this number said CONVERGYS CORP on my phone. I didn't pick up.

2 Nov 2011 -- 7:22 pm -- Caller ID said "convergys corpo". No message was left.

Picked up after the 2nd ring, said hello, the caller said nothing.

They did not leave a message.

No message. Just happened to check out if anyone called and this was this name and phone number on my phone.

had a missed call but no message in the answering machine. I am posting because my ID caller shows them as a management career place.

Just called and hung up before answering machine kicked on.

Received 2-3 calls from them in the past year... problem is.. I am in Canada.. why the heck do they call me there??? and.. how the heck did they got my phone number???

Called us at 7:10 p.m. Female voice said she was calling to ask questions about people who use online pharmacies. We have NEVER done that. I hung up. We are also on the National Do Not Call list. A lot of good it does.

They said they were from a grocery store survey

They've also called me about 3 times in the last two weeks, don't leave a message though. Tonight they called me at 8:45pm (Mountain time). Don't think I'll be answering if they can't leave a voicemail.

I keep getting calls from these people. Caller ID says "Omaha NE 402-491-2800". Problem is they never leave a message on my answering machine, they always hang up. So I don't know what the hell they want from me. It doesn't make any sense. Why call someone if you're not going to say anything?

there is no way for these people to stop calling guys. Do not call register or anti telemarketing call law is just for TELEMARKETERS/SOLICITORS, not for telephone surveyors. If u try answering these unknown calls, they will try to explain that they are not under this law. One effective way to stop them is to answer the phone and tell them right off to put your number on their do not call list. There is no other way! trust me!

Convergys Corp handles many accounts and they are across the globe. They take surveys based on your last placed call to their client. After receiving 5 missed calls from them on my phone, I ended up talking to a lady to personally know why they keep on bugging me at night. She explained it to me well and apologized for calling and hung up.

Called ID showed number, no name. On answering, a person came on, I'm unsure, sounded like MSRI, said they were condcuting a survey of shopping habits. Called my landline at 8PM, but my landline was forwarded to my cell; they said they'd remove my number from their list.

I might have to call the number back and leave my number which will be the number for the FBI in Omaha, NE (402-493-8688) now that would be funny if they called that number. Maybe we all should call them back and leave the number for the FBI.

I would love to ask this caller to remove me from thier call list, however there is never anyone on the line when we answer! Irritating!

Received call to my cell phone. When I answered the call dropped. I called the number back and got a recording saying it was Convergence Marketing Research Corp., Inc. an that they do not sell anything, but do market research. They said I could leave my call back number to participate in a survey or speak to a manager. I left my call back number telling them to remove me from their calling list. I also reminded them that calling a cell phone, unsolicited, even a market research firm, is illegal. And all future calls from them would be referred to the FCC.

I got a call from this number. I am familiar with the company the man said he worked for and all he did was ask a few questions for a survey on how my recent eye exam and eyeglass purchase went. They do not ask for any personal information just yes or no questions and also for you to rate the services you received on a scale from 1-5... trust the number.. it's only a 2 minute survey to help with the companys data. Convergys has employees who work for all kinds of companies to do sales and survey for company data. Support them and take a quick survey, no harm done.

Just received a call from this #. Said they were calling from Blue Cross/Blue Shield and asked for me by name. Because I have insurance through BC/BS I responded. As soon as

Female caller said we had called them the day before using our home phone regarding Direct TV. We did not call anyone concerning Direct TV and have no idea what this was about. They called at 7:55 p.m. on a Monday. She apolized for disturbing us and that was the end of the call.

Conoco Mastercard calling to conduct a survey on their customer service when i talked to them about a week ago about a late payment. Strike one for calling me at 8:30 at night to ask me about something i had already taken care of.

I got a call from this number at 11:21 am Saturday the 18th but did not answer. When I called it back it was Convergys Marketing Group and they said they were non-sales and survey related. After listening to the message they said to tell them via voicemail your number to be removed; of course their mailbox was full.

These guys call me almost every day and never leave a message. Die, spammers, die.

Receive calls on our land line several times a day. Caller ID says Convergys Corp. Calls late at night, after 9 p.m. and I'm usually asleep since I have to work at 4 a.m. I filed a complaint with the "do not call" registry (I'm on the list) and suggest we all do the same to make these calls STOP: donotcall.gov

Its Convergys Knowledge Services. When you call the number they claim they are not invloved in any type of sales. They allow you to leave your name & number if you want to speak to a "manager". I choose not to.

There seems ro be some misconceptions about telemarketers and the DNC list:
1. If you apply for credit of any type, ask for information about a product, or show an interest in any service and leave your phone number you give permission for them to call.
2. Surveys do not fall under the DNC requirements
3. You must update your number on the DNC every 6 months.
4. You must ask specifically to be taken off the company's call list. Do not call here does not apply and they will call again.
5. The telemarketer is allowed to call from 8am to 9pm your time, not theirs!
6. If the telemarketer connects with the answering machine or voice mail, they are told to mark it as such, hang up and try again later.
7. If you tell them not to call or tell them you are on the DNC list, all they are allowed to say is "ok" and hang up
8. call the company specific and request that they take you off their call list. The National list is generalized and one request to any company initiated by you online, by mail, in person or by phone will nock you off the list.
These are just some of the things telemarketers have to do. They do have rules to follow, most times the calls they make are in fact initiated by the public and you all don't even know you have started it.

