Keeps calling my cell.
Going to lower credit card rate, Problem is don't have one .. A SCAM!!
This is a recorded message from "Rachel at Card Services" They are using multiple numbers for the same recording. Will register another incident at donotcall.gov.
Received a call, same as others have reported - recorded msg from "Rachel" offering lower credit card rates. I pressed 9 and was connected with a rep named "Michelle". Very poor connection, I could barely hear her. I played along, giving phony info - I asked on which card I could receiveva lowered interest rate, to which she answered (as expected) "American Express, Discover,
Mastercard, or Visa". She then asked for my zip code and average interest rate. I gave a fake zip and said about 22%. She then asked for a card number and the last four digits of my SSN for "the database", at which point I hung up. I probably should've faked some numbers just to see how far this goes, but.... I think we all know what a scam this is.
Call from a cell phone to my cell phone, very annoying caller. no way to call back.
Keep getting calls from recorded Rachel, wantong to lower my Credit card intrests. Its a scam, perosn on end told me he could not remove me from list and I wuold get another 80 calls just like this one. Called phone company but number is not one thats allowed to be blocked. Person in call center in another country. Beware its an area code 419, not 800....You cannot call number back it rings, and then goes busy. Ai am telling all about this fraud! Hope the Govt can catch them and get us all justice. I too am on Do Not Call list, but it has made no difference to these people.
called number back 2 minutes after recieved call, and verizon said, number has been changed or disconected. Scam. Call was from land line in Lima, Ohio
Call and leave no message. Bothersome.
They call from a different number every week. I block each number but they still get through with alternate numbers. Very rude people too. Refused to take me off their list even when asked and told them I am on the DNC list. Bastards. Been going on for over a year.
Thanks for the info on the "scam" company. I think I actually spoke with these people last summer and told them to get lost. Word of advice to folks, if you don't know the number on caller ID then let it ring. If we wanted what they're selling then I'm sure we'd give them a call.
I picked up and hung up.
Well, "Seriously", it happened enough last year that the FTC shut down several credit reprice scammers and had to sue one to recover funds for some of the victims. The studies which emerge every so often show Americans in general remain far too lax about data security.
Would anybody in their right mind, ever give personal information to anyone who calls them? Especially to someone you don't know? Seriously??
Auto dialer called and identified itself as "Cardholder Services" and said it was about my current account. I chose option 9 to speak to a live person and when I reached one, he said it was "Awesome" that I wanted to talk to him. Until I asked him to identify himself and his company at which point he activated another recording with an awful "Say my name" line, and then hung up on me.
I have prepaid cell and this cost me money so if I find out the company name I will be sending them a bill.
claiming to be a credit card agency, i told them to remover me from their auto-dailer and that i wasn't intrested in them, very flakey outfit!
What legitimate business would be calling from a cell phone?
If you don't leave a message, you are not worth talking to. Ever.
Recording comes on saying Cardholder Services- Sounds like a Credit Card Interest scam
Called on 2/28/2011 10:43 AM Caller ID shows Cellular Wireless. I don't answer phone call from people I do not know. I have voice mail if they want to talk to me they can leave a message.
AnÂonymous
This call is from some sort of Credit Card place that says they can lower your interest rates on your credit cards you are to select 9 to speak with a representative I did and told them I was on the do not call list and wanted my number removed from there auto dialer as soon as I asked to be removed from there list they hung up I was speaking with Jason. I tried to call the number back and it says that it is a Verizon wireless number that has been disconnected or is no longer in use.
Caller ID says:
1 (410) 910-1903 OH, USA
I actually selected 9 to speak to an operator because I get these calls all the time. I asked her to please take my name off their list because I wasn't interested. Before I could finish, she hung up on me. I called the number back and it said it was a disconnected number.
recorded message offering to lower credit card rates. I hung up on them.
