If you wish to limit the amount of "spam" you get on your "cell phones," FIRST, never answer your phone unless you know who is calling. You do have voice mail, why not take advantage of it.

Not answering WORKS. I never answer my phone unless I know who is calling. I never get "spam" and even if I do, its not like I am "reading/listening" to it, I am blissfully unaware of spam on my phone.

IF all else fails, and you are willing to do it. Change Your Number. Cell phone companies will let you do it for free. You still keep your phone, and all its accessories, you simply have a brand new fresh unspammed phone number!

The parent corp is not course advisor nor has any affiliation with the Wash Post. I called Education Decisions 888-640-9050 and they clarified who they are and how they got my number.
Apparently my wife had requested information online about medical billing programs and they called back and reached me.

Their parent company is a subsidary of The Washington Post! (see course advisors website)

some homo calls and hangs up as soon as I pick up, I guess they dont want to work... when I call the number back it just continously plays some gay ass music and no 1 ever picks up, I'm guessing its some fag rights organization or something based on the music selection.

Got a call 4 times today. Called a number someone recommended here (616-980-2294) - someone picked up the phone right away (I called 3 minutes before 10pm - apparently the time they "close"). A lady said that she'll take me off the calling list and that it can take up to 72 hours for it to be processed. We shall see...

I get an average of 15 calls from this number each and every day. They call as late as 10:00 pm and as early as 7:30 am.
When it going to stop???

I have filed a complaint with the FTC. We need to get many as many complaints as possible to shut these guys down. I have a number that is similar and Education Decisions is clearing employing some kind of CallerID spoofing to make it appear that some calls are coming from my number. I have received 200+ calls back since mid February from angry people who tell me that Education Decisions called them.

They have called me a lot. If you call them back, it will be continuing education services. Don't bother entering your number on the do not call list...it won't work. And I never got a hold of a "representative." Someone suggested putting your number on this do not call list...I tried it just now...I don't know if it works yet though.

Education services have nothing to do with state or federal no call lists...apparently they are exempt?...

I've received calls from this number for the past two weeks. Each time I answer, there is silence and finally, the line goes dead. Does anyone know how to stop whoever it is from calling my number? Is there a governmental agency that the calls can be reported to?

They have been calling at least 5 times a day I have called back the recording says 'Contining Education' the option to be added to there do not call list is not working it disconects and they still call back

Do not answer the call. If you answer, the company will continue to call you. Cell phone numbers are becoming like e-mail addresses; wherein Spam and Unwanted calls will be received. Do with the calls what you would do with an e-mail from an unknown source, do not answer it or respond. A response only validates their connection, and they will continue to call you.

I happen to have a similar phone number. This company seems to be using a callerID spoof with my phone number to call many people across the country. The people who have received the hangups(some from Education Decis. of Lombard, Il. or some with no id) that appear to be from my number are calling my family. We have received nearly 200 phone calls. Although most of the people calling us are nice (but frustrated), some have actually been angry and threatening - threatening my family who never even called them! Imagine young children hearing curse filled threats on the family's answering machine. It has been a nightmare! Some have called us at 2am. My children are being awakened at night and are frightened. We are going to have to change our phone number! Think of how inconvenient it is to have to change your number with all your Drs., Schools, accounts, etc. What a total pain! I am thinking of pressing charges or suing them.

I've been called by them several times this week. When I pick up they hang up. Today for the first time the man on the other line said "Hello?" then I lost him.

I keep getting a call from them and I always tell them "I'm already in college...PLEASE STOP CALLING ME!!!" And they ended up calling me AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!

I keep getting this number on my cell phone and when i call back, all I get is a recording of the nutcracker suit!!

This is a online college telemarketing call. They claim they want to help you enroll to one of many online colleges.
1. They are no calling from America but thru America... They have such a thick mid-eastern accent and they can't understand you either.
2. They do not honor the National Do Not Call list.
3. They claimed I signed up online to receive a call... BULL! I am already enrolled in an Online college, why would I need them?
4. When you return the call, you get the Nutcracker Music. If they decide to answer... you get hung up on.
5. Every time I tried to answer their calls, they hung up on me... As if they are pinging my cell phone or something!

In the past few days, I have received (and purposely missed) several calls from this number. The only ID is the number. The one time I did answer, I was presented with the beginning of an educational promotion - I cut him off with the information that "I am now old enough to be on Medicare, am retired, already have a degree and do not wish to return to school. And, while you are at it, take this number off your calling list." Without further ado, I meant to hang up on this rude male caller but he beat me to the punch.
I guess the take me off the list didn't register with him as I am still getting calls from this number.

Probable reason for call: Collection of active land and cell phone lines

Received multiple calls last week (02.24.2009 - 02.27.2009). Called back on blocked line. After listening to the 74 seconds of 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' I received Only 2 options - (1)"Press 1 to be added to our do not call list", this being followed by an automated "Please enter your 10 digit telephone number" with an instant disconnect once a number is entered;
or
(2) "Thank you for calling 'Contining Education'. We apologize that you may not have recognized our number. Press 1 to be added to our do not call list, press 2 to speak to the education advisor about the convenient options available today to get a major university degree online." Selecting this option places you in a continual loop of music.

I got call from this phone like 3 time a day .. when you call back you just get music

I did find 1-888-640-9007 as eductiondecisionsonline.com and they claim they are removing my number.. I threatened charges being filed not that did any good. We shall see

Ive had about enough of this number harrasing me about 6 times a day. They gave one time a 201 area code phone number... does anyone have that number... they said it fast and I only got 201-257.. if you can help, phil@heroesonpatrol.com

We are getting calls from this number up to 10 times every day. I have called back and it says press 1 and enter your 10 digit number to be removed. I did this and it did no good. You can press 2 to speak to a rep., well after being on hold 20-30 minutes you kind of get tired of waiting.
