last call few min ago -didn't know # so answr machine picked it up...left msg asking "Do you own a small dog?"
they've called several times over 2 wk period -refuse to answer it!

They have a new number they are spoofing now ... here is the thread ...

It probably is the CCadvertizing as posted below. But I am more than a little reluctant to give my info to a email address at ccAdvertising.com. Best thing is still to not respond at all. It probably will stop (finally!!) after the election season is over.

To Being Spoofed: same thing happened to me, I was getting all kinds of calls from people accusing me of calling them, what they don't understand is who ever this is is spoofing numbers and making is look like it us doing it. I almost changed my phone number but the calls have stopped (there was someone before me that was also getting harassed) Make sure you report it to your local PD, if someone tries to get you in trouble for it, the police say they can find a way to prove it is not you, but only if charges are brought against you, but have what has happened on file. I hope the calls stop soon.

Received recorded calls several times various times of the day saying this is survey 2010 do you own a small dog. Finally said yes just to get the survey over with but the recorded call just said thank you paid for by survey 2010 and then hung up. I realized that I was scammed. The calling number was 571 214 5430 Called my phone company reported the incident and had that number blocked.

Seems like it's some Tea Party terrorists. The questions were all slanted as anti-Dem and anti NYC community center / mosque. The slant of the questions makes me think it was just advertising for the Tea Party whack-jos. You know there a mosque in the Trade Center towers when they were destroyed by terrorists.

After reading lots of these enteries I decided to add it to the blocked numbers with my phone service.....Hope it works.

Calling 3 times a week, I dont answer it but they leave the message "Do you own a small dog". I'm on the do not call registry, but that dosnt seem to matter to the cell phone caller from Virginia.

I got a call from 571-214-5430, they said it was a survey and they asked me if I'm a registered voter, I said No and don't plan on it and I hung up. It is odd they did not ask me about a small dog.

Called asking if I was a registered voter, I just layed the phone down.

We keep getting calls from this number, which turns out to be a recording. The male voice on the recording says, "This is survey 2010. Do you own a small dog?", there is a long pause and then they hang up. Most recent call from this number was on Sunday 9/12 at 2:18 pm. Have called us at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Very annoying!!

keep calling and hanging up on answering machine...glad I checked here...thought it odd that a cell phone would keep calling and hanging up, usually you know cell phone callers or it is a wrong #. but they call every day around the same time. very annoying

Joe, I'm guessing that the guy from Idaho who was pegged as being responsible for these calls when they were originating from 208-758-0218 (check out that board) and who denied it vehemently, actually was responsible but didn't like being pegged for it, and spoofed it to a new number to try to distance himself from it. We still don't know the point of all these lame calls though. And just for the record, I got one from the 208 number, thought the small dog question seemed kind of random, so I just hung up without answering and haven't gotten another one of them. I'm still curious what it was all about though.

Did they just move from Idaho to Virginia? No, undoubtedly forging the caller ID. For this reason trying to call them back or reporting them to Do Not Call Enforcement is not productive. Plus, it is not unlawful to take a survey, even a fake one, so National Do Not Call really doesn't apply. They probably want to get a list of who does and does not answer the phone. When they call you back with their real agenda you won't even know its them, they will be forging yet another caller ID. Could be an early way to find out who answers the phone and when for some election year push.

called @ 7:14 Sept. 8th. Initial recorded announcement was "calling with a brief election survey" = HUNG UP IMMEDIATELY !!

It is an AT&T "Go Phone". Do not answer if you see the number on your caller ID - or if you do answer just yell something profane like me! You can call AT&T and complain - as I did, and maybe they will listen if enough people call. Filing a complaint on the Do Not Call Registry seems to have little effect. Even if the number gets canceled, they will just get another Go Phone though...

Male voice - left a recorded message - 5:48 p.m. on a Tuesday - saying this is a "public survey" and he may call back.

Much the same as others. Recording of a male mentioning that the call was paid for by "Survey 2010," making one think immediately that it's a political survey. Then it asks, "Do you own a small dog?" followed by silence. I answered, "yes." Got a "thank you, this call was paid for by Survey 2010" and a hang-up.

