when we first moved and got a new phone number we got a call from YPOR at least 3x per day for about 2mo and no one would ever say anything then they would hang up on me then some one was finally on the other line and we told them not to call and they havent called since we also signed up for the national do not call registry and its helped

calls coming 1 or more times a day and noone answers other end, they just hang up. I get the number 414-208-1035 on my caller ID but get this board for that number. Caller ID said YPR .

This is first call, that I know of. However, my number is on the "do not call" list. If they call again, I will report them to the government.

Dr. X was right, read his messages. This call is from some sort of verification system trying to verify your number for the Yellow pages. You need to call your service provider and tell them to take you off this list. If you are a Verizon customer call 1-800-483-4000. Don't forget to read the messages from Dr. X too. I followed what he said to do. Good luck!

They called my phone 22 times within mins from each other first call wat at 7pm on up to 830 pm this is annoying and they should burn in hell

This is unbelieveable. I have read a good portion of all the comments. No time to read all of them now, but I get at least 3 cals per day. It started 2 wks ago. I'm in Chgo, Il and found out the # 414-208-1035 is Milwaukee, Wi.My next move is to call Channel 7 news and see if they can do anything and I'm going to fill my printer w paper and print all these comments. Something has to B done now.

It seems apparent that this company makes calls to people regardless if they are on a Do Not Call List or not. There is no one on the other end to speak to and when the number is called back it is automated asking if you want your number removed then enter your number and verify. On a website I found, whocalled.us there are many calls that have been made by this bogus number, 414-208-1035, even after they followed steps to have the number removed. This is truly an annoyance and for those of us who are all on a Do Not Call List and companies or people keep calling us what are we to do to protect our privacy? I hope this information helps in tracking down these guys and others like them and put a stop to this invasion into our peaceful homes.

They just call and call to verify anyone answers the phone (that it is a live person) - they get paid if someone answers that is why they say nothing.

I have called six times this monrning.

I just got a phone call a few minutes ago. I picked up the phone and didn't say a word and I was transferred to Cynthia, a live person. She said she was from Yellow Pages. I immediately responded by telling her that she needed to stop calling me. She said she could do that but she never verified my phone number. Has anyone been able to stop these calls?

Who are these people? I have an unlisted number and they call at least 10 times a week but never answer their phone.

I Just switched from vonage to comcast and since then i have been gettin the YPOR calls too any idea how to stop them

When you pick up the phone stay very silent until they answer back it'll take a few seconds but they do and then just ask them to stop calling you. Except I was so pissed I cursed at them to take me off but it worked. DO THIS !

I have not had a land line for year. I just recently added digital phone service with my cable company and these BASTARDS call at least 4 times a day. Only ONCE has someone answered and they are from the YELLOW PAGES OPINION REGISTRY. I told them not to call my number again as I have signed up on the DoNotCall.org registry - I've had 5 more calls since then and NO ONE ANSWERS!!.

This is utterly rediculus. Obviously some idot or idots have nothing else to do but to harrass people. I say we file a class action suit and take away their phones and computers and they should not have access to any other way of communication. These people need a Coming Back to Jesus Introduction. We are called two and three times daily and am on the Do not call registry. Pray for these people that they will have a life changing experience.

A few calls every day for the last couple of days. We are unlisted and on the Do Not Call registry list. They don't say anything and when I call back I get an answering machine to put my number in if I want off their list.

I was looking at the FTC's rules of Telemarketing, and it appears that what this company is doing has found a loop hole in what they are doing. That is probably why they have not been shut down. Comcast sold our info. It's not illegal. Deceptive is what it is.

I am wondering after reading all these postings if they haven't changed their phone number to avoid the FTC...It calls from 414-208-1035 but then when you call it says it has changed it's number to 440-331-6633. I'm beyond angry now. I need a land line phone but I'm regretting it daily.

They start at 9AM and call at least 3 times a day. I haven't answered and don't intend to.

Don Not Call List at donotcall.gov will not help you with this number 414-208-1035 because they say they are a telephone surveyor and charities, political orgs and telephone surveyors are not bound by the do not call list. as long as it says it is a survey, the do not call list doesn't even apply. These people are annoying. The 800 number posted in this list now is also a nonworking number so no help there either.

