SO BORD WITH THE 631 calls Only today 6 time.... Nobody answer when you say HELLO.... PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE who call????? i will be crazy in a few more call.

The number 631 repeatedly calls me and my wife. I have tried multiple times to find a source of the call as well as return the call. When trying to return the phone call to the number that appears on caller identification as 631 (Unknown), I get a recording which states the number is invalid and to please try again each and every time. Additionally, no messages are ever left on voicemail from this number for me or my wife. I would gladly return the call and speak to whomever it may be. However, with an invalid number and no message left with any details, it is an impossible task. I I I have contacted my phone company and they have been unable to help at all. They can't even identify the source or even the general vacinity from which the call may have originated.Unfortunately, each and every time that number calls, I am either away from the phone or the phone stops ringing or the call is terminated by the caller just as I answer the call. It has become annoying and quite a nuisance. The oddity of the same strange, illogically appearing number calling my wife AND me repeatedly is simply absurd and must cease. My company which I have owned for over a decade is based heavily on communication whether via phone, email, text, etc. So this is quite a problem in more ways than at first it may appear. Any assistance I could get concerning this issue would be appreciated. Should this issue not be remedied in the very near future, I will involve law enforcement and the FCC if necessary. Rec'd this call from "631" on Fri 1-27-2012. Have received 4 additional calls from the same number. No message. I will not call back anyone who doesn't leave a full number, etc. Also, called my office and the guy who left a message was a "Howard Jacobs". This is NOT the same company as Marquis Who's Who, which I have worked with their company for years. Many posts going back as far as 2009, say that Stanford Who's Who, asks you to purchase a "membership" or "award" to the tune of $780 USD. They will not cancel your "subscription" nor refund you. BEWARE!!!!

Get calls that show up as 631 on caller ID, they leave dead air, or sometimes you will hear someone eating messages. These were coming in as 1631 previously.

This is the Stanford Who's Who Directory. I know, beacuse I answered the call today. They pass themselves off as legitimate, but are a huge SCAM. Just do a search on Stanford Who's Who scam. Better Business Bureau rating of F. If they keep calling, just report them. Do not give them any information if you do pick up.

Just got a call on my cell from this number. A lady was asking about my profile for Stanford? Asked about my job and everything. Then asked my highest level of education and I told her, then she said you're still in ____?!? sent me a forward call and hung up. Weird

Got a call on my cell with ID showing 631. I missed the call, but I've had a lot of hangups lately, and I wonder if it's from these folks? No messages ever left. Have Comcast for cable/net and AT&T for cell. Lame!

Got a call twice from this number. Missed the call the first time and they didn't leave a voicemail but I answered the second time and they were asking me to complete a survey.

Getting calls from the 631 number and i decided to answer and a lady was on the other end asking for a jerry, some j name, and that wasn't me. Then she said is this, and said my number, i said yes and she hung-up! They have called more since then.

Getting called daily by this number on my new sprint cell phone - they do not leave voicemail. I assume they are selling something, but how did they get my number? I'm on do not call list.

Got a call this afternoon. By the time I decided to answer to see who it was they hung up. They left no message. The calls are definitely not from Cablevision. They are not available where I live. Neither is FIOS (BOO!). I recently disconnected my Qwest phoneline and got digital voice with Comcast. Also, disconnected Earthlink account for high speed internet through Comcast. Maybe it is one of them? All of my bills are paid on time, so there is no one who would be calling to collect. Unless the jerk who used to have my phone number is still giving this number as his phone # and not paying his bills. I thought I finally got rid of those people!

I've been getting this call every day. Sometimes when I pick up, no one is there. Answered it today, and they were looking for my husband. When I said he wasn't available, they said they'd try back later. I asked if I could tell him who called, and they said they wanted to take a survey, then promptly hung up.

631 called they left a voice mail it was cablevision very tricky.

The calls are from Cablevision. They are calling non-stop especially if you changed over to FIOS. The deals they're offering sounds reasonable but not sure if you can trust a company that will hound you like this.

Call on my husband's cell phone, caller ID only said "631". First time he didn't answer, the second time he answered, they asked for me. He told they could speak to me, but they had the wrong number for me. The caller took that to mean it was a wrong number altogether and hung up and we can't call them back. Who was this???

They called Sept 3 at 1:08pm and at 10:51am. The only caller ID is "No Name" and the only phone number is 631. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a number. When I returned the call I got a recording that said it was an invalid number. Who is it? How do I get them to stop calling? How do I block it?

CID says Out of Area 631. Didn't answer it, but yet another sales call, I imagine. Don't these people ever give up. So many 800 Service, warranty calls, etc. They should be outlawed!

This is the IRR collection agency. I have written about what I finally had to do with my cellphone to make them stop calling from all their different numbers.

UPDATE - Now receiving up to 5 calls a day from "631"-- They start at 11:24 a.m. every day - no one on the line - I'm reporting this to Nextel - it's out of hand!

yup same thing - just shows "631" is calling. nobody on other end and no message is left. driving me CRAZY !!

on 7/13/07 I got a call on my cell phone with only these three numbers showing. No message left.
