As for the group on this page, it would be a good idea to let your fundraiser know we are out here and now you know that we are looking at them too. I would not let them misrepresent because the first time they do and we catch them, it's all over with but the crying.

I am only going to tell you this one time. Don't you dare come out here on to this or any other board and try to say you are trying to help fallen police officers. You are not trying to help anyone but yourselves. You think I am going to let you talk to these people who are trying to protect themselves from you in that condescending manner. Let me see if I can explain this to your two week on the job backside. Officer Down Foundation's program is to teach Crisis Chaplaincy to Chaplains, it is not to provide benefits to the families of officers killed, they only pitch that because their real program would not get them one single donation, and every time you say they are providing benefits to families of officers killed it is a lie and a misrepresentation and is potentially criminally actionable against you personally as well as your bosses David Fair, Paul Kutac, Phil Leconte and David Deriks.

I will bet you did not know that those are the same group of guys that run the Police Protective Fund and American Association of Police Officers and the Junior Police Academy. These men are so honest and hard working that even after several states sued the pants off of them they had to go out and start another identical fake charity. Remember "Operation False Charity"? Yeah, wow, they were part of it, and now look at who has come to defend them and their new carbon copy of the Multi State proven fraud the Police Protective Fund and by extension The Crisis Chaplin Project.

You, a person that I already know has maybe 2 weeks experience on the phone. I am going to offer you some sage advice from one of your elders in what is left of that industry. GET A NEW JOB! This one is about to disappear.

Now, you have called into 6 of my 50 states and misrepresented yourselves, Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee and North Carolina and that is a problem for your organization because that is where my organization is located and our mission is to protect charitable dollars specifically raised in the name of Officers Killed in the Line of Duty. Now let me tell you what my organization does. We search out and report fraudulent Police Fire Veteran's and Children's Charities and their professional fundraisers. We protect the money of the people who protect us.

If anyone reading this wants to help with a donation for us to keep going after these scams, feel free to email me and lets talk. revjames@pfcl.org And unlike David Fair attempting to claim 501 c3 status before it is granted, Churches, like the Holy Land Spiritual Church in the United States are granted automatic 501 c3 status so you know you can deduct your donation from your taxes when the law allows.

We also recruit former professional police fundraisers as volunteers to help us go after groups like yours and you would be welcome to join us as well. And we always want to hear any tips on fraudulent activity in public safety charities so we can report them too. The days of diverting money from non profits and charities that really give their money to the families of officers killed in the line of duty, are OVER!

What a coincidence that would be huh? A church and a Minster going after a Chaplain, I would say God called one of us and the other has a big problem not just on earth, but after life too.

I am not the kind of minister you are probably familiar with that gets up on Sunday morning to preach about Fire and Brimstone. I am the kind of minister that BRINGS Fire and Brimstone to your doorstep.

See the problem for your organization is that because of your fraudulent activity, you are making us expend our donor’s money to investigate you because you see, that is what OUR donors (Holy Land Spiritual Church) gave their money too and they knew full well that they were giving their money for us to go after groups like yours.

That would be the exact opposite of your group where the donor’s think they are giving to the families of officers killed in the line of duty but what you dont tell them is that the money they donate is really going to David Fair's personal mission of this "Crisis Chaplain" concept.

Well if you did not know we existed before I am not surprised, they never tell you phone jockey's anything, but you are about to know we exist now.

It is our duty and responsibility to protect our donor’s money and the only way for us to do that in the case of the Officer Down Foundation is for them to shut down voluntarily or we must sue the pants off of your group until you are ended. Oh and that is not all you have to look forward too, in North Carolina where you are calling, what you are doing is considered to be a class H felony.

this is very strange. people have called my cell phone saying "someone just called from this number 615-383-4260" but the strange thing is, THAT'S NOT MY NUMBER!!
it seems that when you try to call back the number on your cell phone, it rings mine. very strange and I'm not sure what to do about it =(

company takes in 6 million and donates less than 10% to police families, recorded only 50K on last tax filing.

found this number today on caller id. looked it up found a lot of complaints that its a scam and nashville police have no affiliation with them... i wish i was home now that i know whats up i wanna talk to em and just ruin that persons day

Someone from this number called for a donation. They asked if I wanted to give over the phone, before I gave out my cc number, I asked for their name and number to check and call back. They did not hesitate, gave me the number and hung up. I tried calling back and received a machine with the same information. Not sure if this is a fake or not, but not chancing it.

They just called me and ask for my dad. i sayed he wasnt there and "he" said ok than just hung up. i looked the # up cause we had gotten this before. wtf! im glad i looked it up.

They have phoned several times & usually hang up when I lift the receiver ! ewww! I'm not a spring chick any longer & just getting to the phone is a chore, at times. I'm going to pray for these people - I'm going to pray that lighting stikes them !!!!!!!

Received a call from this number today and could hear someone on the line but they hung up the moment I said hello.

Received a call around 6:30pm on my phone the name came up saying John Farrell no one left a message of course.

I am on the do not call list and these people keep calling. How can they be stopped.

I have also been receiving these calls ad nauseum. I reported them to the FCC as I'm on "Do Not Call" registry as well. Are you guys in TN or are they playing this game out of state, too? I guess I just a assumed this was an "in state" thing. I'm used to seeing the 615 area code pop up and know it is Nashville.

