Received a call today (8.9.11), and they asked to speak to xxxxx xxxxxx, and I said I don't know that person. The caller said that I have him listed as the president of the company. I said, lady, I don't know who you are asking for, you called my cell phone, and there is no one here by that name. I could hear a lot of noise in background - like a call center.

Hung up and never left a message. Rather annoying!!!

They have tried calling me every day for the past five business days. When they first called many months ago, I did not pick up. But I did cros check the number on my caller ID with what I could find in the internet. Recognizing it as a telemarketer, I programmed the number on my caller ID and I never answer when that number shows.

You may have completed a survey about Garage Liability Insurance Coverage or some other survey that you agreed to be contacted about. This is the phone bank following up with further questions. They are calling you because you stated it would be ok to contact you.

If you want to block their calls, pick up an inexpensive Panasonic wireless phone. I've been using mine, a KX-TGA641, for about a year now. Works fine. Shortly after I add my block, I stop receiving attempts from the caller.
 
I suspect their systems identify the block and remove your number. Disclaimer: I have no connection whatsoever with Panasonic.

They cal me daily at work. When I answer with my normal business greeting, they hang up. You'd think they'd they'd take me off the list!

Contacted lesterinc.com corporate headquarters and was pleased with the professional way they handled things, my number will be removed by end of business today.

I learned this trick from a friend. I do not like to be impolite to anyone who calls me but I hate being interrupted at home. I ask the caller to hold on until I finish what I am in the middle of. After I get my hair dried, curled, and all my make up on. I tell them I am ready for their call if they are still ready to talk to me. It works great! And no other telemarketers can call me while the phone's off the hook.

this number calls EVERY MORNING at 6:30am. I don't pick it up but would like to stop it - obviously a telemarketer. It's been going on for over a month.

they just called my house phone. my number isn't even listed in phonebooks.. i said hello and a woman just said hello a couple times and i said can i help you and she just didn't say anything.. all i heard was breathing..

These guys are nuts. They called us repeatedly, asked to speak to one of us, would not state why they were calling, then hung up.

I did not answer three days in a row. I tried to return the call but got a busy signal.

We received call from this number at least 1 time a week. This morning, this call woke us up at 4:00AM. I answered, was too tired to remember to ask any questions, I just told them it was 4AM our time and not to call this number again, to remove us from their call list. This company's practices are awful.

I think this may be a marketing firm calling about a free magazine subscription. If you answer and ask them to stop calling... I don't think they do anything about it; as I have asked multiple times and have also been placed on a DNCL (Do Not Call List). Nothing seems to work. They must be stopped.

At first I ignored the calls since they come up as Lester Marketing, but even when I started answering to tell them to stop calling, there is never anyone there, just dead air. I did call 606-833-0102 (# found through reading this site) and the person who answered was very nice and said she will ensure I get added to the No Call List. Hopefully this will work. She was very polite and professional, not at all rude like some of the experiences some other folks mentioned in the comments in this site. Called me at the house, asked about renewing a subscription, I informed them we have no subscriptions at this address, caller was very mad when I told him that. Started yelling and i hung up phone. He called back and yelled again about me hanging up, so i hung up again and called our local police department.

I found this number in my caller ID, I called them back, the company's name is Lester Inc and the answer machine said that someone from the company is trying to contact me or if I need more information visit the web site: lesterusa.com, it have an option to do not call list but you have to leave your name and phone number.

our caller id said lester marketing. Asked for a specific person living here. They were not at home. Asked for her assistant or the human resource person. When I asked who they were they said they were calling from work force magazine. I told them there was another number to access the person at and they replied...no thank you.

They called my cell phone up here in Northern BC Canada - didn't pick up.

It appears that many posting on here both don't read other peoples posts and don't understand how telemarketing works.

The company calls people from a predetermined list using a auto-dialer and a computer script program. We usually call to renew a free magazine you are already receiving though on occasion there is a new campaign where we call a list of business's who may be interested in receiving a particular trade magazine.

