How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I recieved this call on 3/04/2013 they were very strange
I live in Northern Ca(lifornia).
Recently, I called my Gramma and Aunt in Ontario.
There is no extra charges with my AT&T iPhone plan with calls to Canada.
I believe this a SCAM operation- not necessarily within the AT&T company, but working within their USA-Canada network- like a calling "cookie" that the scammer picks up.
This is my theory.
I BELIEVE YOU SHOULD NEVER ANSWER THIS- a caller-bot will recognize/register you as a potential "ear marker"- and potentially put you on other scammer bot lists.
IF PEOPLE, OR COMPANIES ARE LEGITIMATE AND WANT TO CONTACT YOU, THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE.
Copy and google the number that tried to contact you- chances are... they are a scammer bot.
-Carry on.

Repeated calls did not recognize the number so let answering machine get it and they always hang up.
Market Research firm.. My number is unlisted and anonymous.. not sure how they got it.. but I missed it and their machine says they dont leave messages..
i just got a call from this number, the woman asked to speak to the person who makes the health care decision and has access a computer and has valid e-mail address. i told her there was no one here with that. she said thank you then she hung up.
m
They have been calling me every hour for the past two days and have twice hung up without saying anything. I asked to be put on the do not call list and I continue to get calls EVERY SINGLE HOUR. I give up!!!!!
porn star union begging me to cum back to work

I received a few calls from this number and had never answered until today. As it turns out it was a survey taker to see how my recent inquiry to customer service at GM had gone and if I was happy with the treatment I received. Now if they had left a message the first time, then I would have picked up when they called and I heard the message being left on my machine. We have been getting so many of these "Credit Card Services" calls, that have nothing to do with our credit accounts, that we have stopped answering calls from unknown numbers.
Please tell me how to report &end this harassment. Thx
Ipsos-Reid with a Survey on Behalf of Change Canada, doing a survey on Extended Healthcare facilities. Caller ID says "Unknown Name". Asked for Callback from Supervisor re call Process. Confirmed Company, and location. Location is 185 Carleton Street in Winnipeg MB, but they use the 514 number (or they claim) so that returned calls get either a live operator or a Recording saying who they are. Still a bad practice, not to have the name IPSOS-REID on the CALLER-NAME, Supervisor claimed that due to changing clients was difficult to change the name, again a BAD Practice, as the Nmae of the Survey co will not change too often. Preamble of agent was to long , asked to shorten.
I do not do surveys and will not talk to these people. Oddly enough when i say no not interested, they are still talking when i am hanging up the phone. Called on 10/11/12 at 5:31 pm.
Quebec ... didn't answer, and by the looks of it, I'm glad!
Female stated she calling on behalf of MEDICARE do to a survey regarding benefits. Asked wayyyyy too many personal questions. WHY WOULD MEDICARE BE CALLING FROM CANADA?????? I called MEDICARE as soon as I got off the phone with the young lady AND, they stated that this survey was NOT approved by Medicare ********SCAM!!!!
No MSG left, make it go away
This person did not leave a message. Keep a video camera by your phone. Record everything useing a speakerphone on your phone. Let them do the talking. They have to identiy themselves and the company they represent. Now you can tell them to place you on a DNC and if they call again you have proof to take them to court. Send this video to the Atterney General office for your state. If enough people complain action will be taken, but you need to provide proof. If you contact the police department they will charge you 10.00 a phone call to be traced.
Call from IPSO (it sounded like) doing a consumer survey. I agreed to answer the questions. The woman on the other end had a distinct Southern USA accent, nothing like anyone I know of from Quebec province. Odd.
Go away is all I have to say.
This is the second day that this number has called. Once at 5:25 and about 5 minutes ago.
This number calls me three or four times a day and I never pick it up. I just called them back and a message comes on saying they are ipsos from Quebec and they conduct public opinion poles. I will answer next time and tell them to take me off their list.
Calls and leaves no messages
This number called me. I answered. A Woman told me she was with sirius XM and wanted me to do a survey that would take 25 minutes. I said ok. She asked me my age. I answered, then she said "Have a good evening" and hung up...
As mentioned in my previous comments from October 2009 and January 2010, this was Ipsos Reid's Loyalty Research division calling with a survey (this time about grocery buying habits). See for more info: ipsos.ca
I cut the agent off and asked to be removed from their calling database. She thanked me for my time, then ended the call.
A woman said she was calling for Schwans, wanted to do a 12-15 min. survey
I have no idea who this person is that called at this number: 514 904 3190. I just let the answering machine click in.
