd a copy to these people..this morning got 3 replies,from the company.they said they will remove my number..if EVERYONE did this, maybe the rules would change, or at LEAST these annoying people will put an "OPT OUT" option on callbacks.here's who replied..PLUS a telephone number to call THEM!!!!

Yesterday at 3:23PM, my telephone rang, when i picked it up, there was no one on, and the caller ID indicated a call from "MKT,INC" telephone # 631-277-7025.
I called the number, and heard a message saying that since they "are not trying to sell you anything" they are exempt from the National "Do not call" registry.
This is VERY aggravating, as I have difficulty walking, and to get to the phone, only to have a hang up, or a marketing survey is a hardship.
I don't understand why these companies get a free pass to annoy people. They are NOT a non profit organization. They sell the information they gather.
Most of these companies, having annoyed telephone customers have an "Opt Out" selection if you call back. Not THIS company! So, apparantly, they can just keep calling me, disrupting my day at will.
Is this fair? I think not.

They've called 3 times today! With so many people having caller ID, you'd think companies like this would go under! If they truly want to do a survey, they should do it online. There are plenty of totally legitimate survey sites you can join to earn points or cash. Plus, it's all voluntary so only people who are actually interested will respond.

I'm sure it's a marketing company, I've been getting several of these types of calls lately. They are EXEMPT from DO Not Call (DNC is a JOKE anyway people- wake up). Just tell them to remove you from their call list & be nice about it. If they continue to call, then get rude.

last night this number called and it was a political survey about the upcoming election. i would have ignored it, but i recognized it as a mystery number who had called before. i had been kinda wanting to get polled (sick, right?) so i took it. it was short, and to be honest i couldn't discern any bias

I have worked in the TM industry for years and they are farming for marketing data so they can sell your number, and since you answered their poll, it "might" be construed that you did business with them and they can call you to see you something even if you are on the Federal or your state's DNC list.

i would like to explain this business to all that may read this site in the future. i work for the company, and the do not call list does not apply to us because we are not telemarketers, we do not sell anything. the do not call list does not apply to opinion surveys, political surveys, and 1st party charitable organizations. we do legitimate research studies, we actually have done three surveys about the medicaid prescription drug plan, and all of the problems that it is calling. there are even times that that we offer you money for your time. you should give us a chance, you actually might be interested in what we have to say. and we have many wonderful, personable people working there

Today is 04/05/2008, phone just rang, I looked at caller ID and saw it was 631-277-7025 and it said Islip, New York. I didn't answer it, throwing the call into voicemail, whereby they CHOSE not to leave a message....I'm not only on the Do Not Call List, but I additionally have Privacy Director through the local phone company so I'm not sure how they get my number, except to say when one buys property or gets a business license, your phone number(s) becomes public record. I did call the County though 3 years ago and made them change the public information to a fax machine number in my home. This call, however, today, came through my home phone.

I looked into it and the DNC list doesn't apply.If you don't like it you need to complain to the companies that HIRED them in the first place, which you can't do if you don't pick up the phone and find out who that is. this company is a survey taker for a national insurance company. dnc is not applicable because you are all clients and consumers for the company that they are surveying about. dnc regs state that if you have done business with someone within the previous six months they have the right to contact you for numerous reason. also non profits are exempt, ( not applicable in this scenario)

I have received daily calls from a number of peasants from New York, calling from this number. They are on par with New York subway beggars, stinking of urea and malt liquor, or perhaps they are on more akin to loan sharks or numbers racketeers. Perhaps once they are shut down, they can find employment on Carl's Jr. or Hardee's commercials. Until then, their telephone number is blocked.

Black women representing herself as a representative from Bank of America wanting info on a transaction of mine. I knew this was bogus as I have had similiar calls, letters and E-mail. I reported it to BOA fraud division.

Tonight I spoke with Walter Kranepoll, who is a vice president of something there. He took me off their list, but I probed to find exactly what that included. He said it meant that I would not be called for this survey, but I could be called for one of the hundreds of other surveys they do. I ended up adding him to my blocked call list. I only get 10 numbers I can block, so I hope there aren't nine other jerks who are more obnoxious than Walter. He also indicated that he reads this site. Up yours Walter, and your mother too.

