How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

No messages, just dead air.
This call came in late in the afternoon - Did not leave a message on the machine.Caller ID showed "Credit Services" - in the lookup it is from Montana (I live in Kansas) and is evidently Verizon related.
Get this: tigerdirect.com
and this: phonetray.com
and use the phone numbers from the call log and from this site and never be bothered
by telemarters or scammers again! I do not work for either company, but this solution
works pretty well. I can't wait for the Pro version of Phonetray to come out because it
will have an online component that will check the number against a database of known
scammers.
This call came as a surprise, as I thought that Heather was working for various political campaigns. This was once again my last chance to lower my credit card interest rate to 'only' 6.9%.
Caller ID, didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.
What??!! You mean this isn't JOE Montana? I thought he was calling to ask for my autograph. Good thing I didn't answer!

406-720-2099 calling again....I've been receiving calls from the idiots for about a year I guess. I tried the opt out that doesn't work. I've blocked the number numerous times and they call from secondary numbers anyhow. These a$$clowns should be drawn and quartered for harassing people. They are scum.I would never use their services, I want nothing to do with their shister company and they're continually calling my pay as you go cell phone that is for business only. Any human that would work at a company like that, would have to be a moral degenerate and a sociopath.
I blocked the number.
I have ignored these calls for over a year. I finally got fed up and decided to answer to see if I could get someone on the phone. "Press 2 for more information, or press 1 to be immediately removed from our call lists." I press 1. The guy comes on the line already speaking saying "why should we take you off our lists?" I say "because I don't want to hear from you and my phone is on the DNC registry." He says "sir, the DNC registry only applies to sales and marketing calls" and then hangs up. Ha! Are you serious? Then what are these guys doing if they are not selling some scam? Good grief!
phishing scam asking for credit card information
Honk Honk. Blow me you jagoffs. Stop honking calling me!!
Credit Services - Advertising/credit card scam. Do not answer.
Calls frequently. Never leave messages. I swear, I'm going to disconnect the damn phone.
Credit Services calling - I didn't answer. I get so many of these kinds of calls even though I've been on the do not call list since it was started - for what good it does...
Called at 10:07 am. ID said Credit Services. No one on line, then hung up. Frequent calls. What good is the DNC list?
They where so rude they asked if my mother wanted to make extra money being a call girl get real people she is 90. ayway they said they had a list of girls in my area that perform sex acts at my home for 24.99 a half hour I ask to me they said no it would be a extra charge of 99.00 an hour. Then I hang up on them Sickos anyway..
This gutlesss wonder (a**hole) called at 2:27PM on 2/29/2011 did not leave a message. these clowns have called before and when I have gotten a chance to talk to them I have told them not to call again. But then when you have crainal rectitus (the condition of one having one's head in a certain body orfice) I am sure it is difficult to hear. Don't know any proctologists in Montana otherwise I would refer the gutless wonder. DNC here I come.
P.S. Verizon put a halt to this crap, I will never be your customer!
amazing that people who receive calls from outfits like this actually pick up the phone. even more amazing that many who pick up the phone fall for the pitch and give out account information to total strangers. then they whine and whinny after they learn they've been scammed into authorizing a $900 fee for an allegedly lower interest rate that will save them more than that. caveat emptor. don't pick up the phone. if you do, don't even answer if they ask "is this mr. smith?" stand up for yourself! it's nobody's business for anyone to call out of the blue and ask such information. tell them that! stop being a pussy and a pushover and look after yourself.
I spoke with Ryan, until I asked the name of the company. That's when he hung up!
I have received countless calls from these morons at two different numbers in Maine over a few years. Complaints have been filed at the national do not call registry almost every time, and absolutely nothing happens. Many thousands of other complaints must have been filed about these same people, to no avail.
I used to do the same thing with the junk mail except that I always exchanged one company's junk mail inserts for another's.
Companies only have to pay the "postage paid" postage if someone sends the envelope back.
Does anyone remember the Telezapper? We bought one of these form Radio Shack, probably ten or twelve years ago. It still works like a champ. We are also on the DNC list and don't get any one our home phone at all. Occasionally we get these clowns on our cell phones. I simply tell them I'll have to call them back, please give me your 800 number. I call and put them on hold and cost them the dime. (of coarse I never pick up the phone and their system will not cut you off.. so the charges per minute escalate for them)
Also, when you get junk mail from credit card companies you could acre less about. (Chase for example) I always open the junk mail, tear off my name and the PIN numbers on the paperwork and cram all of it back in the return postage paid envelope and mail it back to them. Sometimes they get my snickers wrapper, or used chewing gum or whatever trash is on my desk at the time. Easy and convenient way to harass them right back.
I have received a number of calls from this number and no one ever leaves a message. My caller ID indicates it is a cellular number. I also do not know anyone from Montana. If I did, they would leave a message.
I did not pick up as I don't know anyone in Montana. They did not leave a message. Tank goodness for caller ID.
Actually, John, based on the critical mass of complaints the FTC shuttered several of these credit repricing "Rachels" and "Heathers" in 2010. Keep piling on the reports to the FTC and attorneys general if you want to see more hang by their thumbs.
These are the same crooks that have been calling from spoofed numbers for years. It's an organized crime outfit that wants your credit card information. They ask the questions, and you answer. If you ask questions, they'll hang up on you and just keep calling you. It's illegal, but they don't give a shit because no one can stop them.
Called 11:03am. Left no message. Bunch of shysters.
Same as other people are saying. Recorded message telling me I can lower my credit card rate (I don't have a credit card). Once I get a person on the line they hang up as soon as I mention the national do not call list. They call every morning.
Called at 11:21am today, 2-8-11. No number I recognized on caller ID so didn't pick it up. No message left either.
This was the "urgent you call about your card", but "nothing wrong with your card message" I pressed one and asked who the company was, was told it was Chase, Visa and Mastercard (liar, liar pants on fire). I asked why they called when I was on federal no call list, told they didn't call me "the computer did", but I could call the number ont he back of one of my credit cards to complain. Fraudsters!!
Another scam?! Glad I didn't bother to answer!!

They called today 2/4/2011 at 9AM, answered and heard something about my credit score is fine, they can give me a 6.4% rate on whatever. I pushed the 2 button as instructed to stop future calls, guy with strong accent said, "Hello, how are you today?" and I said, "Who are you?" and he hung up. Hmmm. I blocked the number on my handy Panasonic phone, no more calls can get through.
SINCE IT WAS AN UNIDENTIFIED CALLER I LET THE MSG. MACHINE PICK IT UP BUT NO MSG. LEFT.
No one on the line when I answered.
Answered the phone, didn't speak...neither did they.
Called today, I let it ring out. 800 notes says it's a dredit card scam.