I will not pick up the phone when I don't know the phone #. This has been going on 2-3 time a day, 7 days a week.

I've been getting calls for quite a while. I don't answer the calls because I don't recognize the phone number. No message is ever left either. They call EVERYDAY and at different times.

I guess what I did worked... It is now about a month that I have not recieved a call from the dreaded "YPOR" crap since the initial kind way of asking them to take me off thier calling list.....

HERE's WHAT I DID

(1) I pick up the phone, say nothing, and just listened... "Shocking" when finally somebody that sounds very confused of the silence actually started talking, asking in a really very confused voice if I am still there.. Then she asked me in a shakey voice if I have recieved the latest copy of the "YELLOW PAGES"....

(2)I kindly said yes thank you then without giving her a chance to open a long conversation, I told her how annoyed I am with thier 3,4,5 or more calls daily while I am trying to get some sleep since I work the 12 hour night shift in the ER. I then kindly asked her to take me off thier "CALLING" list and never call me again for any reason (Nicely).... I got a reply of a "Yes Sir We Will Do That" then without giving them a chance to talk further, I said "Thanks", the I hanged up...

( TRY TO KEEP YOUR PATIENCE AND BE NICE... OR ELSE, MAYBE THEY WILL NOT FOLLOW THROUGH IN TAKING YOU OFF THIER CALLING LIST JUST TO GET BACK AT YOU )

They called every day since September. They never leave a message. They hang up when the machine comes on. They need to be stopped.

I called the number on my caller I.D.and all I got was an automated answering system which says thank you for calling customer service if you want your number removed from their system put your number in and it will be taken off their list in 3 to 5 days.And then you have to verify your number or it won't be taken off their list.I just did it now let's see if it's real

I guess I will update again! Well over a month and no calls! If you have the patience wait until they answer then demand off the list and hang up. Hope it all works for all of you. Also the Do Not Call Registry should help.

YOR, stands for yellow pages opinion research. When you are a new move they call to verify if you received your local yellow pages directory. And to give you a free two week gift of the local newspaper. That stops and the end of the two weeks automatic. They get the numbers from the local phone companies and are all published numbers in the phone book. Basically they mean no harm. If you speak with someone and request the Do Not Call List, they will put you on it.

I am getting these calls multiple times a day. It reads out as YPOR, but I am almost positive that the area code for the number I'm getting calls from is "414" not "440". Are code "414" is for Milwaukee. When I pick up there is dead silence. When I call the number I get the same dead silence, no ring,no recorder. I am getting very tired of this

"YPOR"... Huh! Good subject. I get this call day in day out and finally I came to the idea of just picking up my phone, say nothing and listen to what comes up next... "WALLA" After a bout 30-35 seconds, an old womans voice came in and said "Hello", I politely answer with a kind "How may I help you?"
She repplied with "Hane you recieved your latest copy of the YELLOW PAGES?"
I kindly told her "yes we did" and told her about the battery of calls from her company to my household, and kidly asked her if she could take my number off their calling list.... She nicely replied with "Yes sir we will do that" then a thank you, then, bye..... Now let us see if this "YPOR" call still will keep on coming after that initial kind request.... I will keep you all posted....

Perhaps if you keep answering,somrone will eventualy answer. When they do,ask,no,demand to be removed from their file,and call list. It worked for Stan. Who knows?

They finally answered! As soon as they started talking I told them to remove me from there fing list and to never call me again. That was about a week ago. No calls since.

so i was able to get YPOR's call back number... 414-208-1035 ( Milwaukee, WI)when I called it asked if I wanted to be removed from their call list to type in and confirm my ph #.

Just like so many others, we recently moved in and got a new number. We recieve many calls a day. And one EVERY day at 6:30 pm-- drives me nuts.

I think there is a connection between switching to comcast and this caller. Also I wonder if californias are the only ones recieving this call.

I've been living at the same residence and number for 2.5 years in California. I recently switched my phone service from ATT to Comcast, and I believe that's when the calls from YPOR and other toll-free numbers started. Anyone with a similar situation, or just me?