If this is a bank it would be nice if they only called their customers. This is very annoying at 2-3 times a day and no message is ever left. Especially when one is on the DNC list.
I'm going to answer next time so i can just give them whack answers...lol
5149043190 is a collections number for Chase Bank.
They call me at all hours of the day and night up to and including 7 times a day in as many days or more. but left no message. I haven't answered the phone because they hang up just before I get to it. and Sometime I just don't answer the phone. I want this stopped.. Please I'm on the no call list. I don't know who they are and I don't care to know..I don't have any family there..There is no reason for them to plague me with this many calls a day. Please get them to stop...Thank you..
This number called at 8:59 pm. No message left. Very annoying, as that is what, one whole minute before they're not allowed to call anymore? I'm on the do-not-call list, too.
I answered this time, and I hve a sound on my phone of a girl screaming like in a horror movie. I played it for the lady on the other end for when I answered, she said, "Hello? Hello!" and I think I scared the shit out of her!!! So fun
i didnt answer but that does sound like fun!! I'm goint to do what Ann said below
My land-line (in British Columbia) was called at 14:11 Pacific today.
I was not home. No message was left.
Although everyone finds these kind of calls annoying, survey companies don't care and will keep calling as long as they can get useful answers for the businesses who hire them to ask the questions. So why not turn the tables on them for a change and have some fun while you are at it?? Give them fake answers! Keep them on the phone! Make them waste their time and money!
How much income does my family make? Why we have millions, we just won the lottery! Is there someone over 18 we can speak with? You hand the phone to one of your kids. Do you prefer Brand A or Brand B? Neither-I buy Brand C because those others are horrible!
The point is, use your imagination and have fun with these companies who waste your time. Think of them as the monkeys who dance for the organ grinder instead of the nuisance that interrupts your family dinner time. If enough people give these companies bad or useless answers they will stop calling!
Call was sent to a special extension set up for telemarketers and solicitors. Our corporation policy does not allow us to participate in Surveys. Caller identified himself as Jason Boss from Ipsos Reid and gave us a phone number to call with a reference number if we wanted to participate in the research/survey. He was very professional (unlike many others who leave messages). We will not be calling back!
no message
This number has called 9 times in the last three days and won't leave a message. Like others have said, very annoying !!
Call several times a day. Never leave a message. Very annoying!
Got my answering machine, did not leave any message...just hung up.
Called me at about 4:15 PM. Didn't recognize the caller from called ID, so let the machine answer. Caller left no message. From reading earlier comments about this caller asking questions about banking, I never talk to anyone outside the tellers at me bank about ANY banking business. My bank does not ask questions about doing business with them.
Received 3 calls from this number in 2 days, no one home to answer, and didn't leave a message. Only says "Quebec" on the caller ID. We neither know anyone in Canada much less Quebec, nor do we know anyone traveling there.
Yes I would like to know who called this number from my house phone? If you know Jessica Bish let me know Please. Thank you and have a great day.
Ipsos Reid Survey
514-904-3190 repo car company. They will take your stuff even if you don't owe anything. Do not answer them or they will be in front of your house!
It a survey company, asking questions about credit cards.
Hung up after answering machine took over.
So i just got a call from this number but i didn't answer. From all the things I've read they'll call again? I can tell you this much; It's not a survey company. A lot of people have been surveyed, but for different things. Just saying..
Did not pick up
I would like to know why I getting these calls when I am on the "do not call registry" list. These people from "Montreal QC" call my number 4 times in one evening. I work the nights and had to finally unplug my phone just so I can get some sleep. I don't know what else to do. I should have know that the "do not call registery" wouldn't do any good. It is a scam like everything else is.
Caller ID read 514-904-3190 Montreal PQ. Called me in Texas at 7:20 p.m. CST and 7:25 CST, but left no message and I did not pick up.
Is this from this company? ipsos.ca
Husband answered phone. They said they were a survey company and asked him questions about how much money we have. He declined to participate.
have called for several days in a row in the evening at around 7pm; never leave a message and I never pick up..... annoying
Calling 3 times in 1 night is a bit excessive. What is so important that they can't leave a message?
Called during dinner, no message, but reading the notes below, glad I didn't answer. I like the person who asked what they were wearing. March seems to be a high season to ignore the Do Not Call list. March Madness?
Told him i didn't have time to talk and to please put me on his Do Not Call list. He said he would and that was the end of the calls.
Received a call this evening at approx. 7:30 pm.
