I got a 529 call as well. It was my mother calling from Mexico (she's on vacation)! Hopefully this helps some of you!

This call is from Mexico. The land line phone showed 529-848-xxxx. This call was from a friend on vacation who then called the cell phone. The calls you're receiving are originating in Mexico and land line caller ID may not recognize the format. The 52 is the country code and the 948 is the Mexican area code.
i get calls from this number several times a day 30-40 to be exact. according to a websight that provides country codes it belongs to that of central africia
Calls are not coming from Area Code 529. They are coming from Country Code 52. Mexico. The three digits following this are the Mexican Area Code. 998 is Cancun.

Called about reducing my credit cards rates
This number called my home and said it was urgently that they call this phone number back, at the request of a family member. I called my family member before calling this number, when I called my family member they said they knew nothing about this. This phone number is traced back to Jalisco Mexico. They will tell you a story in which a family member is in trouble, and will ask you to wire money to a bank. I called the police, they said that if you do wire any money, you will never see it back, they can be anywhere in the world and transfer the money from Mexico to another bank account in another country. Beware - do not give personal information or wire any money. Call the police or the FBI.
Some lame message saying, "Don't worry, there is not problem with your account, yet. However you're eligiblity to lower your interest rates will expire soon. It is URGENT that you speak to us before your eligibility expires!...

Vonage caller ID showed '011529982873537'. Notice this has the 529-982-8735 within. We hit the '1' option to find out the company info (we are on the No Call List). Guy claimed 'Card Holder Services' based in Florida. Would not reveal company phone number each time I asked, but kept repeating the question 'Do I have high interest rate credit cards'. We exchanged questions for a good 5 minutes, no answers given either way. Very annoying!
Has called us a couple times now. Both times they did not leave a message. Tried to file complaint like someone above suggested at the do not call site but it will not accept the phone number. Will be blocking this one!

"Consumer Services" asked for ACTUAL credit card #, the 888 number from the back of the card, the last 4 digits of my Social Security #, my zip code. They were going to verify my balance with a 3-way call. I faked it all, was told to wait, and then they hung up.
These guys are thieves and I will catch them.
This call showed up on my home caller ID. No message. When I realized it came from Mexico I suspected a scam. I shall block the number and I suggest you all do the same.

I keep getting messages left on my home answering machine tell me it's about my "current credit card account" and how I can lower my interest rate. Amazingly, I don't even have a credit card. Is there no way to stop these annoying calls?

Called, got a recording that there was a problem with my credit card(I do not have a credit card)wanted me to press numbers(I did not)hung up before message finished.
Offered a cheap trip to cancun, confirmation number 965. As soon as I tried to clarify the companies name, he assured me that I would be taken off their call list, and promptly hung up. If anyone has any info on who is generating these calls, please email me at cactusbread(at)hotmail.com. Thanks.

Got a call from this number this morning. When I said I was on the DNC list, the caller hung up.
The 07 is after you select to hear the offer! It is a time share company. The vacation packages do not include airfare and are designed for you to check out their resort hotels, sit through a 90 minute lunch or breakfast (your choice) seminar. They advise you do this asap, on account of discounts they give you at the seminar to local sights. We just confirmed the cust. service phone #, it's legit. They offer just about any state and a few overseas packages, as well as cruises for $99.99 for first two people then the other two are free. But there is a $97.00 admin. fee added. Then they offer additional packages at way discounted fees of $39.00/for 3, $78 for 5. You can mix and match, give away or sell. But they must also sit through seminar. I've heard of others doing this, just became gulible myself. We'll see if it's any good!! Good Luck to you all.
Called claiming to be "Cancun Travel Unlimited" Said their number was in Mexico: 001 298 64 88. Caller ID said (529) 982 8735 which is not a valid number. I am on the Do Not Call list, and they claim that they get these numbers from leads, haha.
