Wish I could stop these calls. I am on the do not call list and still get calls. Have caller ID so I can see who is calling.

Spam Calls on behalf of the Red Cross.

This is one more reason to not donate to them.

Give your items to a reputable organization - The Salvation Army.

2012-01-03 01:19:46 UTCOllie

I call-block their number. Tired of their calls

2012-01-02 20:31:37 UTCJoyce Brumaster

This number is on my phone and I try to get it off and in the process apparently it dials and I get charged a .40 cent fee that adds up in a month............not know how to get it off my land phone.........

2011-11-30 23:45:06 UTCRichie

Just a pain in the butt

2011-09-16 00:05:32 UTCpaula

FYI it is the American Red Cross calling for donations of clothing and small appliances. As with the Vietnam Vets and others, the Red Cross sells your donations (or sends them) for those areas in need. They call me every month and every month I attempt to have something on the walkway for them. The name Merchandise Pic(kup) is true.

2011-08-31 14:31:46 UTCJules

They have called twice now, and I answer, and there is nothing there. It eventually disconnects. If this is associated with a charity, I would not want to patronize them.

2011-04-13 14:03:15 UTCBonny Sanders

I have had several calls from this number and as soon as I answer they hang up every time.

2011-04-12 00:40:41 UTCDC

Please stop calling us!!

2010-12-29 17:45:40 UTCmaddie

I've never answered, but finally wondered who they are and found this page. Thank you!!! Yes they are intrusive, but I am glad we now have Caller ID which has saved a lot of trouble. So sounds like it is for the Red Cross and this is NOT the way to get a donation; plus when you do donate to a worthy cause you are forever on their mailing list. I have preferred organizations to which I donate and that is it. Also I have heard if you ask anyone to remove you from the list they usually do not. Same with e-mail because some won't let you unsubscribe. The information age is upon us. Chill.

2010-12-17 01:11:01 UTCabc123

I have caller ID and a DND button on my phone. When I see the number come up, I simply don't answer.

2010-09-03 00:33:29 UTCmb

Trying to delete your number from their incidious web links results in (after you have filled in the page of nformation) "The submit code isn't correct" or server errors. Your request won't get processed.

2010-08-21 14:36:24 UTCCAT

This company is calling on behalf of the American Red Cross. They are exempt from the DO NOT CALL list because of their charity status. I've asked to be removed from their call list 3x with no success.

I found info online and I just faxed a request to (407) 846-6748 attention: Leslie Durant - it's not a fax number to be officially removed but I sent a note demanding to be removed since I also get auto dialed calls 24/7. For whatever good it may or may not do (will make me feel better anyway) I am also reporting to FCC because they have not previously honored my removal requests. Maybe this Leslie person will take note and pass it on to someone who actually WILL take care of it. I told her I was reporting to FCC and that my fax would be proof of request in writing.

I have no problem donating to charity - I do it quite often - both clothing AND money. But at MY choosing...and I totally resent being hassled and my requests ignored.

Thanks for letting me vent and I hope this helps others!!

Received a call- went to a website referenced earlier (clothingpickupflorida.com) and clicked on Contact Us. It displayed the following:

Merchandise Pickup Service
2930 Telegraph
St. Louis, Missouri 63125

Phone: 636-282-0000

Called the number, asked to be removed from the calling list and was transferred to another person. They asked for the number and name, and stated that I would be removed immediately. (This person [Traci] was very courteous and professional.)

I dont understand like they call like non stop they woke me up so early and nothing they dont answer we need to do something about this what do we do!! im very tired of this im going to do something about this LOOK PEOPLE I DONT WANNA DONATE! please its annoying and people out there I'm sorry to hear about you guys being annoyed..

2010-07-23 22:36:32 UTCEj

They wont stop calling im annoyed.....Who are they anyway?

2010-07-15 15:29:12 UTCBJ

They have called non-stop over the past two weeks. Every time I answer, there is no one on the other line. Really frustrating. How do I make it stop?