Same exact message "This is survey 2010-Do you own a small dog?" The caller ID says Virginia call, and the # is 571-214-5430. I did a reverse lookup and it says it is a cell phone in Arlington Va. It even gave me the longitude and latitude. Maybe we should have uncle louie and cousin sammie go over there and beat the sh** out of this person and he'll stop with the nuisance phone calls. I too am on the do not call registry. Tomorrow I'll give the state attorney's office a call. If this involves interstate fraud they need to be nailed to the wall.

I got the call from 571-214-5430 on 05-SEP-2010. I answered because it showed up on caller ID as a wireless caller, and I thought it might be someone in need of help. The recording said, "This is a survey. Do you own a small dog?" I Replied, "Yes." The caller said something that was incoherent. The caller then simply hung up the phone. What it this all about?

Getting the phone calls with no message but from this number. Just researching to see what the deal is. Two calls.

Got this phone call 571-214-5430. Caller ID reported WIRELSS CALL / A recording asked if we had a dog. Hung up immediately.

Caller phoned us and asked: "Do you own a small dog?" then hung up! What the heck?

This call comes in once a week from this number.

Recording on ans machine said "Do you own a small dog?" then hung up.

My caller ID said "WIRELESS CALLER". Reverse phone directory search turned up a cell phone number in Arlington, Virginia. Call came to my home phone on Saturday, 09/04/2010, at 17:33 CDT. I always refuse to answer any call from any blocked or otherwise cryptically identified phone number/caller. Thank God and AT&T for Caller ID! Our home phone is listed on the national and on our state's DO NOT CALL registries.

My caller ID said "VA Cell" -- has called repeatedly.

2 times this week, got a call from this number, it went to the recording long enough to record the phone audibly being slammed down and disconnected. This is additional FYI for those that receive calls from this number. From what I have read so far, don't answer this call.

Sometimes when they call me the Caller ID says "Wireless Caller" or something like that. Maybe it is, maybe it's not a wireless phone; I know it is very possible to "spoof" people and cause a false phone number and false Caller ID data to show up on our Caller ID's. So DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM THESE PEOPLE or from ANYONE that you do not know FOR SURE who it is. If you do, when they ask you ANY question to which you might conceivably answer, "yes," DON'T! You may discover, (or maybe you'll NEVER find out), that they have done something such as maybe add a charge to your phone bill...maybe 50 cents, maybe a dollar, maybe 5 dollars....and do it month after month after month after month for years and years.....maybe you will never "snap" and realize that this charge has been added to your phone bill, because if you do see it show up, it might say something like: "911 emergency services access" charge, or something like that; something that if you see it, you might think it is a legitimate charge. Meanwhile they are collecting that 50 cents or that one dollar or that five dollars every month from thousands and hundreds of thousands of people....maybe MILLIONS of them...in MANY countries! Can you imagine how rich and how fast they are getting rich off of scamming people??? I think we need to HOLD OUR PHONE COMPANIES RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS because they KNOW this is happening yet they allow it to continue. Could it be that THEY are getting some profit off of this themselves??? I say we each and every one send an email or paper letter to BOTH the Public Utilities Commission and also to the Attorney General's office in your state DEMANDING that they do something about this! receiving calls from both P30PLE RSPNZ and 571-214-5430. Do not answer if this call comes up and if you do answer NEVER SAY YES to any question asked...it is a scam and they will bill you for services you did not order and then they say they have you agreeing (yes) to them.

Today was the first time this number called my house. The caller ID said Wireless Caller. I did not answer as I didn't recognize the number or the area code for that matter.

If you do answer just say I have SMALL DOG. Or say I will be recording this for trainig or quality purposes and see what happens.

Like others, I also received a call from (208) 758-0218 about 10 days ago. Gather it's the same scammers. I don't pick up, and the caller hangs up when Human doesn't answer. I did report this one because the volume of calls on (208) 758-0218 is 236 tonight (on this site alone!) and now about 40 from this wireless caller in 2 days. I have reported this one to complaints.donotcall.gov given the potential fraud involved. Creepy.