Refer to my earlier comment left here on Oct. 1, 2009. It was Ipsos Reid again, calling to ask some survey questions. Pretty much the same routine as last time. I declined and the agent thanked me and hung up.
This Number 514-904-3190 called my home Jan7/10. A male voice claiming to be from the Federal Government of Canada was calling and that someone in the house-hold over 18 MUST answer a 15 min-20 min survey. Verbalizing in a very aggressively demanding manor and repeatedly insisting that someone in the household MUST answer his questions. I asked several time for him to clarify who was calling and he would only answer” It was the Federal Government of Canadian phoning on official business”. I asked him respectively if it was the Harper Conservatives organization calling. he would only answer that it was the Government of Canada calling and said that, if I thought that they (conservatives) was the Federal Government of Canada, then it was but at no time would he admit that it wasn’t and would state, it was the Federal Government of Canada phoning on official business. He would not identify what area of the Federal Canadian Government was calling. I told him that I wasn’t interested in talking to the Federal Government of Canada. He then insisted that I give him a time for when the Federal Government of Canada would call back. I said again that I was not interested in talking to him. He then insisted that someone other than me that was over the age of 18 would have to talk to the Federal Government of Canada if I refused. At this time I told him that I was not interested in any one in my house hold speaking with him and then politely hung up the phone.
The heavy handiest of this phone call was left me traumatized and fearful that our current ruling conservative government will somehow jeopardize me and my family with and possible future repercussions.
We have gotten calls all day long today from this number 514-904-3190. Caller ID says Montreal QC. Calls received at 2:17 pm, 4:11 pm, 5:41 pm, and 7:11 pm. I'm on the Do Not Call Registry.... and I'm pretty sure I'm unlisted.
I receive calls from this number once or twice every day. I answered only once. A young man said hello, then hung up.
They never leave a message. When I see a call from this number, I now pick up the receiver only to cut off the ringing.
Sometimes I just let it ring. I wish the authorities would stop these annoying calls, or shut down their operation.
x
They Call, I dont answer. They call again, I have call blocking and block their number.
They keep calling, I keep not answering, they don't get the picture.
caller ID reads Montreal PQ
They called just now and said theyre doing a survery on the behalf of florida..and asked if there are any men over the age of 18 lliving here. I told them I am not interested and I hung up.
Got this call the other night, the woman was very pleasant, talking about a survey and if the man or lady of the house was in. For some strange reason I felt like being silly, so I told her that I was the butler and I would take a message. When she asked when the man and lady of the house would be back, I answered "They're in Paris for six months." The lady sounded surprised, but still pleasant, thanked me and hung up. LOL. I live in Texas, by the way, so was surprised when my caller ID said "Quebec".
I have received several calls from this number. It is Montreal QC. I am on the do not call list but I guess Canada does not abide by it. I will report them and see if we can't have this taken down.
CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE PARTY IN CHARGE OF I.T., I SAID THEY HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY AND THEY SAID THANK YOU AND HUNG UP.
Asked a series of questions about my household purchases of chicken (fast food, grocery store, etc.) When she finished, I then asked her what she was wearing. I have been removed from their directory.
These calls appear to be from the "Loyalty Marketing Research" division of Ipsos Reid. Apparently, they want to know if I'm satisfied with the service that I've received from my bank.
Like the others who've posted here, I don't discuss my banking habits with strangers, so I declined to participate in their survey. However, their questions did seem kind of innocuous. Telling someone that I'm happy/unhappy with my bank doesn't seem to be the kind of thing that a scammer would be interested in. :-)
Called my desk at work, I was at lunch. No message left.
Caller ID read "unknown name".They called at 6:38 pm, which would be around 9:40 pm.They identified themselves as ISOPS surveying company. They wanted to ask about retail transactions and how they are paid for, either debit or credit card. They asked if there was anyone between the ages of 18-25, said no, they then asked if there was anyone from the ages of 26-35, then 36-55.I think those are the right ages groups but none the less I found it very annoying. They said they would call back another time.Sure enough the next day they called again.I get these calls on average once a week.I would never discuss banking affairs with a third party. There are just to many scams out there.I wouldn't take any chances!
Caller ID read "Montreal QC". They called at 8:40 pm, which would be 11:45 p.m. their time. They indentified themselves as some market survey company. They wanted to ask us some survet questions regarding the recent services we have had with Bank of America. I never discuss our banking with a third party, I declined. They then tried to get me to give them another time to call. I just hung up.
This is a survey company. Apparently legit. I did a survey about my homeowners insurance (Balboa Insurance)
