How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Have received repeated calls from this number. Finally answered the one that came in this morning. Caller did not identify herself, but asked for someone who does not live at my address. Informed her that this # is on Do Not Call list & that she had a wrong #. Googled number, found out companny is
General Revenue Corporation,

Cincinnati, OH 45249.
Filed complaint at Donotcall.gov.
This and other sites like 800notes.com list General Revenue as a probable debt consolidation scam or collector violating FDCPA.
Recommend filing complaints at donotcall.gov and ftc.gov.
sometimes phone numbers get linked to the wrong people - explain the situation and ask the collector to mark your number as bad!!! remember it IS a collection agency - there is a person with a debt out there and they are just trying to find them. if its you.. answer your phone and pay your bill -- if its not you.. ANSWER YOUR PHONE and let them know its not a good #-- or at least call back and make aware the number is no good - just wastes everyones time calling bad #s for weeks at a time with no response... AND on the other hand - wasted your time and gives a headache listening to the phone ringing all day... and responding to the person who said from the IRS... you can have your IRS taxes withheld for not paying your student loan... and wages garnished!!!!

They have called numerous times. Everytime I answer, no one is on the other line. It sounds like a phishing scam. I finally called them back and they told me who they are looking for. That person has not lived here for at least a year. I think they just made the name up.
I have been receiving multiple calls per day for the last three days from this number. I answered once and they asked for a name that I never heard of. I told them so and not to call again.

These people call everyday for a week, take a break for a week then start calling everyday for a week again. They are some type of collection agency, but they don't give you there names, and sometimes they hang up, if you aren't the person they are looking for and call right back the next day, as if this so called person popped up in thin air.