My husbands cell phone # is 331-6633 but not 440 area code. We keep getting calls from irate people claiming we are calling them, but the phone hasn't been touched all day. They say that it shows YPOR. I contacted Verizon about it today. They have no idea, except that someone has used a program which uses something called "can be reached at". This prevents people from showing the number that they are calling from. The only thing they suggested is changing our number.

I receive dozen of calls from this number each day and it is always a call with no one on the other end. Finally, just received call from YPOR and someone was on the other line. It was the New York Post calling. I asked them to remove me from the list. We will see if that works.

Brand new phone line and YPOR accounts for about 75% of our calls. Although I never answered any of their calls I plan to follow the advice of a few other posts and call YPOR back to get off the call list, or call our phone provider to find a way to block it.

Since 1/30/07 have, so far, received 15 calls from YPOR. Usually two calls a day: one around 10 AM, the second around 7 PM. No response on the other end.

I looked this number up on 411.com, it is a land number in Atlanta with BellSouth. It is listed as private/unlisted.

I received a call from this number several times. I filed a complaint to the national do not call registry at donotcall.gov.

They called 20-30 times yesterday. The person calling asked to speak to one of our employees. When he was told that the employee was not avaialble, the caller responded with an expletive filled tirade. He then continued to call repeatedly.

i have had a similar # that i have filed on this site before that was telemarketing, however, anytime i have picked up the phone there is no answer or recording....

The same number has just started calling me - twice today. Shows up as YPOR on Caller ID. Got new phone service with Time Warner Digital Phone. Number is on Do Not Call Registry. Does that not mean anything anymore?

We get 4 to 5 calls a day. We get no response. This is a new # in Dec. Caller ID shows YPOR.

If you have comcast digital voice, you can block up to 12 phone numbers. Just dial *60 and follow directions. This way the call never comes through.

I have filed a complaint with the FCC. I just switched to Comcast digital phone and have received literally hundreds of phone calls from this company. Incredibly annoying, and criminal as well. Chicago is not far from Ohio ( Rocky River ). I will certainly consider driving there if the harassment doesn't stop and confronting these people in person, along with a lawyer. Anyone in?

My wife received a call from this number tonight, asking if we had received our Yellow Book. They also "gave her" four free weeks of the Chicago Sun Times. We are on the Do Not Call list, and will be filing a complaint.

I have been receiving one or two calls a day from this number. I answered it twice, but no one is on the line. I called the number back and the only option is to dial in your number to have it removed from their call list. I have done this three times and yet I still receive calls.

When I called the number back there is an immediate recording stating if we would like our number removed from their dtatbase. There is no live answer no does it reference a particular company. It is VERY annoying. 3-5 calls per day

Charles I had the same issue I transfered my number to Vonage and have been getting all kinds of telemarketing calls, I was on the dotnotcall list, but apparently when I transfered my number it took me off the list.

My number was always unlisted and on the donotcall.gov registry since 2003. I switched to vontage last month and have been getting calls about once a day. I have filed a complaint at with the donotcall.gov. It baffles me that this has been going on for months without being shut down. The carrier who providing this line should be fined for every call made from this line.

Just tried calling back and got through. Like Gina said, they said they would remove me in 3-5 business days. Crossing fingers because this is rediculous!

Every evening for the past 5 days right before 9pm

They have called me about 2-4 times per day throughout the WHOLE LAST WEEK. The most annoying part is I just moved and started the phone line last saturday.

They called while I was out; didn't leave a message, but I saw the number on caller ID.

What company calls without anything to sell? Telemarketer? Who is this caller? Some bored guy trying to create a media buzz? Seems useless to me unless there are hidden charges we get by calling the number back. Lets see what my next phone bill says.

Called at 0928, name on caller i.d. said YPOR. I did not answer, as I never do when the name or number is not known to me. Left no message.

This company YPOR calls at least if not 2x a day. Seems it has something to do with verifying whether you've received phone books. When I called the # all I received was a busy signal. I am sure the calls will continue so I filed a complaint on the do not call registry as well.

