Who Called Us

This number calls all the time and never leaves messages. I called it back to try to be put on their do not call list, and it just rings and rings for two minutes. Sounds really legit, doesn't it? We're on the national do not call list too.

Have gotten called from these people numerous times. Never leave a message. Answered earlier and said I get the person they asked for, muted the phone and set it down until they hung up...took over a minute. So, when they called me at 20 til 10 tonight, I answered again. Could tell he was trying to figure out who he had called. I asked if he realized it was nearly 10 pm, he said no, which I find funny since VA is the same time zone as KY! I told him to remove me from their list and hung up. We're on the no-call list too. Apparently it's not working!

It's a survey call, this company uses a computer to make the calls, they can't hang up without getting a manager to disconnect, usually takes about five minutes for them to do it, they get paid per call keep asking them questions until they are able to disconnect, no need to be politically correct or watch your language, they called you! They get paid by the call, not by the hour. It can be lots of fun and a nice way to get even.

Got a call from them, Foreign accent and asked for me. I asked who was calling, he gave me his name, I asked again who/where he was calling from--meaning I wanted the business name--he said Virginia. I asked again what company, who was he representing, he gave me a description of the service, I asked again and he told me he had explained, I cut him off and asked again what the name of the business entity was, who was he representing, and he said something about Voter attitudes. I told him I had never heard of them, and since I had to ask so many times to get an answer I wasn't interested.I would think if they were on the up & up they would have identified themselves clearly right off the bat.

Have received 6 call from this number since 3/31/10. Two of them were today. No message left when answering machine picks up. Getting tired of whoever it is calling. We are on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

A Telemarketing firm calling for the "Institute for Voter Attitudes"

I have no idea who this number belongs too but I am really tired of the flippin calls.
Maybe we need to find a way to stop these kind of calls while they are still ringing our phones.
Would be nice to be able to block them 'on demand' instead of some stupid do not call list.

Call hang up about 1255 pm when voice mail was to go on.

I didn't answer the phone, it showed up on my caller ID. Figured it was a telemarketer. They left no message

Wanted to speak with me I told them they had the wrong # and they said OK and hung up.

these calls come in three or four times a week, never a message. I am listed on the do not call list, one would think they would check these people out.

I got tired of the relentless calling and answered the phone last week. They were looking for someone else. Some kind of poll. She politly said "sorry for the call". Now here they are again tonight, starting the same ol' CRAP!

Get a call from this number at least once a week, they never leave a message. Sick and tired of them calling, most of the time when we are having dinner. Today they called during lunch.

Caller called me on my private cell phone number at 7:30 at night, and asked for (by name) a political candidate I recently did some volunteer work for. I have absolutely no idea how this outfit connected my private cell phone number with the candidate I volunteered for, or why they confused him with me. How can they get this information? How can they do something like this without violating federal and state law? Is there no privacy left?

From another site that reports on this annoying number: "I placed a complaint with KY Atty General and just got a response. They did an investiation on this number and stated that it is "Free Enterprise Institute, Inc." and they are exempt from the do not call list because "Monetary donations on behalf of charitable or non-profit organizations are exempte from state and federal do not call laws." Kinda funny that the person I spoke with identified themelves as "Institute of Voter Attitudes for the State of Kentucky". And they did not state they were seeking donations for charitable and non-profit. I wonder how much money "Free Enterprise Institute, Inc." gets in commission of monetary donations for charitable/non-profit organizations get to call on their behalf?"

Caller stated, "This is a nationwide opinion poll, and I was wondering if I could have 3 to 4 minutes of your time." I told the caller I wasn't interested, and they politely told me to have a good night and hung up. I'm on the National Do Not Call List, so I don't know how they got the number.

Caller ID gives the phone number and "Virgina". Has called numerous times - doesn't leave a message. I finally answered, thinking it might be someone I know who lives in VA - there was no one on the other end when I first answered ... I don't wait around for someone to come on the other end so after saying "hello" twice I hung up.

Got the same ID Jona said...vienna along with the number. Asked for my husband, told her he wasn't here.

in Louisville, called again. hangs up. very irritating. Calls at 9:00pm.

I finally got fed up enough to answer this. They were from the "Institute on Voter Attitudes" or something like that. Wanting me to take a brief 3-4 minute (I've heard that one before!) survey. I declined and also asked to be put on their Do Not Call list. She was very polite and said that would be no problem. I hope that is the case.

Company has called three times in a row. All three times I told them this is a business line and to stop calling. On 9/13, the woman asked who I was - because they were asking for my husband. I state my name, the company I worked for and I was instructing them to stop calling. At 8:13 PM the third call came in. I told them I was recording the call and I requested the company name, address, phone number. The woman gave me to her supervisor. He said he could not give the company name but they were a "teleservice" for a company that works for the "Institute of Voter Attitudes for the State of Kentucky". I asked for his address and phone because the Attorney General requires this informationand he told me he could not disclose that, so I handed him over to my husband, whom proceeded to disclose his occupation and if he chose to take it further, he would.

in Louisville, called me @ 8:48pm on 9/11. Do not know number, ID is VA suburb of D.C.

get several calls a week from this number. Says Vienna, VA. Not sure who it is calling as I don't answer unfamiliar numbers. Has to be a telemarketer of some kind.