They've called us before from a different number. The machine picked up and there was a male's recorded voice that said something about "Survey Twenty-Ten" and then asked if I owned a small dog.

571/214-5430 is a cell phone number and when I picked it up, they just said "do you own a small dog". I hung up the phone immediately. They have called several times before. We are on the no call list but doesn't seem to stop them.

Phone Number Report: Another post says the person calling wants you to say "YES" so they can record your voice and start charging items to you. When you complain that you never ordered these things,they play the recording of your voice saying "YES". It will be difficult to get these charges voided.

This morning at 9:59 a.m.,I received a call from this number. Caller ID showed "Wireless Caller". I picked up the receiver but didn't say anything. It was a recording that started with "this is survey 2010". Do you own a small dog? I didn't say a word, I just hung up. I received the same call last week from P3ople Respnz. I did not answer the phone. Then I read the complaints, that is how I know the "Wireless Caller" is the same SCUMBAGS. Now they will probably use another tatic, so beware.

It's a scam. DO NOT SAY "YES" to them! They record you saying "yes" and will use it against you later after they start charging you for some ridiculous "service" that you never see. When you call them to dispute the charge, they'll play a recording of them explaining the charges and terms with you saying "yes" at the end, like you agreed.

This happened to my mom at her job. Some company called, claiming to be a free business listing and wanted to confirm the address and phone number of the school she works at. When asked if correct, she said "yes" and they were later charged $1000 for a "special business listing with advertising" and when the people above my mom were trying to dispute it, they played back the message with her saying "yes" at the end. They had thought my mom authorized this advertising (public schools don't pay for advertising) and wanted to have her investigated, but when another person heard the "recording" she could tell it was fake and got them to back off and got my mom cleared, but since then, she won't say "yes" on a phone unless she knows who she's talking to. I do the same at home.

Also got a call Aug, 30 9:13 PM. Did not answer. I am on do not call list also. Seems to not be working. Lots of prank callers lately.

Caller ID said "Wireless Caller" so I answered ... after all, who would be running opinion polls, telemarketing or automated message from a wireless phone? Well, my guess is that the source ID is spoofed. Isn't that illegal? Anyway, I answered and the pre-recorded voice asks: "Are you the owner of a small dog?" "Please answer 'yes' or 'no'..." So responded: "Yes or no". The recording then identified the survey company and hung up. I guess it didn't like my answer.

(571) 214-5430. Calls at odd hours. Recording asking if I approve of Barack Obama's policies. Filed a complaint with the FTC.

I received what appeared to be an opinion poll, but only if you agreed with the caller, i.e., Ronald Reagan's son.

This number called today and only left a static message. Appears that P3ople respnz has changed to a new number

These people have moved from the number 208-758-0218 to this number. They ask "Do you own a small dog". May not seem bad, but many suspect that they will use it if you answer "yes" to subscribe to services and charge you for them. Refuse to pay and well they take you to court, play the part where you say "yes" and boom you have to pay.

Either that or they are using the "yes" to give you to other telemarketers and such.

I got a call from 571-214-5430 on Aug. 30, 2010, at 1:25 p.m., with Caller ID identifying it as "WIRELESS CALLER." When I picked up the phone, a recorded voice that did not identify itself nor what company it was calling from said, "This is survey 2010. Do you own a small dog?" I simply hung up on the number because I will not participate in a survey from a company or organization that won't even identify itself upfront. When I tried to call back, I received a recorded message stating something like, "The mailbox belonging to [static] cannot be accessed at this time," etc. Reverse phone lookups on various websites indicated that the number is located in Arlington VA or Washington VA Zone 8/BELTSVILLE (22201), Carrier: NEW CINGULAR WIRELESS, PCS, LLC - DC / AT&T MOBILITY, CLLI: BTVLMD18GT0. If you also received a call from this number, and if your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry, I would suggest filing a complaint at complaints.donotcall.gov.