I will go through a quick list of complaints and answers:

1) THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE [we are not allowed to leave messages and are supposed to hang-up on the third ring]

2) They hung-up on me [probably you answered near the end of the third ring so they hung-up to avoid the answering machine]

3) I already renewed [If you renewed by the insert in the magazine we still are required to try to obtain the info on the computer]

4) This is my private line [They may have had a outdated number, or you used your number to renew by card, or it was a typo?]

5) Information fishing [We are required to try to get replacement/referal names to send the magazine to in the event the person who
previously received it is no longer there or someone in the company who might like to continue to receive the magazine. This may seem like fishing but it is just an attempt to continue sending the free magazine to someone at that address]

6) DNC [This is very important and they would probably get angry for me revealing this but .. you must say these SPECIFIC WORDS: put me on your do not call list. The new trick they started using just before i quit though is unless you tell them "put me on lesters do not call list" they will only "pink sheet" remove you from that specific magazines campaign. If you have any other magazines that are being dialed on through them you can still be called. And keep in mind I/they were under a lot of stress on that job and sometimes if we get cussed out we just dispose the call quickly out of nerves, etc and don't put it in as a dnc.]

FINALLY: to carole whose comment was just deplorable comparing the telemarketing job to a hooker or worse. In this area there are a lot of people that don't make much money and don't have college degree's. Lester is one of the few company's in the area that provides 38 solid hours a week on a 4 days schedule with a 3 day weekend. When business is good also overtime.

Try to be less angry people. Reminds me of how rude people can be in a drive-thru. Perhaps if you ever worked at a drive-thru you wouldn't be so quick to get upset.

If you have a subscription to a free industry magazine...like the one I have - Information Security Magazine (or one of the many many others they manage) they have your number on file for that and call to renew the subscription.

If you call their main number in KY, they will remove your number from their roster right then. In fact, they offered that before I was able to ask. Hope this helps!

I received a call from someone at this number 606-833-0105. The only message that was left is a women who sang the following 5-words "Stepping out with my baby" then just hung up. I received this exact call about 5-months ago left on my vmail.

Get several calls weekly from these knuckleheads, who give me just a noisy background or no sound at all when I answer. Just got another call from them, but with a live person who was surprised that I am online right now complaining about them. She asked if I get calls from them (no duh) and said goodbye. We'll see.

I used thier contact form..on lesterinc.com and I filled in the required information with nonsense like eat me ...downthere...your momma...and for the email i left asspirate@hotmail.com which was a email addy that one of my friends set up to harras on of the memebers in the band with love letters and such... in the comment area I left a long note about not wanting their companies business because they suck at what they do. lets flood thier contact department with crap the way they do us..

I don't answer it because it costs me 1/2 unit or half a minute to answer then no one is on the other end. Frickin idiots! FCC should busty them!

Have received several calls from this number [606-833-0105] on my cell phone. Answered last one & got two beeps - then it hung up on me. I called them back. Got recorded message saying it was Lester, Inc. When I get calls like this, I save the number and assign it a name. This one has become A**hole #16 in my directory. In the future when I get a call from this number, a quick look tells me not to bother answering it.

This company is called Lester, Inc., based out of Branford, CT. They are calling on behalf of companies who provided you with free magazine subscriptions. I called the number provided, 606-833-0102, extension 7017, and spoke to the replacement for 'Melissa Pierson'. I asked the replacement to take my number off their lists since I do not have a free subscription to any magazines. She said it takes 24-48 hours. I will wait for 72 hours, and I get additional calls, they will be sued, and I will provide the recording of our conversation to the local police and federal authorities.

I have left a message on their customer service number and still had two more calls at my job that same day. These people are rude, arrogant, and just plain old bad business people... Can't we do something more? Maybe call the authorities where they are located and let them know that these people are using their business as a form of harassment.

I've received a call from this number on my cell phone every day for the past 6 days, always between 8:30 and 8:45 AM. They leave no voice mail. I have not answered a call yet as I am working and only answer calls from numbers I know when with a client.

Yeah, same things as reported here. I feel that we all need to contact DNC registry, and file a complaint. One person saying something won't do squat, but a bunch of us complaining will get them fined. If people are able to start finding loopholes or cracks in DNC it will only be time before we all get 10 calls during dinner again from horrible agencies.