If I get one more automated hang-up phone call from your company I will contact my local and state representatives, and contact the Better Business Burue. I have been receiving calls 3-5 times a day for over 2 weeks. When I answer, no one is on the other end and it hangs up on me. This repeated activity is basically a attack on my home phone and is harrasement. I do not want your phone book, I do not want any magazines. I want to be left alone.

"YPOR" called 2 times today and yesterday (12/01 & 12/02) Answered first call yesterday and woman with heavy accent (perhaps Indian)said something about yellow pages I believe. Told not interested and not to call. Has called 3 times since that first incident. Just got Comcast high speed cable 3 days ago. Ugh! Been on the do not call list for 2+ years. What gives.

We were receiving 2-3 calls daily, never leaving a message from this number. We recently moved and it started almost immediately. I finally answered today and they were from some phone book company wanting to know if we received it. I lied and said yes then they pushed the SF newspaper and I had to say no about 3 times. Hopefully that will be the end of these highly annoying calls.

I just got COMCAST Digital Voice - then these stupid YPOR calls.

I pulled out the COMCAST instruction book, found CALL SCREEN, and added this nbr to the "Decline calls from selected parties" list.

TRY *60 and see if you have the service. It says you can add the last nbr by hitting #01. I did it and it immediately screened 440-331-6633.

I am receiving calls from YPOR everyday several times a day since I changed to cable phone service.No response, just silence. If you call their listed number 4403316633 there is a recording to leave your number to "unsubscribe" from their list. I do not know who THEY are and will not do that. I am on the do not call registry but since changing to Time Warner this has happened.

These humps are insidious. Just moved and most of the other solicitors have dropped off since I cleared the No-Call threshold but YPOR keeps on coming on. The reason for the silence for (those who don't understand how this works)I was told is that the company uses a computer system that calls numbers continuously until it gets a pick-up then tries to route the call to an available operator...if all these soulless drones are already annoying someone else, the system hangs up and goes to the next number on the list. When you say "Hello" and get a long pause before someone (sounding a little suprised) comes on the line, they have been rung by the computer just as you picked up and therefore are trying to nail down who they are talking to and launch their pitch before you hang up on the dead air. A "new number" (probably regardless of carrier) opens you up to this...I love talking I.D. for these...you don't even have to get up and look at the phone to screen out the whole world...I, also, have no friends.

Always receiving a call from YPOR (440)331-6633, all time of day, at least 4-5 times a day.

I get 6 calls A DAY from this number, MINIMUM. They always hang up. I'm so sick of it I'm about to discontinue my phone service. I don't know what else to do.

P.S. I have not change my number or company since I moved in almost 4 years ago.

YPOR has called my house at least 3 times a day for a week straight and they always hang up whe the machine answers. They have called as late as 8:45 at night. I have gotten calls on Thanksgiving and on Sundays. It is really irritating.

I am joining this long list of people who are incessantly called by YPOR. They don't answer when you pick up. It IS very annoying. I hope someone figures this out.

I also have my number on the do not call list. I get the ypor call 3-4 times a day 7 days a week. This all started when I switched to comcast for telephone service.

Listen carefully...If yo call the number BACK you have an option to have your # removed from their llist. They were calling me 2 X's a day since I got a new #. The message says that they will stop calling in 3 or 4 days. If they don't...if it continues I will contact the FTC. But I think it will stop. Call back YPOR's # to get them to stop calling you.

I got my secodn call from YPOR (previously I thought the caller ID said VPOR)
This time I did not answer since I figured they were going to hang up on me.

It was an automated call it seemed. And when my Answering machine picked up, it immediately starting leaving a message before the beep. It sounded like they were trying to sell me a magazine, however it was hard to hear and understand thier machines voice over my answering machines voice.

They call me everyday as well. They even called on Thanksgiving and everyday since then.

I received a call from that number at 4:24PM on a Saturday. I didn't recognize the name (VPOR) or the number But I answered it anyways. I said "HELLO" and all I got was a silence for about 5 seconds at which time I just hung up.

Kept getting calls from this company and with the same problem, I decided to put them on a call block list now available through most conpanies. It does work...the only answer they will get now when calling me is that, "the phone # they are calling is not accepting calls from that number." Good luck to all!

