YOU CAN COMPLAIN TO THE FTC IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TOLD THESE BUMS TO STOP CALLING YOU - IT'S ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO CALL YOU AGAIN, EVEN FROM A DIFFERENT NUMBER

HERE'S HOW TO SUE THEM:

Cardmember Services calls every day. They are so dishonest that they will not allow their name nor their number to appear on caller ID. When I press 1 to ask the criminal on the other end to identify him or herself they hang up immediately.

407-000-1515 has called me several times. I am on the do not call registry. My caller ID says that the Name
is Unavailable. They identify themselves as Card Services. They offer to lower your interest rate if
you press 9. How are these calls getting through if you are on the Do Not Call Registry. I am guessing another
hoax. I am going to block this phone number on my telephone. If you want to block a phone number, call your
telephone company and they will tell you how to go about doing so. For me, it is *60 and then put in the 10
digit tel.no that you do not want to get any more call from. 407 us a Florida area code. Lots of con men out there! Just hang up or don't answer your phone if you don't recognize the tel. number.

This sounds like a phishing scheme. An automated operator called to say they could reduce the interest rates on my credit cards to 6.8% if I press 9. After pressing 9, I was put on hold and asked by a guy that sounded middle aged, caucasian and half drunk if I still have my Mastercard or Visa credit card. I responded that of course I do, but he called me. He then asked if my balances were over $3000, to which I said no. He then hung up on me. My guess is he was trying to get me to say Yes to record that for something. We are on a do-not-call list, too, but that didn't deter them. My wife said she got one of these calls last week, but hung up on it.

2009-05-01 17:15:34 UTCmillie

Fla must not care what Co. locates in the area. The area code I get is is always 407.

2009-04-30 16:02:03 UTCRose

My sister and I both getting these calls. she doesn't even have credit cards. We are on the do- not- call list and shouldn't be getting these at all.

2009-04-29 22:34:59 UTCLeslie

Told me this was my last chance to lower my card card rate to 6.??% and that this was my last chance to lower my rate and to press 9 on your phone if you want to lower your rate. Yesterday I got a call from 407-000-6543 and I press nine. I got a female with an India sounding accent. She asked if I wanted to lower my interest rate. I stopped her and ask which of my credit cards she represented. She hung up.

I am getting all the same bull shit that everyone else is getting. Suggestion.............. I understand that hearing a "recorded message", and then pressing the pound sign repeatedly screws up their dialing machine. Wish it would work as well as a .45 Magnum!

2009-04-10 19:37:47 UTCBSM

APPARENTLY THIS IS A FORGED AND FRAUDULENT NUMBER. THE RECORDED ANNOUNCEMENT SAYS WE'R SORRY THAT NUMBER CANNOT BE COMPLETED AS DIALED, PLEASE CHECK YOUR DIRECTORY AND TRY AGAIN."

2009-04-10 19:13:37 UTCBSM

ON NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST.

2009-04-09 15:11:06 UTCBen

Same as all the below....This is my second call, the first time was rude, both time hung up on me after pressing 9 and asking which card. I too am on the Do Not Call list. It seems sad that we can't do more than just whine about it here. Maybe I'll try reporting it to the local news and see if they can do something.

2009-04-08 22:06:51 UTCColumbia SC

Got this call today on my cell phone. Pressed 9 to speak to a live person. Asked him which company he was calling from and he hung up on me. I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call list.

2009-04-08 21:25:02 UTCj nelson

Someone stop this nonesense NOW

2009-04-07 17:28:56 UTCWendy

I contacted the local sherrif and BBB. We'll see what happens next. We all need to take care of others more nieve and vulnerable to these types of theft.

2009-04-07 15:18:51 UTCJason

These people have called repeatedly. I'm on the Colorado and national no call lists. I get the automated recording with an offer to lower interest rates on my credit card and to press 9 ... both times I've pressed 9 I've been transferred to the same person. The first time I asked which credit card. She refused to tell me and hung up. The second time I asked to be removed from their list and she hung up without saying a word. I filed a complaint on the Colorado no-call website and with the Federal Trade Commission.

2009-04-07 14:59:08 UTCScott

3 calls in the past month. I asked the same questions and received Account Services as the company. Callers name was Nat and I could call them back at 800-visa-911. I am on the do not call list and have filed complaints each time on 407-000-1515 and 407-000-1919 both Fl on caller ID.

2009-04-06 19:50:27 UTCD Teich

Caller hung up on me when I insisted he tell me who paid him his salary. He wouldn't answer who he was working for--just kept saying "account services."

2009-04-03 16:26:12 UTCrobb

I am on national do-not-call list. Received five unwanted calls promising to lower my credit-card debt, which I do not have. Complained to Federal Trade Commission. They acknowledged many complaints, but will take no action until they receive a (nonrevealed) number of complaints. Called Colorado attorney-general consumer-protection office. They received many complaints, but said it is too difficult to take action. What is point of having nonenforced laws? One posting identified the culprit as USA Band, owned by Chase. Would like to confirm this. I would immediately withdraw my considerable funds on deposit with Chase.

2009-04-02 20:17:34 UTCDiane

Promo to reduce card rate to 6%. I punched 9 to talk to an agent, he asked for private info and I asked for a number to call him back. He refused and asked if I was interested, why was I being difficult. I hung up.
I got another call today.

