Was having some computer issues. (Windows Security Essentials interfering with Norton antivirus). Took call using call-wating, so no ID on phone.

This call...Got a call right after a guy called to advise us of computer problems. I asked whom he was with, and he said "North". I said "Norton?" and he said NO. My computer was infected.....
I asked a few more questions and hung up. Then he called back? This number was left on Caller ID.

They called our house this morning while I was doing yard work. When the answering machine picked up the call, they hang up. They don't even bother leaving a message telling me what they want.

State they are a home security system and for letting them put a sign in yard will install a free security system.

The DNC program has done wonders to cut down phone traffic -- within its scope -- from legitimate businesses. You expect somehow that career criminals with sequential dialers should also scrub the list?

This is the second call this week from this number. We don't answer calls when the ID is not someone we know-- figure if it's important, they'll leave a message. This number has never left a message.

Comes up on caller i.d. as " Service Department " - called on 5/23/12 at 4:00 pm.

Just started getting calls from this "new" number. Another "scam" in the works? Same MO - we're on the DNC list yet here we go again!

You GO Anthony! And good luck to you! I don't answer calls I don't recognize the name on. And I'm on DNC - but that only stops the good guys - the ones who abide by the law anyway. I think another idea is to write your congress(wo)man and complain about DNC reporting (what a joke of a web page!) and enforcement.

REMEMBER people, DO NOT give out any information to this FRAUDULENT business in Belmont, I'm currently trying to get in contact with the BBB, (that's Better Business Bureau if you're unaware of what that is) and file a complaint against this business for harassing phone calls and attempted credit card scams. He calls people up that are he thinks are at a hotel and tries to get personal information claiming to be some sort of executive of Verizon and tries to get personal information out of you. DO NOT give this creep any of your personal information, and yes, that even includes your NAME! I recommend using a fictitious name. I know he's using a program called SKYPE to initiate the calls and 'spoof' his telephone number. For those unaware of the term 'spoof' it's a new thing scammers are doing to alter their number that shows up on your caller id, I've contacted them about as well and they've agreed to provide me with log files to be used in court. But anyways, I'll be keeping you guys updated on here so we can finally put a stop to this, he's not gonna get away with this. See, you guys can't just give up like that. You have to be persistent and follow through with procedure if you want to accomplish results. That's how you become KNOWLEDGEABLE! Trust me, that's been my life motto. But enough about me LOL, let's put a stop to this. If you have been getting called by this 425 number then you are probably being a victim of a credit card scammer. I have the necessary information to pursue legal action, so don't hesitate to shoot me an email and I can assist in providing you the information you can give to your local law enforcement and no longer be a victim of this. Hi Kim,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been a victim as well. What you need to do is call your local law enforcement and put a trap on your line like I did. Also, call your phone company and ask to speak to somebody higher up in management (that's the only way you'll get somewhere) and explain the situation. I believe we an put a stop to this guy if enough people voice their grievances. I've been rounding up some the other victims and I've heard some of their stories, and I've come to realize we're dealing with somebody who's deranged and potentially dangerous. I plan on having my lawyer call sometime tomorrow to inform him legal action is being pursued. You wouldn't believe the stories I've heard from the other victims, I'm starting to think this guy is maybe mentally unstable or has some sort of mental illness if he's doin' all this s**t (if what people say is true). I'm thinking that his 'business' is actually in fact running some sort of scam here to get credit card numbers, because in one call I remember him yelling at saying 'What hotel are you at?' and giving multiple false aliases in an attempt to trick me. These guys just called and now they are into Security systems for the home

Several calls from this number. Did not answer or call back.

4 calls in the last 72 hours. I called the number back and got a message to press 1 to be placed on that company's do not call list. So I pressed 1. Probably just agreed to buy a cruise.

I didn't answer, 2 call attempts in last two days so far.

Hey everyone, with the help of my local police department in Tuscon, AZ, I've proceeded to trace the harassing phone calls down to a business in Belmont, Massachusetts. I've discovered information about the owner of the establishment via google and I'm in the process in filing a law suit against this guy. From my research I've discovered, his name is Chris Perron and it appears he's pissed off a lot of other people and business owners (according to negative feedback on his Merchant Circle account as well as other places). You guys can even see it for yourself, just type the guy's name (Chris Perron) and the business (Datboys Data Recovery) into a google search engine, you can see that guy has got some serious problems and definitely needs psychiatric help. So long story shot, if you have also been receiving death threats and harassment from this guy like I have then please contact me via email so I can link you with some references to put this creep to a stop and end the harassment. By the way everyone, Satan destroys his own!

Stupid Morons! These idiots think we're going to buy into their little scam merely because they use a different Caller ID name and number? Do they have any real brains at all? Just changing the name and number and keeping the exact same load of bs they originally dished out to scam people is the most assinine thing I have ever encountered in my life! It's like a telephone equivalent of that totally way overused nigerian email scam. Only difference is its a loan mod scam (that's been around since at least 2009)! Same d*mn thing! Sadly, with such type of scams so prelevant these days we all might ditch the phone system all together. Service Providers (lie (ATT) won't do anything, the FTC and FCC won't do anything, the NDNCR has turned into a joke, our govt. won't do anything and local law enforcement can't ... these days anyway! This totally sucks!!!
