"There is currently no problems with your account"....

What account? I don't have an account with whoever is calling...

They can't know anything about "my account" at a different company that is not them....

These guys are a bunch of complete and utter crooks. And they're calling from the USA, to Canada where I am. Canada's do not call list prohibits these scamsters from making unsolicited calls like this, so they're calling from outside the country, where that scum can't be controlled. Probably same deal the other way around. Canadian companies scamming across the border to the USA.

And if they ever fix that, we'll get scamsters from India, good grief.

So I see they started using this phone number on June 29, or at least the first post here was put. I literally have gotten hundreds of calls from this: Rachel at Card Holder Services. Always changing phone numbers. I am on Canada's National Do Not Call List. And yet..... still doing it. Who knows how many phone numbers they had, from real looking to obviously fake. Somebody has got to shut these guys down.

Credit card scammers
They also use the following phone numbers:

978–570-2268
978-570-2339
978-570-2340

If you are on the national do not call list in the US, can one of you please file a complaint about these jokers? We can't from Canada as your call list won't take our phone numbers for registration, and Canada won't touch them because they are outside of the country.

Got another call from these cretins as I was sitting down to dinner. Same tired spiel as before about reducing interest rates and eliminating debt. Talking to an agent solves nothing. All you can do is block this number, if you have that option.

As for being on the Do Not Call registry... Unfortunately for Canadian residents, these U.S.-based scammers can call with impunity because our Canadian DNC registry can't touch them. The only thing that will stop them is if Canada and the U.S. get together to create a North American DNC registry. I'm not holding my breath.

They have repeatedly been calling me but usually I'm not home so just get the annoying message. However, today, I picked up and pressed 9 to speak to a representative to politely ask to be removed from the list. The lady said in a derogatory tone, "Not gonna happen!" Ok, now I'm mad!

We've had calls from this number at 5 a.m. - there's a jolt you don't need when the phone rings and drags you out of a sound sleep to hear rachel talking about lowering your interest rate. We're on the National Do Not Call List in Canada - unfortunately the way the bozos set up the list they let the scammers buy copies of it. (The copies were meant for legit companies so they would know who to remove from the list - the scammers who bought copies received 1000's & 1000's of valid legit #'s to annoy, bother and pursue).

I found a perfect solution. ( we blitz their local phone number ) A couple of employees who were calling have now quit. They said that the Rachel phone call is a SCAM. Your name will never be removed from their "do not call list " this was also confirmed by their Manager MR REED or REID in Melbourne Florida. His Direct Phone Number is
(321)256-4025. He will admit it's a Scam Too... " so sue me " is the cavalier attitude.

I too am on the national do not call registry. The recorded message only gives a single option "press 9"... the agent answered, and when I asked to be put on their do not call list, he just hung up on me. They illegally called me despite me being on the registry, called early on a Saturday waking me up, and then to add insult to injury hung up on me when I was actually pleasant to them! Truly the lowest scum, and unbelievable that they can do this to untold thousands of people with no fear of retribution.

Putting a call trace will not help, because even though this is seems a form of harrassment, it is not legally recognized as harrassment and thus the police will not get involved (which is the only way to make use of a call trace request).

What is the solution to all this? I don't know. Until the phone companies actively participate in the process, there will be no good solution... and they actually have no incentive to do anything, since they make money off these calls... so it looks like we'll just be hanging up now and in the future.

I have received several dozen calls from these people. My phone number is on the National Do Not Call List, I have pressed #3 as they say to do if you don't wish to be contacted again and I have spoken to someone and told them to GET ME OFF THIS DAMN LIST OR I'LL CALL THE POLICE, and they still call. This is unacceptable, please do something to stop these people !!!!!!

2009-07-06 13:33:39 UTCsammy

a pause after i answered. then a recorded voice comes on saying that this is a message from card holder services, you have only so much time to benefit from reduced rates on your credit card.............and so on. an obvious scam

"There are no current problems with your account..." bla bla bla
I have no account with these lying crooks.
They *ARE* the scum of the earth.

2009-07-02 13:56:05 UTCfrustrated

I no longer answer the phone unless there is a name attached to it! Sad that I have to invest in Caller ID to avoid the "Scum of the Earth"! However, I got so frustrated yesterday (Canada Day equal to 04 of July!) that I used the computer to solve the mystery behind the number. Thank you for providing the info I needed!

2009-07-01 21:22:09 UTCPissed.

These pricks of scammers have the unmitigated nerve to call on Canada Day -- a national holiday. That said, they should not call at all -- ever. Display was: "Unknown name". There should be a special place reserved in hell for these people. The same goes for those evil infants who write and propogate computer viruses...although they should have all their fingers broken first.

Another credit card scammer with the same old schtick about eliminating your debt. Anybody who falls for that line of BS deserves to be scammed.

Anyway, they claim that pressing "1" will remove your number from their database. I doubt very much that they will honour it.

2009-06-29 18:17:45 UTCJoe

Some people are getting success taking these telemarketer bozos to court. About $500 per call. Keep records. You can even register for small claims court on-line. :-)

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
