getting this crap in MD every week or twice a week. I wonder if Verizon getting paid for this; they would do something about it, otherwise. Those scumbags are used to being abused, when you start mentioning their mother, they just quietly hang-up. Crisis is breeding all kinds of freaks.
It's a scam. Report them to the FTC and/or whatever law enforcement you can think of (the FBI has jurisdiction on interstate fraud). They're spoofing their caller ID number, thinking that'll keep them from being caught. They're wrong. But somebody such as the FBI would need to get into the act to track them down.
Have dealt with them a few times - They originally operated under US nubmers. First time I got the msg, I pressed 2 to opt-out and not deal with it but got no confirmation, just a disconnect. Rang again a 2nd time a few days later I asked to speak with a rep from the company. I asked him why he was calling people on the Do Not Call Registry and he promptly hung up. It came through on the 442 number yesterday, tried hittng 2 again and actually got a message this time saying "Your number has been removed". Next time I'm going to play dumb debtor and see how much info I can get them to spill, probably a waste but these twits are annoying.
Got a call from "Account Services". Same schpiel. Said from Arkansas, has no website, asked for name and then hung up.
UK?
I guess that's why the kind phone agent said "Good luck with that" when I told him I was reporting him to the DoNotCall police. He sounded American, said he was from Washington DC. I don't have caller ID so I didn't see the number.
Well Micheal from Account Services company...I hope you know...I'm REALLY annoyed!
didn't pick up since I don't know anyone in London, but I SMS'd and they never replied.
Guess the Nigerians have invaded the UK now. ;-)
I'm on the do not call list but this looks like an overseas solicitation. IT sucks because I have friends overseas and really only recognize the country codes... but now I just can't answer the phone anymore unless I have all their digits memorized. :(
this is a telephone solicitation (that I received on my cell phone) regarding a credit card...."this is an important call regarding your credit card. It is not in danger as of now, but will soon be. Call now to select a low, fixed rate..." My phone is registered with "DoNotCall.gov", so if someone actually finds out who this is, please let me know so I can sue their butts for violation of a federal privacy act law :)
Received the call from them. They said that they were with account services. Asked if I had more than $2,500 of credit card bills. I asked them if they heard of the federal do not call list. She kept repeating her spiel and I hung up.
This is an out-of-country phone solicitation that said something about credit card rates. I was not home so it went to voice mail and I heard their recording on the VM message. The country code, 44, is the UK. I have Vonage with free calls to the UK so I dialed the number. There was no answer, but it was like 2:00 AM there. I've also received these calls from Mexico (country code 52). I guess the phone solicitation calls are moving offshore to avoid the do-not-call lists.
did not answer the call because of the 12 digit number....
Got a call from this number - they said my eligibility for some sort of special interest rate was about to expire.
this is a telephone solicitation (that I received on my cell phone) regarding a credit card...."this is an important call regarding your credit card. It is not in danger as of now, but will soon be. Call now to select a low, fixed rate..." I do not even have a credit card. Funny thing, my cell phone is registered with "DoNotCall.gov", so if someone actually finds out who this is, please let me know so I can sue their butts for violation of a federal privacy act law :)
