FIA Card Services - Bank America Collection Dept.
This is a legitimate Bank of America Call Center. The rep was very professional, not asking me for acct numbers or SSN info. He knew full details of my last 2 purchases on my BOA CC ... scammers don't know that info. Just to be sure I called BOA, and they confirmed that the rep i spoke with was a BOA Card Services rep, and was calling to adjust my credit line. I work in the CC industry and i double checked ... you can never be too safe. Take into account that the legite callers are just doing their job, and sometimes it's to help you out ... really. The reason they got my work #, is because of the annual credit report that CC companies run. Becasue i took this call, my credit line was readjusted & my rates were lowered.
Its a fraud trust me. Details would take too long to explain but couldn't verify their supervisor's identity to me. Next time they call you record the conversation.
Recd call 3/6/10 claiming to be with BOA. Person gave us the last four of two active cards with BOA and gave us 888-203-7840 to call back to work on getting our credit debt cleared up.
They started calling our house at 6:30 am. Not even legal!
I can't believe I fell for this. They left a message saying they were Bank of America and knew our names. They asked us to call 1-888-831-4181. Since we were not behind on anything I became concerned. They were so convincing that I verified my address and SSN. When they said they just wanted to "reacquaint" with customers and asked my income I said they were making me feel uncomfortable and they politely said goodbye. I call BOC and they could not verify either of those numbers. Now I'm paying for extra ID theft protection. (the caller ID should have been a red flag!) Geeeesh!
Have no worries, they do not ask for any personal information that may entitle you for any scam or harrasment. The call comes from Bank of America Card Services. I advise never to give account #, SS#, or adress over the phone to an unknown caller.
This is a credit card phishing scam. They identify your bank, say they are card services, and ask for your account number. A well orchestrated phishing scam.
This person woke me up on a Saturday morning asking for employment info. Seemed odd.
