How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

it's a telemarketer. I called it back after i didn't answer.
I submitted an application to capital one last week. The caller wanted to verify my name, phone number, last 4 digits of social and monthly income to verify my app.I gave most info then started asking questions they said they needed it to submit the application. I later called Capital one and they did receive my application but felt the call suspicious.
they called all the time 4 times a day and saying they are from capital one asking me my social security #
Caller from foreign land asking to verify my social security # and other private information, said he was with ACS on behalf of Capitol 1.
called back; says "it is a ACS line. If you do not wish to be called again, please leave you name after the tone."
It was a message from Capital One regarding an application I made last week. Message said to call an 800 number back in the next 24 hrs to verify information on the application. I called the number back and spoke with a man in a foreign land who verified a few of the information facts that were on the application. Message said it would take 2 minutes but it took more like 5 - 7 minutes with the language barrier.
Got a message saying they were calling about a Capital One credit card application I submitted.
said it's acs marketing research company.
jThey just called, I was on the other line..didn't answer.
Mans voice said to call 1-800-733-1471 to validate my information about credit card. He said I needed to call in the next 24 hours for faster processing... Ya Right, I haven’t applied for any credit card.

I have gotten two calls from this number. One was yesterday, 10/16. The second call was today, at 10/17, around noon. I'ts really annoying.