The guy said he was from George Washington University in New York and was calling about a loan I took out. I live in San Diego all the way across the country.

Received 2 calls from this number. My speaker phone was on and I heard a lot of talking in the background, the caller said hello twice and hung up. If you are on the Do Not Call List, the DNC system is complaint driven. The greater number of reports, the more likely this company will be fined. It's easy to report this number online.

These people have been calling for days. I finally got tied of them calling and picked up the phone to tell them to take me off the list. Got this call yesterday, Googled it and found this site, so I added them to my address book and set my Voice Response System to intercept the call, demand they do not call again, warn them that I'm logging all calls (which I am) and that I'll pursue legal action against them for further violations.

They called again today, so today would be the first time they got the new warning "greeting". Let's see if they call back :) At least I don't ever have to manually answer them again!

BTW: personally I think the 'national' DNC list has too many loopholes and too many unscrupulous callers ignore it. It's largely ineffective.

I received a call from this company tonight around 8:34 pm. It is the first call that I have got from them. The man on the other end said he was conducting a survey for Synovate in broken english, I told him that I couldn't understand him and could he spell it. He became irate and asked me "What you can't spell?"..Well, this didn't set well with a country boy from South Carolina and I became irate as well. I asked him to not call this house anymore and some other words.HA! I am so mad about this..I called the number listed above and here it is again..631-277-7000 and asked to speak to the manager..They connected me with Chris..I explained to him what happened and he said that he would find out who made the call and would fire them after we hung-up. I am on the Do Not Call list as well. I am contacting the Better Business of New York in the morning and file a formal complaint. It is uncalled for to have to deal with someone calling you at your residence at night and then acting rude, as if you have ruined their day for asking a simple question. I will advise everyone the outcome of what happens with the complaint. I am also going to call our State Senator in the morning as he is married to my first cousin. It is uncalled for and after looking at all the responses left, everyone feels the same..THIS HAS TO STOP!!!!

Ok so through-out my employment history i have been lucky enough(haha) to obtain 2 telemarketing jobs. I will b the first 2 say its difficult. However there are STRICT guidlines that are followed my company. The # of calls has nothing 2 do with it...And yes every call : answering machines, call backs, DNC requests, refusals, wrong #'s, & even hang-ups are all recorded...For the customer security, quality assurance,& our job security that way also the company who has contracted us knows exactly who & how they are being represented. But in the same breath I am also on the DNC registry & always will be. No thanks 2 companies like these that act so childish, unprofessional,pompous ect,ect. They keep calling even though I asked them to stop and that I am on the DNC list. The woman I spoke to was EXTREMELY rude and hung up on me after I ask them to stop calling. Hopefully that is the last time I hear from this company!!!!

They have called me 3 days in a row now. Always at 7.45 pm.

The first night, I asked how they got my number, and they immediately hung up on me.

The 2nd night (after looking at this web site), I told them I was a "refusal" and asked that they not call back any more - which they agreed to.

The 3rd night, I said that I had told them I was a refusal the night before and that they agreed to not call back any more. She said that the reason I was being called back was because they needed to speak to a woman, not a man - apparently only women are allowed to refuse to speak with them. Anyway, I said that I was the woman of the house, at which she appologized for not realizing that my deep voice was actually a woman. She agreed to put me in the system as a refusal.

I'm guessing they'll call back a 4th time, tomorrow evening at 7:45 pm. If they do call back, I'll see how long I can keep them on the line without actually answering their survey.

Does anyone know if they get paid by the hour, or by the # of calls they make?

Okay, this is the second time these people have called me, and when I do the callback feature, I get a nasal Yankee recording saying "you've reached Market Research" yada yada yada. I'm really sick of this stuff. How do we get THEM in trouble???

They called me twice this afternoon. The first time nobody spoke. The second time I said nothing until THEY spoke. They wanted to take a survey. I refused.