2009-04-02 18:26:50 UTCKS

They called twice today with a prerecorded message stating they can lower my credit card interest rates to 6%. All I had to do was press 9. I did and spoke to the operator. I asked her which credit card company she was with and she said they were independent and could lower all my credit card balances. She was very polite. I told her I was not going to give her any information over the phone and asked that they stop calling me. She hung up midsentence. Obviously a phishing scheme - don't give them ANY information.

2009-03-31 21:59:40 UTCJT

I'm very tired of getting these credit card scam calls. We weren't home when the latest call came. No message was left on the answering machine, but I found the number on caller ID. Can no one stop them?

2009-03-31 19:14:48 UTCphil

Recorded sales call, says no problem with account

2009-03-31 18:18:46 UTCjoseph...

3/27/09 Same message as Ledge06320. Pressed 9 to tell him that I was on the no call list and he hung up. I agree. This is awful! At least I didn't get the vulgarity.

2009-03-27 19:13:45 UTCBob

Called @ 12:43om on 3/27 - left no msg.

2009-03-27 15:39:31 UTCLiz

Got a call from 407-000-1515 -automated recording said Cardmember Services, to lower your rate press 9--Man came on said his name was Matt ,do you have more than $5,000. on your card-told him I would,t answer questions because I didn't know who he was--he hung up on me.

2009-03-26 22:06:44 UTCS. Carney

After getting these calls for months, today I played along, trying to get them to tell me the name of the company or a phone number that I could use to call them back at my convenience. The caller identified the company as Card Member Services and said she could not give me her number. When I asked more questions about who she was with, she stated absolutely that "she was my credit card company" and therefore I was not on a "call list" and so could not be removed from one. It's an obvious scam. I just want the calls to stop.

2009-03-26 14:45:51 UTCBig Dee

Received a call @ 4:45 p.m. on 3/25/09. No message left. Do not recognize the phone number.

2009-03-26 00:21:24 UTCTom

Received call from this number at 10:25 on 3/16/09, didn't answer. forth call I've received from a number starting with 407-000. Looks like they are spamming the phone number, because as far as I can tell, there is no valid 000 exchange within the 407 area code.

2009-03-25 17:20:00 UTCDC

Pretty obvious scam, too vague and too broad of a net to be anything real.
Robo-dialer, asks you to press 9 to lower your card interest to less than 10%
Live attendant took my number after I asked to be removed from the call list.

2009-03-25 16:46:13 UTCJT

It isnt a charlotte area code.. charlotte would be a 704 area code, this is florid (IF it is a real area code anyway)

2009-03-25 04:52:16 UTCLedge06320

A recording implies that they are one of my credit cards and that 'it is my last chance to lower my interest rates', press 9 to talk to a rep. I did press 9 to ask them to remove me from their call list. They have been calling my home for months now, and have told me that they would remove me, that the request may take 'up to two weeks' and to 'expect more calls' until it went through. Now they are calling and when I ask to be removed, they just hang up. I've reported the number to the FCC, as they've been harrassing me for months now, and hope that others do too.

2009-03-24 18:21:53 UTCjnelson

same ole bull. Called this no. and a "operator" comes on says "I'm sorry the number is not in service at this time. Why can't just one person in this country do something with these idiots who love to play on the phone?

2009-03-24 11:14:17 UTCR.

These jerks don't give up, they keep calling and calling. I have sent numerous complaints to the FCC about them.

2009-03-23 16:39:21 UTCVicki

I didn't pick up, no message was left. I have no credit cards through these folks, so it's obviously a scam.

2009-03-21 00:39:01 UTCR.

They always call with this number, and she always tells us they can lower our intrest rate on our cards, of course, I just hang up, we are sure this is just a scam...

2009-03-20 21:50:08 UTCCactus Wren

Got the same recorded message Citoyen and Shannon did. I pressed 9 to speak to a live operator, she came on the line and said, "Good morning, are you interested in having your credit card interest lowered to X%?" I said "No, I'm asking you to place this number on your company's Do Not Call list." Her response: "Well, I could do that, but you've got eight hundred ninety-five other people to talk to. Have a good day" -- and she hung up.

If this is Cardmember Services, we have a credit card thru them. I will address that to them.

2009-03-19 14:32:14 UTCcitoyen

Recorded Announcement: "Hello, this is Card Member Services. There are no problems, currently, with your credit card accounts. It is important that you contact us immediately to find out about lowering your credit card interest rates..." (That's where I terminated the call.)

2009-03-16 22:15:30 UTCShannon

I received a call last week with a recorded message offering a last chance to lower my credit card interest rate to 6.99% - I held to find out who the company was and who specifically they were looking for. As soon as I asked exactly that they hung up.
Today I received another call, offering the same thing - again I did the same thing. This time the man said he was from Visa Mastercard Cardmember Services and was looking for Mr & Mrs (name withheld). I told him there was no one here by that name and his exact words were... " there is no Mr or Mrs (name withheld), the f***ing list is wrong. I will take this number off the list. Go f*** yourself ". I was appalled, what if one of my children had answered the phone? That is why I am desperately trying to find out who this is - if this is a legit company, I am determined to have that man fired.

2009-03-16 19:34:19 UTCScott

No message. Listed on my caller ID.

2009-03-16 15:24:47 UTCOlivia

No message. This is a NC area code.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
