How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Newspoint Media, or Your Voice Media - they call and say that they are from the Deocratic National Committee and want a monetary commitment, but when pressed for their real identity, they say that they are a company YOur Voice Media and swear that they are contracted by the DNC to do this work. They want financial info over the phone, and since its not happening from me, it is an annoyance. They could be completely legitimate, but they want something I'm not willing to give.
This was the first call I've gotten from them. I generally don't answer calls from unfamiliar sources, and this call didn't even wait for the answering machine to pick up at the 4th ring. Thanks to all of you who posted their experiences here. Now I can ignore their calls without worry.
I do not answer calls with unknown numbers or unknown ID.
I didn't pick up. It is probably a political fundraiser.
Called every night this week. When I answer, they hang up.
"Your Voice Media", is total harassment; it calls 2-3 times a day.
In addition to The Wilderness Society and NARAL Pro-Choice America, the Sierra Club also uses this scumbag.
This is total irresponsibility on their part. In the past, I have donated to all three groups, but that will end.
4 or 5 calls a week typically in the late afternoon or evening.
Thought you should know, Your Voice Media is a firm hired by non-profits to fundraise. They do not "plow" through numbers, nor are they scammers. They are a legitimate fundraising firm. Telephone calls is the most cost-effective and time-effective way to fundraise. There is nothing illegal about the operations of this firm, all of the employees are good, honest people just like yourselves, trying to get by. Yes the caller id, says Your Voice Medi, for some reason the a is left off. They are centered in San Francisco, California. If you wish to not be called, leave your number on the answering machine, they will ad you to the do not call list. If they are calling you, chances are it's something regarding an organization you have donated to, something you may very well care about, or the person they are calling for cares about. They are not trying to sell you diet pills or health insurance, it's not a customer service survey, it's the organizations that need you.
Caller ID says "CALIFORNIA". I answered the phone. A male voice asked for my wife and claimed to be "Tony Casino" and said that he represents "Amnesty International". He then refused give the name of the company that he was calling from and he refused to give his address. This is obviously some kind of scam. My wife (I have asked her) has never given out my phone number to any charity organization that she has donated to. So this telephone scammer certainly did not get her name and my phone number from Amnesty International. It is likely to be some kind of scam trying to get people's credit card numbers. We have received similar scam calls (apparently from other scammers) claiming to be "Emily's List" and "Kennedy Center", where they ask for my wife but call my phone number. So apparently this combination of my phone number and my wife's name has gotten onto some kind of nationwide scammer network. This started only about two months ago. Some of the scammers just hang up when a male voice answers the phone. This particular scammer is illegally using an autodialer and is ignoring the 2-second rule. Many times I have answered the phone when this scammer's phone number shows up on the caller ID, and there is no one there. These crooks have called about 20 times in the past two weeks. Hopefully I can get the real Amnesty International interested in finding them and prosecuting them. They are probably cutting into AI's revenue, to say nothing of what they are doing to its reputation.
The owner of Your Voice Media is William Tse. He's on Facebook. He lives in San Francisco. I went to high school with him (I found this site after Googling "Your Voice Media"), and if I can find a personal phone number for him, I'll publish it on every "who called me?" site I can find.
This scammer has now called five times in three days. This time I was there to answer the phone. There was no one there. The scammer is obviously using an autodialer and, as well as violating the DoNotCall list, is also violating the rule that someone must pick up the call within two seconds of when someone answers.
Obviously some kind of a scam. They have called my phone four times in two days even though I am on the DoNotCall list. I have filed complaints with the FTC for each call. Unfortunately, no one enforces the DoNotCall list so those complaints will not do any good.
Calls 2 or 3 times a day. Hangs up when phone is answered.
how do I stop their calls?? Iam on the do not call list.
Repeated calls from this number, ANNOYING!! I finally called it back and got message: thank you for calling Your Voice Media, if you are returning our call, please hang up and we will try you again later, HOWEVER, if you want to be placed on our no call list, please say your 10 digit phone number slowly, you will be taken off our call list in 24 hours... I left my number, we'll see...
A hang up - very annoying. I am on a DND list
Why you complain so much? Don't you know these people are hired by someone who got your number from someone who you gave money to? Call the org you gave the money to, tell them they should not rent/exchange your name. Then call the people who paid YVM to call you, and say "please don't call me for money". Then find something to do that makes you happy instead of steaming about a silly phone call.
I resent their calls. How do I make them stop?
They called asking for a donation to Team Obama. Sounded fishy when they wanted my credit card number over phone. When I asked if I could donate via the web site she said that would not be cost effective for the organization. Told her to call back tomorrow after I check them out - like that will happen.
Picked up the phone after 3rd ring, said "hello" and caller hung up.

No sound when I answered
I will follow the advice of Mike to cost them time.
Some sort of telemarketers for charities.
These scumbags annoy thousands of people & we must fight back.
The best way to fight back is to waste their time. Here's one way:
Telemarketers want to plow thru 1000s of numbers rapidly to find a sucker who'll talk to them. Slowing them up greatly lowers the number of suckers they can get who'll talk to them. All their calls are made by computers which decide if a real person has answered.
To slow them down: Simply pick up the phone & say "Hello?" Then put the phone down on the table (don't hang up) & walk away. Come back in 5 minutes & hang up. Must likely, their computer put a real operator who had to waste his time deciding when to hang up. If everyone did this, the telemarketers would go out of business.
Caller rings regularly. The phone rings 3 times, I don't pick up, and there is no voice message.
three rings and then they hang up...every time, 3 times or more a day!
Your Voice Media is California based telemarketing company who represents at least two organizations - The Wilderness Society and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
Started calling again, at least two times a day.
Have no idea who this is, did not answer the call.