I have VOIP and can check all recent calls online. When I get these annoying calls, I use a great feature of my service. I have a list of numbers that get filtered and re-routed to another number. I just add the annoying caller to that list. It's the best feature I have ever had on a phone service.

Received a call at work at 12:30 pm while I was away from my office. They did not leave a verbal message but it sounded like a "boiler room" based on the numerous voices and movement I heard before they hung up.

They HAVE to check their email, one by one, for legitimacy. It shouldn't be long before they realize the same situation they've been putting us in. Obviously "normal" requests for number removal aren't being followed through, perhaps a different route? Flood their email having to do with hiring their services. They'll HAVE to check all their emails in case it's a legitimate request, but instead put in your phone number and demand to be taken off their list. The FCC rules apply to ANY entity calling from within the US and while they are not required to use the national Do Not Call registry listing they are in fact required to honor your request to remove your number.

If they do not they are subject to the same fines (upto $100 per day each day they are in violation, some state laws allow judge's to apply the triple threat clause, at which point it can be as much as $300 per day…)

According to Law Blogs this as well as many other #'s are becoming an annoyance and on a "thin line" between ethical and harrassing! Legislation needs to address this a bit more as there are soo many loop holes in our system...I'am on a DNC list,I have an unlisted #, and I do work for the FCC...document all times and dates, and if by a slim chance someone answers...inform them to cease all communications with you immediately and further more send them a certified letter demanding this and all you have contacted prior to this.
Ans last but not least make some "waves"...let the local and state legislators know this has gone far enough and regulations need to be re-structered!!

i have received many calls from this number and finally got to answer the call a little while ago. i interrupted the interviewer and told her that i didn't have time and started to say take me off your list...i literally got the "take me" out of my mouth when the girl on the other line started to talk over me at about 120mph and then hung up before i could ask her name or tell her what i wanted. my suggestion to anyone reading this? ask for the interviewer's name before you start to say anything about refusing the call. this girl knew what i was about to say and made sure that i was not able to say it!

I received two calls today, ON MY CELL PHONE! I answered the first one and was hung up on. The second one, I incidentally missed. But after checking this site, I'm glad I did. And to the employees posting here, if you're company is so professional and upright, then why do you hang up on people? Why not state your business and let people get on with their lives? I don't know how you got my cell phone number, but please stop what you're doing. I have received survey phone calls before and they were way more professional than what I've experienced thusfar from you all. And don't come on here talking about how you're professional and whatnot. I know this can't be just one rogue employee hanging up on people. By defaming the companies reputation, legal action can very easily be taken, so please, yet again, stop.

this is not the first number that has called me over the last 3 weeks, but my caller is from Manila, Philippines. They are tied into a US phone line and they will call and sell you time shares from "Global" and ink cartridges too! They talk funny because English is not their first language. I wish that we could stop them since we are all listed on the DNC list!

I just received a marketing research call from this company. The person on the other end of the line was about as intelligent and eloquent as Steve (see above posts). Although she was polite, her limited verbal and professional skills gave a highly negative impression of this organization.

On a final note, to all those who wrote of a law suit, what our company does is completely legal. What you people are doing however is not. You can very easily be brought up on charges of Libel (Written form of slander.) So i suggest when you wish to make such accusations and complaints, you do some research first.

You people also keep using the same words, "Rude, Annoying, When will these people understand." Then, preceding this is how you hung up immediately, haven't answered, or screamed at the people. If you use common sense, and take ten seconds to tell the person your not interested in the survey, please put me as a refusal, then you wont be called again, and you just made those people having to deal with you's lives alot easier. I work for the company, i'm one of the people who call. Where a research company, we do surveys, no sales involved whatsoever. As such, we are allowed to call people on the do not call list, and we are allowed to call on sundays. If you ask to be taken off of our list, as company policy, you are put into the computer as a refusal, and you aren't called back again. If you simply dont answer the phone, or hang up right away however, it's put into the computer as a callback, and the computer dials the number at a later time, most likely later in the week. It's simple quick surveys that help companys better fit your needs. If you honestly have the time to go on this site and complain, without doing any research on this number, than you had the time to give the common courtesy to the person doing thier job on the other end of the phone. See things from someone elses perspective once in a while. Would it have killed you people to have taken two minutes out of your day to answer a few questions, honestly???

