2 calls showed up on cell (phone company says *I* called *THEM" and each call was 49c per minute & each call was for 1 min. I am on the do-not-call list, but I am positive I did not call these people and no one else has access to my cell phone!

They called once last week.
They called twice within 4 hours today.
I did not recognize the phone# so I did not pick up.
They left no message.
I am on the donot call list as well.

When answered the call, there is no response; wait a few minutes and then they hang up. Have had around 4 -5 calls in the past couple months.

Getting calls daily, at least 4 a day, caller ID either says "Out Of Area" or "Florida" but it's always the same number.

Never, never, never fill out an online form of any kind giving your telephone number. I did when I first got on line 10 years ago and it took forever to purge my number from the telemarketers. Last week I forget and filled out a form again and remembered why I should not submit the form. Too late, it did not matter. I never hit the submit button but the calls have started up again. Woe is me, you can be on the Natl DNC list, but that does not exclude the ones you allow by accident. Do not ever put your telephone number out there either by filling out a prize form because they sell your number even if they state on the form they do not. They are liars and you could never find it out so why not sell your telephone number for big bucks.

I refused to pick up this call and caller did not leave a message. I immediately phoned back, got through to the remove your number box and requested my number be removed. This is a MARKETING RESEARCH FIRM. I am on a no call list and they shouldn't be calling.

I got a call from this number 613-226-4730 today at 9:40am on my cell phone and yesterday twice. I try to opt-out of everything, but appearantly it doesn't work. Once you say NO they should stop calling you. Nope it just goes on and on until they get you to buy something or sign up for something that's gonna be useless to you and they take all your money. I hate to say this but telemarketers are evil!

Got call yesterday phone was off. After reading all below I wonder if answering the call is the purpose? Feels like call was made to locate my cell and or me. When my cell service is up for renewal I am opting for new number.
Tired of looking up numbers on web before I use voicemail or before I answer.
Cells need to be able to block calls and or block area codes! Never had this problem with odd cell calls until I got rid of land line. Land line was attached to an answering machine...no caller ID....was an unlisted number, but all calls went to answering machine. I had left enough dead air in the message so when the random computer calls came the computer would hang up and not leave message. Land line exchange was targeted by telemarketers....is this what is happening to us?

Has started calling every morning. I think it is related to a visit to the Publishers Clearing House website, where it drowns you in endless promotions, surveys, email spam and now phone calls. Everyone should stay the hell away from pch.com and keep your email and phone info private.

This a reportedly a home business SCAM. If you get calls from this number, you should immediately notify your telephone service provider's fraud department and if you have a State or local consumer advocate, give them the information as well. DO NOT give anyone from this number ANY personal information. These people will call you every hour and will not stop. I called my phone company and asked for a permanent "BLOCK" not alloeing calls from this number to be passed to my phone. The only way I could get the calls to stop.

I got 3 calls back to back fromths company. The womans name was Barbara Street, Asked to speak with a supervisor and said she was unavailable. They had the nerve to block the phone number at one point and callback.

Phone rang once and number came up on ID on tv screen. Entered number in google to find this page and report fraudlent call. I hope I don't get calls like the ones registered here. I am also on do not call list, but I guess that is only good for USA??

I got 2 calls from this number (613-226-4730) this morning. I was concerned as I have an unlisted number. Thankfully, I am a legal investigator @ a law firm and was able to run the number through a few of my websites. The carrier is listed as "Bell Ontario, OTTAWA-HULL, ON...and is listed to a "Home Based Business Center". I immiediately contacted them back to advise them not to contact me anymore. All you have to do is go through a series of prompts to get added to their "do not call list".

Called this number back - it is definitely for some outfit calling themselves "The Home Based Business Centre", as confirmed by Denise on 2007-03-21. Just wanted to double-check, as these types of "businesses" tend to be fly-by-night and change names often.

Funny that the automated messages tells callers that they recently signed up online, yet even a cursory Google search on the name or number yields only the same sort of reporting pages as this site, plus blog-city.com

Has called threetimems this week. Twice I answered and they hang-up immediately after I said Hello.

I looked the number up on this website and got the EXACT some stuff as everyone else. I read where it says to call the number and add yourself to the do not call list. After getting a busy signal a few times I finally got through and did what is said and added myself to their do not call list. It said I had signed up online for a home based business which I had not done so!! Have no idea how they got my number.

This is one of many numbers I have recently added to my "selective call rejection" service through my local telephone company. The "do not call" registry is pretty much useless. Please call your local telephone company and add this service to your phone bill, if they offer it, if not, suggest that they do it is well worth the extra cost. The only problem I have with it is(mine)only holds 31 numbers and with all the bogus phone calls we get it fills up fast. You need to remove numbers in order to add more. Not sure if cell phone plans offer this service, I have a "prepaid" cell phone and haven't received these annoying calls on it so far.

They are calling my cell phone 5 and 6 times a day, as Unknown and other times with the number. I voice mail clearly says I do not answer calls I do not recognize. They never leave a message but they keep calling at all hours of the day and night! I work nights and sleep days. I wish I could block them.

The first several times I called I got a busy signal as well (thats probably because they are busy calling everyone else haha). Keep calling you will eventually get through. As I write this they called me again, I didnt even bother to say hello, I just picked up and hung up. I just got on their do not call list today so hopefully this stops tomorrow..Good luck!

I use the google service at grandcentral.com. They give you a phone number which lets you manange incoming calls. I have been getting calls from (613)226-4730 to this number. Which means it came from someplace I gave the number to during making a purchase or filling out a form. Luckily, grandcentral lets you bounce these type calls directly to spam. I'll never get another call from them now. hahaha

Also - please read this article on MSNBC about a case brought by a citizen against telemarketers! You will find information on where to go (on-line) and what to file to bring a claim against telemarketer. You are entitled to $500 for every unwated call and could make some money while punishing the annoying bunch.

