Lost my job last year and haven't worked in months. Bitch from this company calls, I try to be decent but explain that I have ZERO dollars, no income, etc. and am living with a relative. She starts cussing me and telling me that I'm the kind of person who's destroyed our economy, scumbag, thief, etc. I hung up. Next time, it's some douchey sounding guy, sounded like Napolean Dynamite. I go threough explaining all this again, and the guy won't quit snickering, which REALLY pissed me off. I ended up cussing him out untik he hung up. Now I just don't answer, and may get an unlisted number...

We get several calls a week from this number. I finally called them back and told them to remove us from their list... wrong number... nobody with that name lives here. They said they'd take the number off their list. We'll see.

I found free letters on adviceontime.com that you can mail to this a@@holes to get them to stop calling you. They also have an article on how to deal with them. Fight back, they have to respect your legal rights.

They just called me on my cell, They were talking about being open Friday from whatever times they said. Then they said,"Hello?" I thought maybe I didn't press talk but then they hung up. Weird!

AAC again! Geez, they never give up do they?

2007-04-12 01:30:32 UTCLJ

AACC has been calling daily, except weekends, for over 2 weeks. Today, though, was the first time they left a message on the machine. He identified himself as "Scott from Asset Acceptance" and said, "By continuing to listen to this message you are acknowledging that you are, indeed..." and stated my name. Well...DUH? What the heck is that supposed to mean?

They were calling me at work and i noticed a posting from a guy kevin on this website from another debt collector redline recovery and the guy said to go to adviceontime.com to get info. I was shocked because that website does have a lot of good info and its free, they dont even require you to register or anything. i tried one of the letters and they havent called me! I hopes it works for you guys too.

called twice. only the phone number showed up. they are a debt collector.

2007-03-13 16:19:55 UTCMelissa

I had no idea who called, so I called them back from a private line. They answered ," Asset Acceptance, how may I help you. So I hung up, because I figured it wasn't anyone important. Once i figured out it was a debt collector I ignore the calls, knowing that I don't have any debt expect what I owe on my credit cards. Which is less than $1,000. You should ignore them and tell the to stop calling. I think they want to pay off your debt and charge you with some huge interest.

this company calls my house everyday but I'm never home to answer this call. What the hell could be so urgent from them that they would call me every day?

2007-01-22 20:50:40 UTCChris

It is Asset Acceptance that is calling. They are a debt collection company. Their web page is: assetacceptance.com

I just listen to my Messages
The person leaving the message
Kept repeating a 800 # to call back
and then at the end I heard a
Guy say that was pretty funny

2006-11-20 16:44:26 UTCkari

they called my cell phone 3 times today. next time i am going to answer.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