2010-07-09 13:03:36 UTCNancy

There is a silence when you first pick up because they use automated dialers, and it takes them a few seconds to pick up- but they ARE there. If you stay on the line and say hello a couple of times they will be there- tell them to take you off the list! That's what I did, they finally stopped calling! But they were mega annoying- had to block their number too.

2010-07-02 15:09:49 UTCDiane Rock

Is there any agency I can contact to join a class action suit against these people; they've been calling 2 or 3 times a day for over a year (I never answer)...always 2 back-to-back calls. How can they be allowed to harass people without there being a recourse to shut these nasty people down. After such treatment I wouldn't deal with this company if they were giving away gold...I and I'm sure many will agree, don't appreciate being harangued night and day...my hatred for them supersedes any supposed good them might be doing...frankly I doubt they do much I've a feeling they're just a con for reasons of their own, they were legit they wouldn't be so aggressive and mind the laws of the DNC list!!!

2010-06-24 12:29:41 UTCsally

They call everyday. Usually when we pick up the phone no one there.

2010-05-12 20:18:47 UTCMB

No message left. Has called 2 days in a row. This is a DNC number. Annoying.

2010-05-12 12:48:03 UTCCWalker

They continue to call my house too many times per month. I no longer wish to receive their phone calls.

2010-04-22 20:36:10 UTCKeri

I don't know if will help but I went to the website stated on their recording and found a contact number: clothingpickupstl.com, called and asked to be removed from the list - only time will tell if it actually does any good.

2010-04-09 13:03:17 UTCBettie

We are on a no call list as my husband is very ill from a stroke and they are calling before 9am.This is unacceptable. If I had a donation this would not be it now.

2010-04-02 03:58:17 UTCsolution

The solution to this irritating caller (merchandise pic, who is also bothering us and won't stop) is simple. It only requires that everyone being bothered cooperate. What we are going to start doing is simply answer the phone and tell them "sure, we have some items for you. Please send out your truck". After they've gone to the trouble, time, and gasoline expense, driving to our house, all they will find is a note on the door instructing them to take us off their call list! If 100's of people start costing them time, resources, and money for gas, I think they will then be forced to filter us out of their call list. Otherwise, we can just keep harassing them like they harrass us, except they will now be harrassd a LOT worse than us. It only takes a few seconds to put them on our "come on out" list. The only solution for them, is to not call us anymore. It only took two times doing this to an aluminum siding company who kept calling and they never called us again. Years ago, when we had dial-up, we also set up our AOL to dial this other company that wouldn't stop calling us. We replaced the AOL number in our setup, with the harrassing company's phone number instead. Then simply started an AOL session with repeat attempts enabled. This essentially tied up their phone to such an extent that they couldn't bother other people. After several days of this, they reported us to the phone company (which amounted to nothing). But, after that, they never called us again either. Problem solved. The bottom line is that, if these callers don't like this type of response, then they simply need to stop harrassing us when we tell them not to call again. It's very simple. Our phones are for OUR use, not theirs.

2010-03-03 00:37:07 UTCJennie

One of the comments said there was a link to these people on the Mid-Florida Red Cross site. It took a good bit of wandering around their website but I finally found it. I too was skeptical about the caller really representing the Red Cross, but now it appears to be legitimate. Here'sma link to the Red Cross page that has the link to this organization:
midfloridaredcross.org

2010-02-26 13:25:51 UTCJLS

If the comments are true about being a legitimate charity asking for donations, WHY DON'T THEY EVER SAY ANYTHING? I get calls daily, but they never leave a message or speak when I answer. How do they expect to get any donations?

