Who Called Us

I STARTED GETTING CALLS 5 DAYS AGO, 3X A DAY. INDIAN ACCENT MEN SAYING I WAS A VICTIM OF FRAUD(MONEY HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCT- THEY SAY) THEY WANT ME TO GIVE MY ROUTING NUMBER TO MY CHECKING ACCT. I TOLD THEM NO STOP CALLING AND THEY GET VERY ANGRY. THEY EVEN TRIED TO GET MY DAUGHTER TO GIVE THEM INFO. MY HUSBAND *69 THE NUMBER AND IT WENT TO BOSTON, THEY SAID THEY WERE FROM NEW YORK(CHAMPAGNE ST.) WHAT DO I DO. I HAVE CLOSED MY ACCTS FOR SAFETY. FBI?

Person called and asked for member of household. I told them the person was not home and asked who was calling. The party on the other end stated "it is none of your business" and became very rude.

Usually don't ans. numbers I don't know but was right by phone and thought well if I answer it then I can tell them to pls. quit calling. It was a recorded msg. as follows. "Thank you for all that you have done and for all that you do. I love you and thank you. From a friend." I thought that was actually pretty nice but after going to another site this is a number with a myriad of instances ranging from hang-ups to obscenity. I believe they are setting me up to make sure I ans. phone next time I see the number. That will definitely not happen.

I had 7 missed cell calls yesterday from these bozos. I answered one at 6pm. "Jeff Wilson" (yeah, right, Sangupta) from NY (Boston area code) was with the fraud recovery unit and "was I missing any money from my accounts?" I told him I was on the No-Call list and to take me off immediately. The next auto-dial call came 7 minutes later. Then another, which, as it was my free minutes time and I was somewhat bored, I answered. I told "Phil" that I was, indeed, missing $3,275,034.73 from my account. He repeated the wrong number back so I told him again. He got quite excited and asked if I was serious. I laughed, said "no, how could anyone take this seriously" and hung up. I may or may not get any more calls, but it relieved the frustration of these con artists, even if only for a moment.

India accent. Has called my parents (both are over 90 yrs old) multiple times regarding their medicare coverage. Very demanding, ordered my hard-of-hearing Mom to "get out your checkbook and give me the account number". She hung up and he immediately called back, rinse and repeat. One of the caregivers finally answered and they were verbally abusive to her as well. Reported to do not call.

This guy with an indian accents is a sales rep for a telemarketing company called PNI from the Phillipines and the only purpose is to get your bank account saying it is to deposit a US grant for you. Then you find money taken out of your account. One of the companies they work for is National Health Care Solutions. Be careful.

Same number called again last night at 9:45 p.m. Who do I report them to?
If he calls again tonight,I am blowing my police whistle as loud as I can into the phone. May a little eardrum pain will stop him for awhile.

recieved a call from this company saying that they had $600.00 that they had collected that was taking out of our checking account. Wanted our new account information to deposit it in. When my husband asked to many questions they hung up.

I got a call from this number, nobody on the line. I called it back and the number is disconnected.

I used to answer this call and tell them not to call anymore. After trying that many times, the calls continued. I no longer bother to answer calls from that number, but now they call even more often. This has been goin on for well over 1 year and my phone carrier AT&T will do nothing to help stop calls from this number! I too am on the do not call list, but since they are not governed by "US" laws, they don't care.

The person who called sounded like a foreign lady. They called my cell and upon amswering, the ONLY word I understood was my husbands name and then it was followed by words that could not be understood. I asked "what" and more words that were not understandable followed by "call later" and hung up on me. If the number is issued the government should be able to track it. For heavens sake, we can see other countries from space. They could do something if they were "for the people."

Second call from 1-617-224-0808 on December 15th 2:12 PM caller ID UNKNOWN I did not answer the phone after recognizing the number and the call stopped after the answering machine picked up and of course this lame person did not leave a message.
I called my phone service provider the first time this happened and they blocked the number, but somehow this person got around their blocking software so they are going to investigate this caller for phishing/scams and harrassment.
According to thedirectory.org this number is in Boston Mass and is a CLEC number which is a competitive local exchange carrier.

We are a collision center. We received a call from this number on 12/14/07 at 3:18pm. They asked for the business owner and when told they could not come to the phone at this time..may I please take a message, they said "ugh" and then asked for another business owner, once I said they was not available may I please take a message, they hung up on me! I called the number back and it says it is not available. I would like to them not to call back if they can't leave a message and can't be respectful!

two calls from this number, the first left a message and mocked my greeting on my answering machine. the 2nd call they hung up when i answered.

