Who Called Us

Thanks JETH, I have just installed Phone Tray Free it sounds good and like the features. This I hopes keeps the unwanted calls to a minimum or at least not coming in at all. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST and I do get less calls than I use to. Usually creditors will ask for my last four digits of my ss number because they say my first and last name are so common...well I do not owe any money except to my mortgage company and I know when they call its not me. I never give out any info I don't care who calls. Hope this program will give me some peace and rest. Thanks again.

Another way to get rid of them.... "IF" you have a computer on all the time, and "IF" you have a modem attached to that line:

There's a freeware program called Phone Tray Free (there's also a paid version), that will screen your calls for you and give them a customized message before hanging up. You can even include the phone company tones that simulate a number out of service.

The program keeps a log of all incoming calls, and you can see if there are any repeat offenders. I seldom see anyone call back once they have been zapped by this program.

Pressed 2 to have my number removed from their calling list. As I spoke, was disconnected (they hung up). Reported to Do Not Call Complaints.

Recorded message: "Calling about your credit card (which card not identified). Nothing wrong with your account AT THIS TIME. But, we can help you reduce your interst rate. Press 1 for a live operator." Entirely BOGUS since people at this number no longer have credit cards! We are also on DNC list.

406 Area code is Montana. Ona another website, someone reported that this was a telemarketer from Capital One, offering a great credit card rate

Pressed 2 to be removed from their calls. A woman came on the line and I told her to remove my number as I am on a DO Not Call list. Guess they get by this as it is from a cell phone. We should be able to report these cell phone numbers to the FCC.

Caller ID says "Credit Services". Recorded message says Account Services from my credit card company offering a low interest rate. 100% garbage. Scam. I'm on DNC list.

These assholes have been calling me and hanging up for weeks. What a bunch of loser assholes.

Stupid pre-recorded message telling me I could lower my credit card interest rate and to press 1 if I was interested. I pressed 1 and the foreign-sounding person answering asked if I wanted to lower my interest rate. When I told her that, no, I wanted my number removed from their call list, she hung up on me. I filed a complaint at the Federal DNC website.

I answered by saying "hello" twice, whereupon the caller disconnected without ever having spoken. I called back and there was an AVR system which said something like:

"Thank you for calling back. if you are not interested in receiving calls regarding our special promotions and would like to be placed on our do-not call list, please press one."

I tried pressing 2 and it disconnected me. I called again, pressed 0, and was disconnected again. I called a third time, pressed 1, and it said "thank you" and disconnected.

Recorded message, "This is Heather of Credit Services." blah blah blah, your accounts are in good standing, but we can help you lower your interest rate. Yeah right.
I pressed the 1 key to be connected to the next agent, and asked them to remove me from their calling list. Then they hung up on me.

Next time I will act interested, and get a phone number to call them back at beside this phony 406-478-2002

I will not answer calls from people I do not know. SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT !!!!

14 August 2010: female voice says she is from "Account Services" and wants to talk to me about my account. As the news folks always say, account folks will NEVER call you on the phone. Just hang up.

Wireless Call from Sidney Montana ...on phone they say "Cardholder Services...last call to lower interest rates." Not a company I have ever done business with. I am on Fed DNC list...when I pressed 2 to be removed from their phone list, a live person answered and asked who I was...hung up....it was a robocall...they didn't know who I was already so I wasn't going to give them information they didn't already have.