I moved in August, got a new phone number, and have gotten a call from them between 7 and 8 pm EVERY DAY. On weekends I get calls early in the morning too, not sure about during the week as Im at work. Its very annoying! I dont answer their calls b/c I dont know who they are and dont care to buy whatever theyre trying to sell or want to listen to whatever they have to say. I just wish it would stop. We have been getting calls from 440-331-6633 for two weeks 2x a day at least. They do not respond when we answer the phone, they just hang up. Reported the number to the do not call registry. Suggest that everyone who gets calls from this number reports it to do not call registry as well, hopefully these bastqards will get a big fine.

I answered phone and waited until they finally answered. They asked if I got my yellow pages and then tried to give 2 weeks free of some New York newspaper. I am putting my new number on the do not call registry also, but it will be a month before I can expect peace. I set my phone to respond to the number that I "am not accepting calls at this time". I picked up a couple of times and got no response, so I decided to unplug my dsl untill I get additional software. Do those of you who picked up with no answer have dsl on networks? Some may not realize this but if you have recently, within the past 31 days, switched phone companies or phone numbers, telemarketers have 31 days to stop calling after you register.I just tried to file a complaint on the National Do Not Call Registry website and they still have another 15 days to keep bothering me, so I wasn't able to file the complaint.But I did call it back and enter my number to have it removed.The recording says it'll take 3-5 days for your number to be removed. Either way, they should stop within 15 days.

I have been called by this number 2-5 times daily for the past two weeks. It has been miserable enough for me to get online and figure out who the hell these people are and what they want with me.

I've been getting multiple calls each day, usually in the evening, from this number for a few weeks now. I've called back, but the message simply says "You've reached customer service...etc." It does not state a company name nor does it allow you to talk to anyone.

I'm getting these calls too but I wonder if by reporting here, the company whatever it is, is using this info for whatever YPO research they're doing.

We are in KC MO and these people won't go away. 3-5 calls a day, no one there most of the time. I got a person once who said that they were the Yellow Pages Opinion Research. I told him I wasn't interested and they still call, but now they just hang up. EVERYDAY!!! I called them back and got the automated system to remove my number, so we will see what happens. I've definately had enough of these people. THEY SHOULD BE SHOT!!!

I have reported YPOR to the National Do Not Call Registry (FTC) twice a day everyday since I started getting the calls. Have not received a response and the calls have not stopped.

Clearly, the mopes at YPOR are targeting people with new phone service. WE NEED TO REPORT THESE PESTS TO THE FTC. If they call you and no one is there, it is considered an abandoned telemarketing call and violates the rules & regulations governing telemarketing practices under the consumer protection act. To make a complaint to the FTC: call 1-877-FTC-HELP. If enough of us report them, they will stop the annoying phone calls.

FYI - If you plan to switch to BRIGHTHOUSE digital phone - think hard b/c they do not offer any features to stop unwanted phone calls - and they will tell you it is not a priority for them - b/c not enough people have requested call block or anything like that. So your screwed. I tried to take the advise of a fellow person on this site and called my phone provider (Brighthouse) and I was basically told they could not do anything and were not planning to anytime soon. I told them the calls started coming as soon as I switched to them them and it didn't mean anything to them. Wonderful customer service let me tell you.

They call like clockwork - two times a day everyday - even on Sundays. Doesn't matter if you answer the phone or not they just keep calling. Maybe it is a social experiment to see how aggravated people will get being called all the time for no reason. I sure hope somebody posts a resolution so we can stop these pathetic pests.

Please, Please report YPOR to the do not call registry - and post it if you do so - that we can see something is being done about it - I get calls every single day - and I want it stopped. I just returned home from a weekend away; was gone from Friday 10-6 about 9 p.m. to Sunday 10-8 about 8 p.m., and in that 48-hour window, there were FIVE calls from this number on my Caller ID. Grrrr. I've been receiving hangups or "no messages" from them for several weeks now, but never this many within a 48-hour period.

I have been on the Do Not Call Registry since its' conception - and I still receive phone calls from YPOR - There needs to be more of a solution than complaining on a website. But every day they call and leave no message caller id says ypor... so i got brave and called number (tuesday afternoon) and it is answered by an automated system where the only option available is to remove your number from the calling list. i was not brave enough to enter my number...