I asked the person not to call my number, and then he started harassing me with profanity. When I didn't respond, I could hear other telemarketers in the background. He then hung up. It's frigging b.s. how this is allowed to happen, and then I can't even call back the number being shown on my caller i.d, which is 617-224-0808.

caller display appeared 617-224-0808 many times at least 2 times a day, when I got it nobody answers. tried to search the number thru internet It is???.

Just got a call from this number.12/11 3:45 pm ET. Sounded like a young girl, maybe in her 20's. Seemed like she also had a slight accent, not too much. She could be spanish. Answering machine picked up since I don't answer my phone any more because of annoying calls like this one. She kept saying hello, about 3-4 times, then hung up. I did *69 and got number

a male voice sounding of indian persuasion called and wanted my fiance to varify his banking info it started by saying hello hello and then my other half argued the validity and authentication of this call the man called him "a stupid man" and my fiance about lost it. I hope they catch this creep

This is an identity theft ring. They are attempting to obtain people's personal indentification. Contact the Federal Trade Commission. We've been contacted by these people numerous times. They are rude on the answering machine; They hang up on you or never say anything. They have said they are from telephone companies to satellite companies and US government. Don't be scammed. Please be aware!!!!!!!

Called and said he had a medical card. Had to verfiy bank and wanted bank number. I told him I do not give out this information.. and hung up...called back 10 min later. hung up and called again and called once more. Wants to know about direct deposit of Social Security Could hardly understand him. Scam. Needs to be reported.

caller sounded foreign; explained that my husband had money removed from his banking account fraudulantly some years ago. Refused to give any detail information; got rude when asked questions about details. Very "fishy"!

I receive these calls every year around Christmas time. As ususal the arab voice on the phone tells me that my identification number was selected to receive #3000 in three day from the revenue service. I tell this person kindly that I wish for my number to removed from their calling service. The man asks why. I reply with this is a scam. This time around he tells me that he will prove to me that this is not a scam is I give him a kiss. I tell him no and to stop calling me. Well he has called several times today and tells me that he loves me and will find me. I asked what country he was calling from and he relunctly said he was from OHIO. Then I asked for a city, after thirty secounds the person with him speaking clear English said Clevlend. I wonder if that person is even in this country. Anyway I made a police report to at least report. I do not know who this is, but this is ridiculous and needs to stop. Please P.S. If you get a call from someone you don't know or do business with do not give them any person information; even your name; protective yourself and family. Thanks. :)

This number called me and stated that my identity had been stolen and that they are a recovery company. They said money stolen from me has been recovered and they wanted to know which back I wanted that money put into. I asked them WHICH bank account had it been stolen from and they hung up. Indian bastard, sounds like a fraud to me.

Dec 8/07 (12:45pm). I just got a call from this number 617-224-0808 but didn't pick it up, cause I live in Canada, and didn't recognize the area code.

When I answered,it was silent for a moment,then a foriegn man gives me a "Sprint" cell phone offer,I was "randomly selected" to be qualified for at for $39.00.Blah blah...Eventually it was to get my S.S.# (which I did not give)I acted interested,but suspisious & asked for a contact number so I can look into offer & call back & accept it,etc...Eventually,he gave phone to "supervisor" who was of a British origin.He agreed to give me "reply contact info" IF I agreed 100% that if he gave it,I'd give my social..I agreed...Got 1-800-8843-124 which is a not in service number.i know it was the number he gave me b/c I had him repeat it 3 times.Definate scam call,do not give any info,no matter WHO they say they work for.

I just talked to the Scam guy from India I think, He was trying to convince me I had reported money taken from my Bank account by tella marketers. After repeadly having him repeat this because of a bad connection, and the fact I never understood where he said he was from, I finally told him no several times and he became very argumentative , and told me I just could not remember. I told him to call back on another line so I could understand him , he acted funny and said ugh oh oh and I hung up.

I know it was a scam!!!

I am on an no call list how do these people get out numbers, this is my home, not a cell phone.

some indian dude called from some company and told me he was sending me my medical card. the guy had my house address....which isn't displayed anywhere even when you search my number from google. Kinda weird so I hung up. Then the number called back twice more and there was no one on the other line.

Threatened me after I asked to be removed from calling list. Used foul and abusive language. Would love to get my hands on is fuzzy little raton.

Claimed it was my bank & someone was trying to get into my bank account, so would I please give my account # to confirm it was really me on the phone?(!)

This is getting annoying. They called yesterday and today. I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message. What do they want?