2010-02-18 19:08:16 UTCDT

This is one of the most irritating companies EVER! A well-meaning neighbor contacted this company to pick-up items from her home for donation. She used this company because it picks up large items (as well as small ones) that are too difficult for her to haul to the local donation centers, herself. This company is located over an hour from where we live. Now, this company calls her twice each week, AS WELL AS ALL OF HER SURROUNDING NEIGHBORS AND NEIGHBORHOODS, to let us all know that "they will be in our area" for local pick-up of donations. Yes, they give you a receipt that YOU COMPLETE...(one of the reasons this lady likes the company, as she can exaggerate her donations, for tax purposes!!!) I have repeatedly asked this company to place me on their DO NOT CALL/CONTACT IN ANY WAY LIST, time and time again. I have reported it to all the famous sites that are supposed to stop such calls, etc. This has now been going on for me since August, 2009. It is now February, 2010. Yes, I am on the DNC List, as well. SO...BEWARE OUT THERE. PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG. THIS COMPANY IS LIKE AN UNBEATABLE CANCER THAT YOU CANNOT GET RID OF AND IT KEEPS SPREADING BECAUSE THE AGENCIES THAT DEAL WITH SUCH ARE NOT SHUTTING THEM DOWN AS THEY SHOULD.

2009-11-17 15:43:44 UTCMPS

Anyone who would like more information please feel free to contact us at info@charityclothingpickup.com or through the web site clothingpickupflorida.com. Also there is a link to our site through the midfloridaredcross.org. The Mid Florida American Red Cross web site.

2009-10-12 12:32:47 UTCDennis

After getting a call at 8:09am, I found this website. Then I called Merchandise Pic. They only have an answering machine. I was unable to speak with a live person. I left a message that if I get called again, I will report them as a nuisance call and do my best to see they are fined. I am on the National Do Not Call Registry.

2009-09-15 18:09:47 UTCCRT

Called at 2PM 15Sep and left no message. This company is a non-profit, partnering with the American Red Cross in Central Florida: clothingpickupflorida.com and in other locations throughout the country. Annoying they may be, but it is legitimate.

2009-09-14 13:10:18 UTCS

They say that they are from the American Red Cross and that the call is recorded. They ask for donations in form of clothes, toys or household goods. They come and pick up and leave a tax receipt.

2009-09-08 17:37:32 UTCC.

Got a call from this number once, picked up and they said a truck would be in the area and wanted to know if I had anything to donate. I said, "yes actually" and they then gave me a time of 7:00am that the truck would stop by the next day. A truck stopped by at exactly 7:05am and they picked up the bag of clothes I had at the door and left a blank receipt for me to fill out if I wanted for tax purposes. All fine and dandy except they called the next week, then the next, and the next. Random times, but it never stops. So it is legit, but once you give you will be moved to some priority list. I just don't answer anymore.

2009-09-07 22:14:00 UTCtom

who or what is this? no message left.

2009-09-04 21:56:08 UTCTodd

I don't think it is a scam. All they are asking you to do is leave something at the front door as a donation. It is easy to find out if it is, just call the Red Cross.

2009-09-04 21:54:14 UTCTodd

It is a charity organization asking for donations for the American Red Cross of Central Florida

2009-08-27 12:56:07 UTCAllan

Asked for my wife by name. When told she was not availible and asked if I could help, called said he would call back and hung up.

2009-08-22 14:45:54 UTCyeivi

They are a nuisance . They call at all times .

2009-08-19 13:21:31 UTCBucsbaby

We continiously receive calls from Merchandise PIC half the time they don't answer the one time they did they claimed to be from American Veterans and said they would have a truck in our area and wanted to know if we had anything to donate. They also call my Mom's number. They are really annoying!!

2009-08-14 22:18:08 UTCSandy

They hang up when I answer. No message when I don't. They have called several times this week.

2009-08-06 12:56:53 UTCterry holmes

have ask to stop calling but keeps on anyway

2009-07-03 22:41:19 UTCdigitalbeachbum

Claimed to be with the Red Cross, but I later remembered that The Red Cross is actually named The American Red Cross. I think it is a scam.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:

Click for call blocker
