I got a TBSBLADE call today from a local Lifetime Fitness facility we once belonged to. The number was legit, 214-383-3500. They did leave a message.
I think the TBSBLADE ID is that of either a telephone blast service, software, or hardware. Too many different variations for all of them to be connected. The callers probably have the ability to change the caller ID info but if they don't it defaults to TBSBLADE.

I received a call about an estate of a deceased family member. The area code is out of Ohio in Franklin County. It is Reynoldsburg, OH.

Claimed they were a company working for the us goverment. That they were tasked to help credit card
holders reduce their interest rates to 6%. They then ask for our card number which my wife gave.
They were able to retreive our balance and claimed for $700 dollars they would have the interest rate
lowered to 6%. She refused the offer. We then called our credit card company and cancelled the card.

Received call from this number, referenced a deceased family member and instructed me to call 800-604-5435 (there are a bunch of complaints under that number) with a reference number. I believe this is an attempt to scam people who recently lost a relative.

They call and hang up. TBS Blade makes surgical blades and stuff, and they are out of Durham, NC. But their phone number isn't what is showing up on the caller ID. And when I call back I get nothing, no noise or nothing, and then it hangs up on me.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