Report these fools to donotcall.gov so they get the fines they deserve. They shouldn't be calling you (or me).

Indian man calling wanting me to give him my bank rounting number and account number... i refuesed but they are persistant. Claiming that the government is giving money away and I have $3000 waiting to be deposited in my account. I called my bank and they advised me to never give my account number... they kept calling until I threatened to call the cops with their number and shit.... they are totaly fony!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!!!!

I just received a phone call from this Indian scam artist everyone is talking about. The number that should up is 617-224-0808, called 2 times in a row 11/29/07 -- I didn't pick up because I changed my ring tone to birds churping and I really thought it was birds churping.
Everyone be on the lookout there are more and more scam artists out there (Christmas time - you will get more) Can't the government get involved and track this parisite??? oh., never mind....that WAS a stupid question!

Called me for the past 3 days. I did not answer until today:
Him: Hello, may I talk to the head of your household?
Me: You have reached a mobile phone.
Him: I am calling from GE Services.
Me: You are calling from GE Services?
...then he hung up.

on caller ID this morning, 8:12 PM UNKNOWN 6172240808. they did not leave a message.

Just received a call on my non-published cell phone from a guy saying 'a few months ago you participated in a survey with GE...do you remember? You may not as it was a while ago. Anyway, you qualify for a GE security system. In order to benefit from this you must be a home owner, are you a home owner?" To which I said I wasn't interested in anything he had and hung up. He sounded Indian in origin and called my cell phone - which is a Stamford, CT number. After searching on the Internet, it appears as though many people in the (203) area code have been contacted. He is calling from (617) which appears to be a Boston area code. Not sure how to report this but it should be reported to someone. Sounds like a scam to me.

Call came in on my mobile phone. Rang 7 times before I picked up. Call ended as soon as I said Hello. Then I googled the number and found this page. Now I'm glad I missed them!

I get about 2 phone calls a day from this number and no one answers, it's really annoying.

Didn't recognize the number. Erased it from my phone. I do not answer cals the come up "UNKNOWN" on my phone.

Yea i just received a call from an Indian guy saying that his name is John Victor and that he is calling from the US Grant Office, he was saying that my name and number have been selected by the US gov. and that they were ganna send me a check tomorrow morning for $3,500. So I said OK, sure. He knew all my info too, like name, address, home phone number, which is weird because he called my cell phone. Then he started asking me for my bank routing number and i wouldn't give it to him i just told him what bank i use, so he looked up the bank routing number and he asked me for my account number. When i said no he called me something and hung up, i cant call back either.

This man with Indian (as in India) called with caller ID showing 6172240808. He said that his company needed to mail a card to the senior citizen they needed for the medical, dental, vision, etc. I asked what ins co and he mumbled a name. I asked where they were located and he said NY (with a Boston area code). I wouldn't give information and told him that is he was supposed to send someting to go ahead and send it. He hung up. When I called the 617 number it comes up as a disconnected number.

This is the 2nd time this person called. Both times he was 'representing the US Government' and offering us a grant... yeah right

Someone with a foreign accent saying that they were from American Mortgage. When he was advised that my number was on the 'do not call registry' he hung up.

Hangup call. Dialed back and got a message staying "this number is not in service."

It was 3:00 pm and a recording began. What agency can make an arrest of these people?

The person said that it was "an Online Education Service" and that I had placed a request online to receive more information about obtaining education online, which I think is odd as my husband and I already have degrees. I never put my cell number online, unless I know the site, so how would my e-mail address, if indeen I wrote it somewhere, generate a call to my cell?? I told him to stop calling and to please delete my number off their list. He hung up.

I don't answer any "unavailable" callers anymore. All my previous "unavailable" calls have usually been persons from either India or Pakistan trying to sell me something. They are extremely persistant and call me about 3 days a week. Since I don't answer anymore, they will call me back about 3 times on the same day. I've tried everything to block them but since they don't have caller ID, you can't. So I just don't answer these phone calls anymore. If it is a legit party calling me with an unavailable name and number, then they will leave me a message on my answering machine. If it is these con artists calling, they have never leave a message.

indian sounding man, said he was calling from california, from such and such company, then i told him i never gave him my number..he told me "go to hell" and i called him an A.H. and hung up on him...they are mot likely con artist trying to rip people off with credit card scams..this happens cause crediat cards companies sell your info to creeps like this..they really nead to be reported and investigated....

Someone called today and asked if I was the owner of my cell number, I asked who wants to know, silence. Person sounded like a black woman. I do not know anyone in boston.

I can not call this number back and I do not know any one from Boston, Mass.
