How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This may be legitimate, BUT they need to have some way to let them know that I AM NOT the f$#@!ng person they are trying to get ahold of (2-3 calls every day for over a week). A robot caller gone amok!
I get calls from Teltrax and decided to answer one time. It is doctor's appointment reminder calls. At least that's what I get from them.
my doctor uses this so you can get test results
Someone called, left message that I have an appt on June 1 at 4PM?? Scary!!
Please leave a message or remove me from your call list. Five calls a day every day is more than excessive.
This is legit. I had my regular annual appointment last week, and they gave me a card saying that I would have to call 1-800-585-9299 to get my test results. It's not a scam, and they didn't ask for my social, I had to enter a personalized number that my doctors office gave me, and then you just have to verify your name...no scam here, the doctor tells you about it
Legit. It was a message reminding my wife of a dentist appointment next week. My guess is that use of the service provides healthcare providers with solid proof that efforts were made to keep their patients informed in all cases. On further thought, and in this lawsuit-happy society we live in, that's not an unwise move.
Answer it. The caller is TelTrax, your doctor's messaging service. They are either calling about an appointment or to give you test results. If you had testing done and ignore this call, you won't get your results. You need to call the number in the message. Your ID number is either your Social Security number or your patient number at the doctor's office. TelTrax is located in Arizona - your doctor does not have to be in AZ to use their services. The person who records the message is your doctor's employee. Let your doctor know if you can't understand them.
I don't know if this is legit or not, but it is annoying and we do not answer. The name for whom the message is for is unclear~almost a blank. They want an ID number and we have no idea what they are talking about. Please go away!!
This was a message from my doctor's office giving me lab results on a cat scan I had done
you're right, it was a dr's office leaving an automated reminder. I'm so glad I got that cleared up b/c I get so many calls from weird named companies that will not leave a message and I will not answer the phone to! I wish the caller id could at least reflect that it is affiliated with a doctor's establishment or something!
who are these people and why doesnt being on the no-call list work?
It is a service that calls for Dr.Offices to remind of appointments.
I received a reminder of a doctor's appointment from this number.
did not answer, but would like to know why they have called me 4 times in less than 4 hours..
Not a scam. Doctor's offices use this service to remind you of an impending appointment!
The message left from this number was a recording to remind me of an upcoming doctor's appointment that I really do have.
It's legit. Planned Parenthood uses it...it's a division of MedVoice.
Today 03-20-09, "UNAVAILABLE" caller identity. Called twice/did not answer either time.
Another number for your TELTRAX list 480 421 9723. I've received 2 calls yesterday and today from this number saying to "hold for a message from my doctor". I haven't been to a doctor since 2003 and definitely DO NOT have an appointment scheduled or any results pending, so if this is legit why are they calling?
This is a service that my doctor's office uses so that they can pass on any information in regards to appointment reminders and lab results. HIPAA is very strict on how some of this information is passed. With this system, you have to verify who you are before you can hear the information. This way in case there was a misdial in your phone number or someone pretended to be you, the office isn't passing on confidential information to someone else. They typically aren't even allowed to tell your spouse/family member/etc. that you have an appointment (unless you have given them permission to). And it is especially important when is comes to labs. They could get into A LOT of trouble if they just left your lab results over a message machine. (ex. 'Mr. So&so, your chlamydia test came back positive, we'll need you to return for treatment' and then the Mrs. hears the message & wonders how her husband has chlamydia...ooops) It covers the office's behind.
But, if you have no idea that your doctor's office is using this system, contact them to find out. I'm assuming that if you aren't given a log-in type ID number, it goes by last 4 ssn. My doctor gave me a little card with an ID number so that I don't have to use ssn stuff. If in doubt, call your doctor. Hope this helps.
Could you please let me know who this is and why they are calling me and telling me I have a doctors appointment with someone whom I do not know.
Was a reminder for a doc appt that was actually scheduled
When I answered the phone, I got a recording saying "Please hold on for an important message from ..." - the name was not clear.
Received 2 calls on 10/17/08. First was a fax and the second was "please hold for an important message..."
As soon as I hear that I hang up. My son recently has a doctor's appt. and lab tests but the doctors office calls us directly.
I just go a call from this number, it was a recording leaving a voicemail, to remind me of an upcoming dr's appointment. So this number is no a scam. They are appearently contracted by Dr's for call like this.
I just got a call from this number, it is legit, It was reminding me of an up coming Dr's appointment. That I actually do have.
I get this call every month and they always leave a message saying that I have a Dr's Apt tomorrow at so and so time.
This is not a scam!!!!! I just recently went to a new doctor for blood work and on the papers that you must fill out, there was a section that clearly stated that I would receive this phone call when all the tests results were in. It also stated that it would ask for my SS# and Birthdate. I guess I am the only one that reads things before I sign them to know this information from the sounds of the above posts.
If you think it is a scam then simple contact the doctors that you see and find out if they are using this service!!!
stupid thing wont let me log in, but they called this afternoon. Again, recording telling me to hold, so I did. Some bonehead gets on and asks for my SS# for my results. Told him I havn't been to a doctor in about 2 years, and he says I need to give him my SS# or I may be in real trouble with the authorities. I just laughed at him and hung up.
Received a call from this number and got the message -- "Please hold for an important message from your doctor" -- I visit different doctors for different things ALL the time and NONE of them have EVER used this type of a service. An actual person ALWAYS call me directly and speaks to me. This is definitely a scam.
Just called the number back and I get a private residence. SCAM!SCAM!SCAM!
Tells me to hold for an important message from my doctor. My doctor isn't in Arizona. Just hung up.
Message from my Dr.'s office with instructions on how to receive my test results. It's legitimate.
Medical message service: lets you know to call a 1-800 to retrieve your test results, etc. Wish that the quality of the voice message left was better though!
'Please hold for this importent message from your dr....' [click]
Stupid idiots.. you don't call a person to ask if THEY can hold for you. thats like calling your freind to say 'can't talk right now i'm bissy!'
my warning: since most companies ask last 4-digit SS# for authentication. Once you give it out, they can use it to take over your accounts.
No message
You know, I just said today that I hadn't gotten my results from my doctor. Didn't know it was gonna show this number on the ID, though!
message from local clinic with reminder for appt monday.
a reminder for a doctor's appointment is what I got. This number must be a service to clinics or hospitals that do not have the time and staff to reach you.
was to call another number and enter your last four digits of your social security number to get your results of tests. This is legit, since we were waiting on these results. Plus, they only require four digits of the SS#. Live in TX, but call comes from AZ -- guess this is where the results of the tests were sent ???
That number has called me 3 times today. Have not answered, and they left no messages.
Totally sounds like a scam. Beware.
Left message:
"The number to call to listen to this message from your doctors office is 1-800-585-9299. Enter your social security number to retrieve your message."
Sounds like a scam to get your social security number.
Left no messege - no idea
