Got a call from this number yesterday morning on my ex-girlfriend's cell phone (on my account). Didn't answer, no message left. I strongly suspect that US Bank has sold our phone numbers, as I have never gotten spam calls or spam texts until she opened an account with them.

So I got in and decided to find out where it would go. Told them I had a 2004 Porseche 911 Turbo, to spice it up. He pulled a number that I know from experience would be enough to replace every part in that car, or at least dang close. Began to ask for payment information before gathering a V.I.N., plate numbers, nothing! I was going to whip out a V.I.N. I pulled up on the web of a crushed 911. But nope, straight to the obvious scam stuff. When I said I would need to speak to my accountant he tried to pull me from that idea. When I asked for the name of the Corporation, he gave me Warranty Service Center. Looked it up while we chatted and couldn't find a thing. So I asked for a number to call him back and he told me they didn't have one. Out and out scam and they seem to be doing pretty well. As for the people saying that they are in the UK, wrong. They are routing the calls through there so they can't be traced. Well, traced with the usual means that are available to us civilians.

Missed call on my cell phone - couldn't imagine who would have called me from Europe. Just got the call last night - haven't received it again yet, but I will make sure never to answer it after reading what everyone here has said!

2008-05-16 17:32:28 UTCLarry K

Did not answer just wondering who it was

2008-05-16 17:27:45 UTCMR

Auto warranty again!

2008-05-16 16:37:22 UTCdealer

It all started after my cell number was put in their system during a visit to a Toyota dealer for service...

2008-05-16 16:30:14 UTCTOT

Same recorded warrantee message 11:27AM 5-16-08 - definitely scam - need harsher laws for these people

2008-05-16 16:12:45 UTCAL

1 missed call on cell phone. Number looked foreign. Did not bother to call back. No message was left.

2008-05-16 16:06:56 UTCD

Asked to be removed from their calling list list and they said "We'll think about it and call you tomorrow with a decision" then hung up.

2008-05-16 15:32:32 UTCHMMMM

I am more inclined to think they are doing something more with the number. Like making sure it is a working number then selling it or something. So many ways to steal and slam reg. phones these days.

2008-05-15 21:26:50 UTCAbs

A recorded message from a UK number +44 corresponds to United Kingdom. Are these people now bypassing the do not call list by calling from abroad?

2008-05-15 20:57:34 UTCKarina

I didn't answer - it was a call to my cell phone. No message was left on my voice mail.

2008-05-15 20:49:19 UTCStacy

MISSED CALL ??? DID NOT ANSWER

2008-05-15 18:10:51 UTCR.S. Robinson

A computer voice said something to the effect that my car's warranty had expired, and told me to press 1 to talk to a representative, 2 to disconnect. I pressed 1 and was connected to a representative. He asked for information on my vehicle. I asked who was calling. He repeated his request. I again asked who was calling. He again repeated his request. I told him I was on the do-not-call list and asked the name of his company. He said "warranty renewal." I told him to remove my number from his contact list and ended the call.

2008-05-15 17:44:17 UTCcef

This stinks. There should be a law........ There is isn't there?

2008-05-15 16:47:22 UTCck

looking for credit card info to lower your rates, i got a hold of a rep.-named josh and told him to stop calling he hung-up on me. When I called back it went to a cell phone it was a 609 area code NJ it is a scam!

2008-05-15 13:52:30 UTCC. Copeland

Pressed one to talk to live person. This guy had a strong New Jersey accent and was extremely rude when I called him on the scam.

2008-05-15 02:10:48 UTCAnonymous

Warranty Information, it stated my warranty had expired, and to press 1 to speak with someone, I pressed, and then since was about 5th time, they called, and felt it was very suspicious, I stated I was a bit busy but if their was a number I could call back , imediatley they hung, be caredull they are fishing for information for identity theft. do not give any info. try and get any info and report it on fcc.org.

2008-05-14 14:58:40 UTCBrandy

I ignored the call and a message saying press 1 to disconnect was recorded.

2008-05-14 00:05:31 UTCAJ

Was on my personal cell...

2008-05-13 22:47:38 UTCHugh

when i pressed the button to select to talk to someone to have my number removed they hung up on me

2008-05-13 18:07:00 UTCTexas

Got a call from this number saying that my car's warranty had expired and that they'd sent me several emails with no response. Automated voice told me I could press 1 to speak with a live operator or 2 to disconnect. So I pressed 1. The live operator asked me for the make and model of my car, and I declined to give him that information. I asked him to remove my number from their database, and it was at that point that he hung up on me.

2008-05-13 17:00:37 UTCSteve

I received a call from this English number this morning. It said to press one because my car warrentee was expiring. I knew it was a scam because my car is 21 years old (still has under a 100,000 miles though!). I pressed one and got a live person on the line. He most definately did NOT have a British accent. He was American. That indicates that these calls are being routed through a foreign country so as to evade tracking and prosuction under U.S. law. When I tried to find out who the company was who was offering the extended policy the man hung up on me, which is fairly typical for these types of calls. The next time I'll play along and give them false information in the hopes of getting more information about the company. The last company who pestered me I chased down and reported to the FBI. The calls stopped real fast.

2008-05-12 20:07:41 UTCMike

Just received a phone call and they did not leave a message showing this number.

2008-05-12 19:43:30 UTCAngie

Warranty notification expired, called on my cell phone, I don't own a new car, my car is 13 years old, so I am sure the warranty is dead, but never had one in the first place.. Sounds like spam to me over the phone waves..

2008-05-12 17:52:58 UTCDC

What is with these people?!?! I keep getting at least one call per day, each from a new number....

2008-05-10 19:33:27 UTCmixbsd

Probably another off-shore warranty scamster with a VoIP account that terminates in London, UK (hence the +44-207-xxx-yyyy number).

2008-05-10 19:02:46 UTCens

Call came to my cell phone I didn't answer. Is this the new way to scam us. Guess they don't have the National Do Not call list

2008-05-10 18:57:42 UTCcd

Warranty phone call for my 2008 brand new car!!!

2008-05-10 18:25:52 UTCno

2008-05-10 16:33:28 UTCupset

2008-05-10 16:30:34 UTCChad

I didn't answer. It was a call to my cell phone.

2008-05-10 00:49:21 UTCbarbara

just got a call from them same message as posted below...what the hell?? I am on the do not call list as well

2008-05-10 00:12:40 UTCphxSam

warranty notification, but for what they never said. just that my warranty would expire soon. also odd, 44 is the country code for the UK, and area 207 is just outside London. seems like a long way to call to scam me.

2008-05-09 22:37:43 UTCWHAT

WARRANTY? RIGHT???

2008-05-09 19:39:02 UTCT.J. Brown

It was a recorded message too!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