Many do not know this but You have a right to tell the people to take your number off their list even if you are not on a DNC list. Let them know You have a right to sue them for $500.00 if they make more than 3 calls to you after you have told them not to call you anymore.Tell them that every time they make a call you are pressing *57 at the end of each call they make. once the call has ended you must do this before you make any other calls.this will record the number they called from to your telephone company. Once they make the 4th call you are eligible to sue them. Be sure to mark the times and dates of the calls. If everyone would warn them about this and this site they might just get the hint. just call the number at 631-277-7000 and warn them.

Called Tues 11/14/06 and Fri 11/17/06 at 6:28 and 5:58pm EDT respectively. (Interesting that those calls were exactly 30 minutes different). We are indeed on the DNC list and have been since it was first started in our state a couple years ago. We'll get call blocking if need be. It's worth the couple bucks a month to not be annoyed. I didn't use our phone number on the report because we are not just unlisted, we are unpublished. We don't give our number out to anyone. (In fact, we have a separate "public" number that we use. (It's also on the DNC list, but only unlisted, not unpublished as well.) Some things are worth the extra expense.)

When will companies/people understand that *we* are the ones paying for our phone lines and we should have the choice as to who may call us? I'd like to just go move into these people's homes... "Gee, yeah. You pay for this. So what? I can use it if I like." See how far that would get me...

New York Call - Did Not Answer

They call at least 2x a day. Been on going for a few wks now. For the past few days when I see the # come up on my caller id, I just pick up the phone and hang up, of course they call back to see if i'm going to answer. Very annoying.

Sheesh, I answered the phone in order to ask to be taken off the 'survey' call list and the guy said "Hi I'm ('Frank', maybe) from a marketing research firm and I would like to speak to the person who does most of the food shopping for the household."

I said - and I was polite about it (this time!) "Please put us on the 'do not call list'" and then made the mistake of adding "we're also on the State & Fed DNC lists" and he got really pissed off & said

"We aren't part of that! Get your story straight! Now, do you do the food shopping - YES or NO!"

I couldn't believe the guy was practically shouting at me so I said 'that's none of your god-damned business!' and he yelled - literally - 'FINE! HAVE A NICE DAY! IN FACT, HAVE A STUPENDOUS...' and that's about I hung up on him.

They called this morning, Sunday at 9am and have called a few times this past week. OUT OF AREA is what shows up on my caller id and I am on the DNC list. I don't answer the phone and they never leave a message.

I received a call from them at 9:00PM Mountain time, that would mean they were calling from NY at 11:00 PM. This is the 2nd call from them today. I have an unlisted # and I am on the do not call list.

They've got me now.. 4 times in the past two hours. I emailed that lawyer, I'm going to email them every day they call me.

First call was at 1945. My father answered the phone and interrupted the caller (I could hear the caller while sitting across the room) by saying "We are on the Do not call list, do not call here". IMMEDIATELY after hanging up the phone (the caller was still talking when he hung up) the same number called back. This time I answered the phone. The caller stated they did not adhere or work under DON policies. I informed him that I didn't care what policies he followed, he will follow my policy of not calling my house when instructed not to do so. He then went in to his spill of only taking 30 seconds of my time. I stated several times, I don't care what research, sales ect. he was doing, DO NOT call here. He then stated the "computer randomly dials numbers". I said if you see this number "randomly" come up again, cancel it. Guess what, immediately after I hung up on him, he called back a THIRD time. My father answered yet again and requested his supervisor, to which the caller ignored and kept on with his spill of only being a questionnare call. I don't care who you are, what your job is, but when you call a residence and are told twice to not call again, and you make a subsequent third call out of spite inside of a 2min period, you are commiting a crime in the State of Texas!

