How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Spoke to rude gentleman with bad accent who asked to speak with my parents. When I asked for more information about where he was calling from, he said he didn't have time to waste "playing games with kids" and hung up. For the record, I'm 26.
Dish Network, you say?
Lady who did not speak English well at all asked for a person who's name I never heard of. Since it was not even close to mine or my husband's, I told her she had the wrong number. She then said demanded to talk to the person (could not understand her English) and I again told her she had the wrong number. She said OK and hung up. She never said who she worked for.
We've received many phone calls from this number. Initially it was hangups but the last call was from a man with an Indian accent calling about a satellite network. Caller ID lists as "Unknown Name".
Dish Network. She wouldn't tell me at first. I told here I had Direct (which I don't) when she started talking about Dish I told her I was kidding and actually had Dish. She then proceeded to hang up on me. Nice lady.

Rude man with bad accent wanted to know if I had sattelite or cable tv, hung up when I asked to be put on the do-not-call list.

This number called and let it ring 2 times i tied calling it back and could'nt get through.They can call me but i can't get through to them that's weird.

someone called me with this number... telemarketer maybe? however, i dont answer numbers that are not stored in my phone. they did not even left a message... how rude

hangs up when i pick up
Sattelite Center. Selling Dish Network, gave call back as 1-866-331-0096, and web site as dishnetwork.com, claimed the actual call was made from Manhatten, New York.
CID showed the number but with "Unknown Name" as the displayed name.
Spoke with "Halley" for about 15 minutes to gather info.
They have called once so far. I answered and it was dead air until I was screaming "hello" several times and then it went to a dial tone.
this number has been calling me almost daily and they won't talkor eevr leave messages. I can't find any info on the number. I think they are waiting to get a softer female voice on my end so they can spring a pressure sales pitch on someone other than me. The satelite tv sales pitch sounds like it could be right because I have had several of those lately too. I wish I could reach through the phone and drop some of these callers.
This number showed up again today and I answered it this time to get someone trying to sell me satellite tv and he had a very fake accent. Was very beligerent when I would not take him up on his offer. This is the first time anyone was ever on the other line.

Repeated calls from this number. Never a msg...if I pick up - no dial tone and I hang up..if I do not pick up it just rings and finally they hang up - never a message..I am calling the phone company and report this as harrassment as they do not stop calling. I am already on the "do not call list"
caller ID shows Dayton, OH but they never leave a message. I do not answer.

Same comment as "d". I ignored the call for a while, but finally answered and also only got a dial tone.
repeated calls from this number. When I answer the phone there is only a dial tone. They have already hung up...no matter how many rings I let the call go.