Didn't recognize the number and didn't answer. I figured they could leave a message.....however, they chose not to.

Was for a fire station fund raiser. Sent me the tickets, but I haven't sent the money. It looked legit from the envelope. Will do more research.

Do they really think we're stupid enough to GIVE them our hard earned money while they just SIT and punch phone numbers all day? I think it's interesting that the name on Caller ID shows up 'police protection' yet they're breaking the rules by calling folks who are on a "DO NOT CALL LIST."

I received a call from this individual this evening. The caller id said it was Police Protection #762-6650 and since I didnt recognize the caller I didn't answer. They did not leave a message. Also there was no area code shown on the caller id for this number. We are also on the Do not Call list.

Called this number: it rang for about 10 times, then went to an Audix voicemail system, but their mailbox is full - a convenient way to avoid getting DNC request messages.

We got our first call from this number (identified as Police Protection on our caller ID) last night and didn't answer. We suspected exactly what I've read here today. We are also on the "do not call" national registry. If you really want to do something about it, go to donotcall.gov and register a complaint. Complaints are routed to the FTC for investigation. It's the only way to end the calls and put the caller on notice.

I'm no longer a scam virgin, I just got my first call - I didnt answer it, I just hit *69 - I too am on the DNC list and have an unlisted number. - I've been online in the past couple days taking care of a few things and have had to enter my phone#, something I dont normally do - just strikes me as odd to get that call around this time - just a heads up - i'll definately file a complaint as well after what i've read here...

Called me by my wife's ex hubby's name. I told him he had the wrong number and he quickly hung up. Looked at caller ID and found it said Police Protection.

I got a call and hang up from this number. It scared me saying POLICE PROTECTION so I also tried to call back. It rang and rang. I tried again and I got a recording, plus a voice mailbox full message. I am glad this website is here. Why don't the police stop him? This site alone shows his harrassment of people.

first it was (423-293-2296) at two in the morning and then from (615-383-4260) so i guess their is two of them doeing this scam.i would like to find out how to make it stop.

just researched more on this phone number and it seems that I found an address but on google maps it looks like a residential neighborhood. sounds like scam to me.

I received a call from this number, my caller id stated police protection, I didn't answer it because i figured it was a sales person. The area code is from tennessee which is where i live and I have never heard of them.

Some guy leaving a message saying "Call me back" and then starts crying loudly.

I JUST received a call from this rude guy. Completely smells like a scam.

I told him we are on the do not call list and he claims they're exempt. Thanked me for our past support, we've never given them any.

Anyone who receives a phone call from the Police Protective Fund should alert the Division of Charitable Solicitations hotline by calling 1-800-861-7393.

This man calls my house constantly asking for a donation for families of injured or killed policemen. I continue to tell them that I do not do transactions like that over the phone and to take me off the list and to stop calling me! The jerk proceeded to argue with me claiming that this is the first time they have ever called! Yeah, right! This time I warned him that I would press harrassment charges against them if they call again. Little does this genious know is that I am smart enough to document!! I agree with the other comments...I think this is a scam which is sad because there really are victims out there that really do need assistance.........BEWARE!!!!

this caller called several months ago and when the papers came they looked very legal.stupidly i sent in 20.00.two weeks later i found out it was a scam.they just now called back and i told the man it was a scam and he acted like he didn't know what i was talking about. i called the police dept. and was told they do not do any soliciting.just thought i'd pass this along. the number is 615-383-4260 and they say it is the police protection service. don't be stupid like me and send money!!

I just got the same call, with the same police protection on the caller ID. Also did Google...this was the 1st site. I plan on calling our local police and letting them know!! Check the do not call website...they may say it's ok, since it sounds like a charity thing, which is "allowed" per the website.

had this number on my caller id today. did a search and found several complaints about this scam. notified my local police department. officer stated they will investigate and forward information to nashville metro police department. if you have been called by m. nicklaus aka 'police protection' please call the police in your area. i found complaints on the same phone number as far back as 2005. it's crazy that this guy has gotten away with this for so long.

I got the call at 1:52 P.M. on 7/20/07. Caller ID shows Police Protection. This is the first time this number has showed up on my phone.

I called back and got a recording and told it I was on Do not call list and thought the police should respect it.

Didnt get to the phone on time and they didnt leave a message. Glad I didnt as I usually donate to my local police officers. Only they will send out forms, etc when they actually do ask for a donation.

This is a scam. Do not talk to them. Report them to local police (if they will listen to you), FBI (if you can figure out how to report to them), and the FCC DO NOT CALL...But by far the best way to stop them is with a large baseball bat when you find where they are.

just received a call from this number at 6:32 a man claiming to represent this company asked if we would give a 20$ donation and asked if our address was still correct, stated that he would send "Police Stickers" to our address This Mans voice sounded to be altered as if he was using a "voice changer" of some sort after reading others comments this Police Protection appears to be a scam.

We answered a call from this number, but upon answering, we heard a click. Tried to call it, but line was busy.

I answered back in Nov. and they asked if I would send in a donation of $30 with exchange of tickets to a concert of Kenny Chesney. I accepted, got the tickets and sent the money, but never checked to whether the concert was bogus or not. Well got a call in Dec. for tickets to something else, never did send the tickets and started calling again. My husband keeps telling them I am not at home, but they still call over and over. Now that I read everyone else's comments I will take further action.