Same here - got a new phone recently and we get 2-4 calls a day since hook up (August 23rd). Calling the number yields similar results as others, busy signal. Our number was registered on the DNC list as soon as I found out what it was, so I'll be contacting FTC myself.

Received 1 to 3 calls per day. One time person picked up on the other line and said they're a survey company. I think they are a skip trace company for hard to find credit people. They look at call patterns and report back to credit colletor agencies.

Have been calling for around two weeks, since I got my new number. Also never answered when I picked up the phone. Today I finally got them to talk. I kept saying "hello" and some lady spoke up after a while saying she was calling from Yellow Pages and was doing some survey. When I said I didn't use phone books she offered a free subscription to the New York Post...which I thought was a little unexpected. I just kept refusing. Who are these people? Are they really from some phone book company? I never got calls from them before.

I just got a call and they actually SPOKE to me. She claimed she was from Verifax doing a survey for the YEllow Pages. She had NO IDEA who YPOR is. I informed her I believed the number to be a scam line and she continued to just say she was doing a survery (no personal questions were asked.. but then, perhaps, my questioning HER made her think NOT to ask).

I have been getting these calls for 3 weeks, and for the first time today, I actually heard someone say something. I could hear some man say, "Sorry". It was a cut in to a conversation. Anyway, it really freaked me out.

I'm on the 'Do Not Call Registry' since December 2005 and I am getting these calls.

I have a new phone also and have been getting calls every day from YPOR. Three days ago they answered and wanted money for some police organization and I told them not to call me again. They have called again, imagine that. After 31 days on the national "do not call list" I will make a complaint. Why can they get away with this?

Anyone getting these calls check out the FTCs website. They are in charge of telemarketers and such. There is a lot of good info on that site. It even tells you what they are required to tell you when the call. CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, about a month ago I posted here about these annoying calls from this number. I explained what I did about it and said I hope it works. It seems that since my last post (almost a month to the day) they have not called at all. I guess my solution works. Call your phone provider, tell them about this site, tell them you will move to a new provider if they don't help you.

I live in florida and we are, for some unknown & probably stupid reson, not allowed to have call blocking features. Ain't that messed up?!?! Anyways, I'm glad I found this site. It was a good reference when complaining to the phone co.

YPOR has been calling and our number is on the Do Not Call list. Reported to DNC.

Unsolicited calls immmediately on new phone. No response even if I answered within the first ring. Called back on cell phone and got a generic "customer service" without any mention of business name. I was prompted to enter my number to remove from calling list and I did. We'll see if it works... This company is shameful.

We started to get calls nightly at the same time after changing from AT&T to Time Warner Cable. We too are on do not call list. Has anyone contacted the attorney general in their state to file a complaint? I plan to in the morning as soon as the office opens. If anyone else has and has gotten some results please post here to let the rest of us know the outcome.

I just got my 10+ call from the YPOR people, whom I've NEVER spoken to because they never say anything when I answer. HOWEVER, today they answered. I asked them to stop calling me. Their reply was that their system is automated, and that when a call is made - a service agent it supposed to pick up and talk to the client, but they don't always get there in time (which explains the dead air) and the caller hangs up before they can get to it. I asked them to stop calling, and they said that now that they've spoken to me and have input that they made contact - that my number will eventually (maybe right away) loop out of their system. I told them that I did not want what they were offering and that I did not want any further calls. They said that if we get a call again, tell the person that I've already been contacted and that should do it. I don't believe this will help - but we'll see. I think that even if I'm out of the loop, my number will eventually recycle and I'll get the calls again. I've filed a complaint with the Do not call registry, so I guess that's all I can do.

I have gotten a call from them every day this week. My caller ID said YPOR. I pick up the phone and they hang up on me.

This company calls us 3 times a day. The first few times I explained we have not received our yellow pages in the 3 weeks we have lived here so far. Now they call 3 times a day and hang up on us every single time. I get tired of them waking up the two babies! Obnoxious! I, too am on the do not call list nationally and locally!!!!!!!

