Called twice 05-07-09. Vehicle will be reclassified first time. Second nothing.
They left the following message on my answering machine - This is an improant message about your current credit card account. We have made serveral attempts to reach you. This is your final courtesy call before we are unable to lower your credit card interest rate. Press 1 to speak to our member services department or press 2 and your eligibility to lower your rates will expire.
They are correct about the serveral attempts. I have tried pressing 2 before but the attempts continue. I have pressed one but as soon as they sense that you are trying to get enough information to file a complaint the line goes dead. With today's technology there has got to be a way to trace these calls and put them out of business.
Someone from this phone number called, but left no voice mail message. The caller ID showed: “(506) 220-4568 New Brunswick” This is the third call in two months from what seems to be the same caller from New Brunswick (which is using different phone numbers).
It would be advisable when Caller ID shows a phone number you do not recognize, to just let it go into voice mail. If it really is an important message for you (and not a sales/solicitation call), or if they are a legitimate business or organization, they would leave a personalized and detailed message as to who they are and the purpose of their call.
To hopefully put a stop to these repeat calls, I have been keeping a log of phone numbers that leave no voice messages for the past three months, and reporting these unsolicited phone calls on phone number websites such as this one.
The other phone numbers that called in the past two months (and seems to be from the same caller) are:
(560) 226-4566 with Caller ID: "New Brunswick”
(560) 224-4561 with Caller ID: "New Brunswick"
and this one being reported now:
(506) 220-4568 with Caller ID: “New Brunswick”
Hopefully FCC / phone investigators will put a stop to these phone calls.
Also got a call from this tele# said they could help with our car warranty.......why did I bother putting my number on the Do Not Call List??
this is not the first time I have gotten a call from this number! And its a recording....not like I can ask them if they think I just fell off the turnip truck!!!
I now realize these scams are calling almost everyone everyday sometimes 8 times. to stop them I have bought a megaphone for $25. when the recording says push 1 to speak to a representative I pretend I am interested and when they ask my name I use the megaphone to scream STOP CALLING. I
Received weekend call from unknown caller, recorded message said "last chance" for an extended warranty on some automobile. No reference to us, to our car, or anything specific. We've done no business with such a company. Our phone number is on the National Do Not Call List. Message gave no business name, no phone number to call, no nothing except "press 1 to proceed." CROOKS! The Caller ID simply said "Neguac, NB."
something about my car expiring
Got a call from this number that they could lower my credit card rate (and it is their final attempt to reach me). So I held (knowing it was a scam) and when I questioned them they hung up. This has happened MANY times on the same sort of call. Not sure if it is the same number each time.
Recorded message regarding your expiring car warranty. Trying to sell you car warranty. Press 1 to speak to someone. Press 2 to delete forever.
This number called me and hung up wen I answeed the phone but attempted to call two more times.