Told they did market research (surveys) I humored and answered a few that were not too personal. Update. I rec'd calls from a company in Renton, WA a few months ago that were similar to what is described here. They kept calling despite I requested they stop. Then I complained to the BBB of WA state and sent a letter to the WA state Attorney General's office. No more calls since. The company has asked me to resolve the BBB complaint but their abuse was so egregious I refused. I think this is the best course of action to get them to stop.

Glad I found this site. I got my call from these idiots at 8:45, 1st DNC in 3 years. I did file a complaint, not that I think it will do any good.

"Your phone number with the last four digits 6214 was registered in the National Do Not Call Registry on 7/7/2003. Most telemarketers will be required to stop calling you 31 days from your registration date. Your registration will (or did) expire on 7/8/2008."

I answered the call and the girl said she was from Waste Management wanting to know if I was a business or a rsidence. I called the number back and it was a marketing company!

Please notice that Steven Gittelman is the President of Mktg, Inc (according to their own website at mktginc.com) and he is also President of Board of Trustees of the Vanderbilt Museum (see vanderbiltmuseum.org). New York BBB (newyork.bbb.org) shows Chair Company of this museum as MKTG, Inc.

They identified themselves as a marketing co to my wife more than once. Once you tell them not to call, or that you will report them, they call MORE often, and then the Caller ID switches from showing their number to showing no number at all. We know it is still them since if you answer the phone, they identify themselves in a similar way without really revealing who they are.

They claim to be doing a "survey", but a legitimate survey company would not continually call and harass you.

Find their number on Caller ID. I called them back, but heard theirs announcement twice no way to leave VM. I'm on No call list (state & national) for very long time. I hate these calls.

631-277-7025 called at 7:58 PM PST to an area code 425 number, 9/15/2006. My wife answered and she was asked how many children were living at home. She replied that she didn't answer such questions over the phone. I was pleading with her to tell the caller to take us off their list and not to call us anymore but she hung up. Other times we didn't answer calls from this number.

I think this is Vonage? They never leave a message and call at all times including after 9PM. Not a good time for families.

I've filed a complaint with the "do not call" list on them. (You would think these people would block their number from Caller ID like most of these operations do.)

They have been calling everday for the last three weeks or so. But last night was the first time that someone actually said something. The first person called around 8:40p 9/12/06 and I asked that they don't call anymore and I hung up. The second call came at 8:58p a few minutes later. I told the girl that someone had just called and I don't want to be bothered. I told her I wan't taking my frustrations out on her but the calls needed to stop. She told me not to take it out on her, so I asked for her manager and she refused. She was telling someone nest to her that I'd asked for a manager and that she was trying to help me out. She also said that she didn't need this #$^* and continued cursing. I kept saying hello then she hung up on me.

I saw this number on my caller ID twice in July. In August they called again so I answered it. I told the girl I was on the DNC list but she insisted she wasn't selling anything. Of course DNC list or not, if she's not selling they CAN legally call, but I knew she was selling. I pretended to go along with the "survey" waiting for a sales pitch. She asked me 12 minutes of questions about the local supermarkets in my area and the sales pitch never came. The funny part is, when I told her the supermarket should bring back the paper bags, she said that a lot of people said that. Two weeks later, I went to the store and the paper bags were back!!!! God Damn, answer the phone! Help me save us!

I have an answering machine but when it picks up they hang up half way through the message. Very annoying as we have a day sleeper and the phone keeps waking him. I am on the National DNC list, but it seems worthless for MOST of these types of callers - they act as if they are above the law. It's an intensely invasive marketing method!

This company has called several times now in the last 2 weeks. When you pick up they hang up. This person called 7 times at my house even if i told them not to call back.

He then hung up on me without any confirmation that I've been removed from the list.

I received a call today that said "New York Call" and I let it go to the machine since I didn't recognize the number. They hung up once the answering machine came on.

When I answered the phone, they said they were FROM Waste Management & they were doing a service survey. Waste Management is our local garbage service.

I don't think they were necessarily from Waste Management, but that's how they presented themselves.