Sometimes no one is there when we answer. Othertimes they they ask for someone who doesnt live at my #. Then they get very rude and hang up on me. Make them stop calling my #!!!

Every since I switched phone company I immediately started receiving bogus calls. This one I hung up on after 4 seconds. I just signed up for the Do Not Call Registry a couple weeks ago so hopefully they will stop. I've had several different calls and no one says anything.

I live in Ventura CA. I've been receiving this call from YPOR 440-331-6633 every weekday at least once, always at or around 9 am. I work nights!!! It's enough to make me go postal. These people and their stupid calls are ruining my sleep every day. This is criminal. I have a choice, leave my phone off the hook while I sleep (and not be able to receive emergency calls), or let these bastards wake me up every single day.....HELP!!

I KNOW WHO THEY ARE!!!!! today they called me and i just growled and grunted then i said in strange voice i tried to act like a computer...heeeellloooooooo..then they said "YELLOW PAGES" something or other. I asked them why they call me and they say it is computer generated number. I told them not to call me again and i was on do not call list. And they said it does not matter as a computer randomly dials my number. I got pissed off and hung up!

Today was the first day they did not call. Maybe it's 'cuz it's Saturday, or maybe calling Verizon did it. I'll wait 'till Monday to be absolutly sure.
TO:Jeff. I would have gladly gone through their bs about getting the phone books and rejecting the free subscription, but every time I answered the phone, there was no one there. Had to call Verizon.

Finally was home to answer last night. "Yes I got my Yellow Pages." "No, I don't want a free two weeks subscription" to the local newspaper. "No" I really don't . . .

I just got off the phone with Verizon about this crazy phone call. I even told the nice lady about this web site and how many people were annoyed by the call. Knowing about this site, she was afraid she might not be able to do anything but said she would try. She put me on hold and came back after about 10 min. to tell me that she has placed my number in their system and that the yellow pages call varification system should kick me out of their data base with in a couple of days. She admitted that Verizon is dealing with third party companies for the distribution and verification of phone books. I told her that if this works, to expect a lot of annoyed web serfers to call her and ask for the same favor. But now that I think about it, maybe if everyone reading this calls to complain, something might get done. The number I dialed was 800-483-4000 (it's verizon "orders" dept.) You'll have to go through at least 2 representatives before you'll find some one willing to help.

Yeah we recently moved to beaver dam, WI and ypor keeps calling and we have AT&T service, we get this 3x a day plus all these other phone calls~

Calls keep coming in from the YPOR crazy~~~I want to find out who this company is but there is no contact information for them. Contacted Verizon and they were no help at all.

Less than 2 day old new number and Im carpet bombed by YPOR. This is an advert for their web site (they hope that you google YPOR). Dont google it because it only helps their cause. Tell your phone provider not share your info.

I have a new home office number...YPOR is just ONE of hundreds of nuicance calls I get per day. YPOR must call about 6-9 times per day at least.

They call 4-7 times every day. The caller ID says YPOR. They never say anything, and when I call the number no one ever answers. Now I say "stop callin me", but to no avail. It's been going on since about July 5th.

I keep getting calls from that phone number and did a search for it on Net Detective. It said the phone is registered to a "WALKOWIAK, JOHN E" from Westlake, OH. It showed his full address also, but not sure if I should post it. I bet some of you would send him a nice letter.....

They call several times a day. If I answer, they do not respond. If I call the number back, the ask me to confirm my telephone number but they never indicate who they are. Whatever game they're playing, they need to be prosecuted.

Just found this site after YPOR (on caller ID) called while I was sitting here on the computer (12:06 pm). Called back and entered my number then verified my number. Will see if they quit calling in the 3-5 days it takes to be romoved from their list.

Our situation sounds the same as all of the others. We just moved in and have received at least 2 hang ups a day from this ID since we began phone service two weeks ago. We are on the DNC list, but it takes awhile to kick in. This is harassment. :P

4403316633 (YPOR) has called several times, never anyone on the other end, and no message left. They just called on 07/12/2006 at 6:45pm. They are calling the Bradenton/Sarasota, Florida area. Pain in the @ss!

In the last 3 days they have called at least once or twice a day. In the last month, I'd say they've called at least a dozen times if not more.