These people have been calling my home number 4 times a day, over the last 4 days, all between the hours of 6:15 AM and 8:27 AM CST! That clearly violates the law in regards to TM calls as they CANNOT call before 8:30 AM! I work nights, so I'm usually sleeping at this time and don't appreciate Telemarketers calling me. Plus, my number is registered with the DNC list.

But there is no more information nor anyway to talk to another person. Does anyone know who this is? Thanks

Ok, here is what you do.... I just called the number back, 613 226 4730. A recording comes on and says if you want to be added to their "do not call" list, follow instructions. All you do is enter your ph# and the #(pound) sign. The recording states your number will be removed within 24 hours.

The woman said she was doing a TV survey, asked questions about my TV watching habits. Asked if she could send me a TV show to watch (for free) on July 11. I said no. She was very insistent and annoying. I ended the call.

just called my house and asked many questions on what my occupation. asked if there was a teen in my house and i said yes, it was me, but i didnt give them my real name, thought it was kinda creepy. asked if a parent was home and i said yes but unavailable they said they would call back in a few hours, i hope they aren't as persistant as everyone is saying.

Very rude black female calls at least once a week and asks for my wife. When I ask to take a message or for the woman to identify herself or her company, she hangs up. Based on this companies large scale, repetitive and seemingly malicious harrassment practices, has anyone considered a class action law suit against them once they are identified?

That's allright they messed with the wrong person now. I own a telemarketing company with 15 phones and 10 dialers I'm having my guys dial there number every half hour every day of the week and twice on sunday's let's see how they like it!!!

keep receiving calls with no message left when call unanswered...call rings to my cell phone..when i return the call to the number it's always busy

just called me a couple minutes ago and didn't leave a message on machine. Like the rest of you I am on the state and federal DNC lists

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER MANY TIMES AND IT IS AN UNKNOWN NAME.

The woman asked for me by first name and hung up when I confirmed I was Paul. I called back the number from a different phone and got a message saying something like "If you are looking for an an exciting home business please..." at which point I hung up. Received a call on voicemail about 4 days ago from 6132264730 stating I had filled out some form on the Internet saying I was interested in starting a home business (which I did not) and that she would send me an email with info - person knew my email address, address and phone number and stated them all either in message or in the email which she did send. Assume two numbers are related since they are only one digit off.

Well, after reading alot of these comments, it seems clear that they are getting info from internet surveys. I made the mistake of following a lead for a gift certificate from outback if I "completed their survey" I quit after it started to take to long and they are still wearing me out. So obviously it is a pyramid sales scheme for starting home businesses. My question is why are they going through the hard work of internet pop-ups and getting peoples info if they are going to hang up on you or not say anything when you answer. Talking about terrible sales tactics. People are also taling about a 513 number. That is a Cincinnati, OH area code.

I recieved 4 calls already today in Cincinnati, OH. Both from the 613 number and an unknown number. When I answer, there is just static and then they hang up. It's kind of odd that all of these people are getting a call from this number but the person on the other end doesn't want to talk or promote or sell anything?!?!?!

Calls once daily, never fails. I called the number, I got a recording stating that I had registered online for our home based business information or something. It also said I could put my number on their do not call list. I did. Lets see what happens in 24 hours.

It's because you all somehow put your number in for something, either online or on the phone or in the mail or something. Just call the number back and you can be taken off their calling list.

They have called my number once a day for the past week. No message is left.

He must have like a country-wide telephone book or something. I looked up the area code and it says its from Canada.Was busy when I calledthem, probably prank calling someone else.

I live in Ottawa, so I called the number after blocking my number and it plays a message saying "Thank you for calling the Home Based business centre, you have recently subscribed online for information on starting a home based business, if you would like to be added to our do not call list please enter your number now" ect. So yeah, there ya go, don't put in your phone number for something if you don't expect to be called. lol

I am having the same problem with this number. One thing that has work for me with this number and 513-217-6631 is to file a complaint with the do not call website (donotcall.gov). It will last about a month or two without any phone calls and then they start again. Each time, I file another complaint. Atleast I get a month or two of freedom from the calls. It is worth the minute it takes to file the complaint.

Per Verizon, if you're on the do not call list, you can go to fcc.gov website and search with the word "complaint". You can fill out a form online to report these guys.

If your phone company offers a Selective Call Rejection feature, use it immediately to add the last annoying call. The phone company told me that this feature works only for in-state calls. NOT SO. It will not accept a # from out of state if you try to add it 'manually', but it will accept an out of state # if you do it as an automatic add on of the last call you received.

The SCR feature my phone company provides is activated by pressing *60.
Then following the instructions to add the last call # received.

Called several times and only get a busy signal. Don't like using my time for unknown numbers. That is why I don't have land lines.

so far 2 times today and 6 in the past few weeks.

They have called 6 times in 1 1/2 hours today alone. The caller ID box shows the name as Nepean ON. I see that number and don't even pick up anymore.

Called three times today. No one sais anything when you pick up just silence then a click and a few seconds later the sound of a disconnect.

Called and no one answered...we too are on the do not call list.

They called twice today (8/28) -- once at 9:34 and then at around 11:00 looking for my husband. I asked who was calling and they HUNG UP...ARGH!

We live in Massachusetts and I am on the do not call list!

has been calling me EVERYDAY multiple times a day (up to 6 calls!!!) for the past TWO MONTHS!! I went out of the country for 2 weeks and turned my phone off during that time...hoped the calls would stop, but they have continued even now when i've returned to the US. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS. nobody answers when i pick up the phone, they leave no messages when i ignore the call
