Well, if it's HSBC calling you, then here's a number to call them back: 1-866-423-6584. That's the number they told me to call when sent me spam mail via USPS to tell me they would lower my car payment from $290 a month to $240 (how did they find out my car payment) and that I was paying too high and interest rate, which they were generously going to LOWER to 15.99%. Considering I'm paying 7.5% now, this doesn't sound like a bargain. But hey, at least they provided a phone number so I could pass it on to you good people. Enjoy!

This is a very aggressive solicitor. You're best bet is to use a phone service that allows you to manage selective call forwarding. They seem to be catching on to that trick, so when they call from a different number, I just add it to the list of numbers that I forward directly back to their own toll free number. I get on average, 10+ calls a day from HSBC. After today's increase in their attempts(up to 38 now - it's 9pm and they're still calling), I plan to cancel my credit card with this bank. I recomend anyone that holds an account with Orchard Bank or HSBC, CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL your account. Even if you still have a balance with them, you can close the account and still pay the minimum until paid off. Once the realationship is closed, you can then sue for damages if they continue to call after you have requested in writting that they stop. As long as you're a card holder or owe a balance, they have the right to call you all they want.

I have been getting calls from this # since November. They don't give up! I am on the do not call list & keep reporting them to no avail. What's the use of being on the list?

I found a toll free number 1 888-404-4050 and talked to a nice young lady. After naming several card companies and banks, she asked if I knew a Jeff something, I said no, and apparently he had my number last year, She said she would take the number off and hopefully calls would stop. We will see. I will still monitor the calls and report them each time, regardless.

Folks receiving these crap calls may like to also read at this link as well: 800notes.com and vice-versa. You may want to call HSBC's HQs at 1-847-564-5000 and ask to speak with Michael Haynes. Michael is some sort of an Executive with this crap outfit. Another Caller ID number this crap outfit uses is: 571-283-6424. But besides pursuing things like your Stat's Attorney General's office in order to register formal complaints (this has nothing to do with the do-not-call-registry, this has to do with requesting they stop calling and then if they continue 3 more time you have their butts cold)I highly recommend that you get yourself a freebie account with GrandCentral.com (A Google owned company) and use the phone number they will supply to you (in your own area code) on ALL consumer business related transactions (credit cards, utilities, cable companies, etc, etc ... bascially anyone except friends and relatives who you really want to hear from. Put your new GrandCentral.com number on a personal/business card if you can't recall it ... and give that number out first in order to defeat these crap companies who share your regular number with 3rd parties at their whim, OR who have been known to lose or otherwise mishandle your personal data.

Doesn't leave message on answering machine. Just hangs up. They call around three times or more every day.

Another HSBC marketing number, I think. They have been calling for about a month now, asking for my husband by his first name. He has an Orchard Bank card, perhaps that is why? When I ask if I can take a message, the guy just says it is not important and he will call back. Which he does.

Caller ID says from HSBC, but caller asks for my wife by name. She has two Orchard Bank cards which are owned by HSBC. Will Not leave message. Am up to date on payments so it must be a marketing call.

I answered the phone. The caller asked for my husband. I hate telemarketers and told him not to call. He answered back with a stupid answer, we got into a verbal sparring. I told him not to call back and he continued with his smart mouth. I hung up on him and he called every half hour from 800-446-1022. Apparently this number is a problem for people too.

Just got off the phone,
you are not going to belive this...Same thing as these guys(credit protection etc., will not speak to my wife who normally answers the phone they just hang up, no messages, no response to 'NO THANKS AND DON'T CALL)Phone call I received tonight had a heavy breather thats right I typed HEAVY BREATHER. I hung up, tried to call back only to find that my home phone is blocked and may not call that number back(Got the message 'your call may not be completed as dialed...), but my cell phone did. I then got the standard "ICT for HSBC". So I called HSBC. They almost didn't even know who ICT was until
I threatened to cancel my account, and miraculously their memory improved and said they would address it and I would be off all solicitation lists within 48 - 72 hours. I doubt it. I am contacting the NC attorny general on this one

2007-08-23 21:24:34 UTCwendy

no message left the phone rang 3 times and hung up

2007-08-08 03:28:24 UTCHeather

So annoying! I've told them to stop calling, and they keep calling. Now I just don't answer, but they are calling at least once a day... It's HSBC. I called them back and pressed 2 to enter my phone number. According to the message it can take up to 30 days... we'll see what happens!

2007-08-07 22:25:24 UTCBev

From HSBC. I enrolled in their credit protection plan for .84 on the 100.00 balance for loss of job type thing. Now i hope they won't call back!

2007-07-27 20:13:15 UTCAnnie

ICT on behalf of HSBC

2007-07-20 19:49:06 UTCa23goodgirl

You can press 2 and enter your phone number and it will be removed from their list. Good luck, the message says that it could take up to 60 days for your number to be removed. I've called twice and they are still calling me.

2007-07-10 23:14:19 UTCBMorris82

They did not leave a message but I would assume HSBC from previous comments. I do have a relationship with them.

2007-06-07 15:51:27 UTCFaith

Asked for my husband by first name. I asked if I could take a message, they said "Actually, there is no message; I'll just try back later."

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
