How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This company called looking for a neighbor of mine, whom I don't know asking her to return the call at 800-949-0840 x-2876. Leaving the name Shawn. This is not the only time this has happened. I returned the call and asked since when do you call neighbors looking for someone. I asked for a second time to be removed from their calling list. They would not tell me what company/business they were. Very annoying.
Called asking for a guy with the initials DK, said we were a business and had no one by that name working here. This person called on our non-published private roll-over line at our office. This is not the first time either, but usually the caller ID says Private or has all Zero's

CPS called stating they were CPS Legal Department and asked for my husband and stated that he was a reference for M. L. (initials for privacy) and it was urgent that my husband return the call as soon as possible. The call back number given was 800-979-0847 Ext. 287. My husband returned the call and entered the ext. # which did not put him through to the Legal Department but to general customer service. The representative immediately asked for my husbands SS# and he refused stating that he was not a customer of CPS and that the message he received was that he was a reference for one of their clients. The representative seemed quite confused by this and after some searching found the client and stated that they were going over M.L.'s references hoping that my husband could reach him and give him the message to contact CPS since they were having trouble reaching him about not paying his payments.
I think this whole reference scenerio was a load of poop, since this M.L. person just moved next door two months ago and before that he was in prison for several years (our neighborhood used to be a nice place). I think M.L. is just avoiding the calls and this company has been searching the addresses to find the phone numbers of neighbors that would be willing to give him the message to call them. Needless to say my husband did deliver the message along with a few more choice words!!!
