they have been calling off and on for a few months now leaving vm to reduce interest rates on credit cards. Today they spoke to my spouse. He said we would call back later. i did call them back. Spoke to the same person as earlier. Would not commit. Said we would think about it and call back by around 7:00pm. Was told that would be 6:00pm where caller was calling from. When we did not call back by 6:30pm, they called us back again. My daughter was home and told them we were out. Wonder what tomorrow holds in store!! I expect they will call back again.
Again & again & again...If I let it go to messages they hang up!
female voice said i am calling not because there is anything wrong with your credit but that I could get a rate of 6% just by dialling 9 now. I *73'd the number before hanging up.Would some one please stop this person/people!
Said it was Shawn from Credit Card Consumer Advocate and that I was entitled to a 6% reduced interest rate on my card... he then proceded to ask me to "confirm" the information on my card!!!! When I asked him to repeat which company he was calling from, he started getting upset!! I hung up and called my bank... they said this was a SCAM and that if I had given my info, I would have started to see a bunch of things charged to my card!! Never give any credit card information over the phone!
A repeated loop: please press 9 to talk to a representative.(no action taken)
Left an automated message on my VM. Female voice telling me about getting better credit card rates. Scam!
an automated recording was left on my VM advising me of my credit card... blah blah blah... lower rate...
scam.
Said that in regard to my "CIBC TD Scotiabank Royal Bank" Visa card by Canadian law I was entitled to a lower interest rate. Clearly a scam. Caller did not identify which bank my credit card was with and wanted me to verify and supply details regarding card expiry date, balance and best of all... is the card credit in good standing.
Male voice, foreign-sounding accent. Poor sound quality with call centre background noises.