I missed this call - and I won't call back

Called on March 14, 2008 about 3:30 PM Pacific.

These calls come from a subscription verification service for trade magazines (like eWeek). They are hired to call and verify that you qualify for the free subscription you are getting or want to get. They have a legitimate business relationship with you (through the trade magazine), so Do Not Call list does not apply. Takes less than 10 seconds to tell them "not interested" if you don't want the magazine. They are not in the business of trying to "sell" the mags.

This woman didn't know she was being recorded by my voicemail (new telemarketer) so she goes on and on about how she doesn't know how to use the computer. Priceless.

I, as well, have asked these jerks in the past not to call again. I am on the "do not call" registry. I get design magazines and my husband gets eWeek, which may explain why we are getting calls again - they are not cross-referencing their call lists. They may try to get away with some of it because we get the mags - therefore they may try to claim we have done business w/ them. We haven't - we do business with the magazines (or my husband's company did). I didn't know eWeek was free, so my guess is Jester FartyKing, Inc. is working on customer lists to sell to other telemarketers who are as unscrupulous as ever. They all say they are just trying to make a living. So are prostitutes (who are at least not actively annoying people), hit-men, and drug-dealers. I detest the scum. Get a real job.

Yes they are selling something. Your name, phone # and whatever info they can convince you to divulge. Even by calling and hanging up or calling and not leaving a voicemail message they are determining that your phone # is a working telephone # (they'll add wahtever details are necessary to their records to make it look like they spoke to someone. Thereby BS-ing their bosses and their customers).

To those of you who think the do not call list is going to dissuade these firms from calling you, get real. No, I mean really. When is the last time you heard about a telemarketing firm actually paying a fine or even had actions brought against it? The do not call list is another goverment sham and pork barrel deal. A good spot to park those who will vote as told...............

I found this number on my caller ID and called to ask why they called at this early hour and failed to leave a message. I recognized the recorded message and the name of the contact, Melissa Pearson (606-877-0102 ext. 7017), as someone I have talked to before and told her never to call me again. But here, a few months later, she has called me again and again failed to leave a message. The company is located in Branford Connecticut. They claim not to be a telemarketing firm and that they follow all state and federal laws. Yet they repeatedly call people on the national no call list, even after saying they would stop doing so. As best as I can make it out from their recorded message, the company name is Wester, Inc.

I know someone who works with this company. Its in Greenup County Kentucky and it is actually called Lesters Telemarketing. I really dont know much about the company but they do telemarketing for magazines and other things along those lines. The best thing in my opinion is for you to call the 606-833-0102 and speak with a superviser there and tell them to take you off of there list of people to call. That way it will be done and you wont have to worry about people calling you again. I just wated to let you all know that.

Called to offer eWeek free subs. This e-Pended call came off some inaccurate list, probably bought from some other industry rag. 3rd call this week about eWeek, and I'd already accepted the print-rag to be sent. Call it /too active/ pursuing places to send free pubs, and using very dirty lists.

Call came at 8:26 p.m. I saw Caller ID and did not answer because name and number were not familar. Call came again at 8:28 p.m. Same as above.

No message...just blank.

Don't know these bozo's

I'm on the Do Not Call list; they called me this morning, but didn't leave a message. Have no idea who it is. (Don't have subscription to an interior design magazines or anything like that, as suggested by previous post.)

i got this call and the person said he was from interior design magazine....do you guys have subscribtion to this magazine?

They have called several times and never leave a message. If its important, they will leave a message.

they call here all the time too..... and its been going on for at least a month.. and I too am on the do not call registry

They called my cell phone this morning. I did not answer and they did not leave a message

got first call today at work - didn't answer. There was a message on my voicemail of typing and talking noise in the background but no real message.

Called 10:03 am 11/7/2006.
And its not the first time.

They called today at 3:55 PM EST

Caller ID just had the number:606-833-0105

They called me this morning. As it says Name Unavailable I did not answer. I have also listed this number with the National Do Not Call List. Not sure how they even got this number.

I received repeated calls from this number, but I didn't answer my cell. I don't know who they are or why they are calling me, or have they have my number.

??? I don't know why they are calling me.