Got this call in the morning about 9:00AM EST. Called back but it just hung up. It's from Nebraska and having lived there for 10 years I know that omaha is the telemarketing capitol of the world. Seriously there are more telemarketing companies there than than anywhere because of the abundance of fibre optic lines that were installed there back in WWII making it very inexpensive to set up shop there.

Just got a call from this # 402-491-2800 (convergys corp) on my caller Id, Nov- 07. After reading all of this. I have hit *57 on my phone. This traces the last # that calls you, & after 3 traces, the phone company will send them notice of harassment. (my phone company charged $2 fee to trace) just found that out, so you may want to contact your provider first, but for me, this may be worth it to put a stop to this, quick!

These calls are driving me nuts! We have no peace!!!!!!!!! I am on the Do Not Call register and report these calls daily as they occur. Will this ever end? I am so tired of all these annoying calls. We had to buy caller ID phones to protect us and now we don't answer any of these telemarketing calls but they still keep coming.

They call every night around 11pm but the phone rings twice then stops before I can pick up. Its creepy and its pissing me off!

And on another note, collection agencies don't have to abide by do not call lists, because technically until you don't owe them money anymore, you are considered a client and they can call you up to three times per day as long as it is (I believe I'm correct with the times, but don't hold me to it) after 8am and before 9pm your time... that would be the time zone of the area code they are dialing, so if you live on the west coast, but have an east coast phone number, they can wake you up at 5am with their calls, but shouldn't be calling after 6pm...

This is a collection agency called Convergys Corp, the subsidiary of which is Encore Accounts Receivable Services in Omaha Mebraska. They do collections work for larger financial institutions such as banks and insurance companies.

Who is this? They seem to call me daily.

"No-sales" marketing research company. Called twice. When I answered the 2nd call, they hung up. I called them back and got an automated system that only lets you leave a message.

I just want to let you know something about the Do Not Call registry.

Any calls regarding sales while on the DNC registry are prohibited.

But any non-profit, or charity, or surveyors, etc etc, are permitted to call you.

The magic word to be removed from the list is "Take me off your calling list."

"Don't call here again" is not the same. A specific request from you to the agent must be made to be removed from the list.

My problem is the same as everyone elses. I also get the same kind of calls from these #s.613-226-4730 and 805-567-0153

It's nice to know that the do not call list means virtually nothing...

They were doing market research on pharmacutical purchasing habits. I told her I was on the Do Not Call list and she said they weren't telemarketers. Then when I said she called my cell phone she quickly apologized and said she'd take me off the list.

I am not sure if ya'll are aware of it, but if they are doing a survey...as long as they are not trying to sell you anything The Do Not Call list does not apply. It is only for phone solicitors. I received a call last night, but did not answer it.

Femal caller asked to speak to a male employee who hasn't worked here for a long time. When told this, she said "OK, thank you" and hung up. Rcvd this call directly before another one where almost the exact same conversation took place. Except that one came from 201-843-6464 and it was a man asking for a female employee who hasn't worked here for a long time. Both callers sounded very nervous. Strange.

I received a call on my cell phone from this 402# today saying they were doing a survey for Citi Bank Diamond Credit cards. I am on the do not call list and I find these calls most annoying.

We're on the do not call list. So I went to donotcall.gov as others here have done, and filed an online complaint. Suggest everyone does the same and something may just get done about it.

If you are being bothered by these idiots, get a Telezapper. It works! If you have an answering machine, set it for 2 rings, then you will "zap" them. Oh yeah. Telesleezes are prohibited from calling cell phones! Even if it's "market research."

My Caller ID just said "Nebraska." I don't know if that's where the area code is or what. They claimed "survey" and "exempt from opt out." I told them that they were NOT exempt from the law requiring them to remove my number on request, and I am requesting!

They keep calling saying that I called Nationwide insurance on 7/31 and they need to talk to me, but I did call to make a payment on y husband policy with my credit card so, I have no idea how they got my info, but Nationwide dont suposed to give my info to anybody... These folks called our house SUNDAY night at 8:00 p.m. We have caller ID and didn't pick up. Showed as Convergys Corp. Apparently "they are a Direct Marketing Service that provide promotional messages to potential customers." They certainly have a lousy way of marketing services!

I am receiving a call from this number at least once daily. The wife thinks I am having an affair because the call disconnects after 2 rings.

Have started receiveing calls on CID as 402-491-2800.After checking out their website and the above comments I think they can call you if you are on the Do Not Call List. Here's why. They do outsource management for companies that you most likely have contacted for various reasons. That means you have a relationship with them through your primary contact and most likely you gave that primary contact your phone or cell number which makes you an exception to the do not call list. Recently apply for a job with a firm, apply for insurance, apply for credit? They work for big healthcare companies (Aetna). large drug Companies (Pzifer), etc. etc.

This number is Citibank. THey called for a follow up from a previous conversation to see if we had received good service

I just received a call about my credit card. They wanted to know why I called my credit card company the other day. I told them that I didn't remember and they hung up. I think they are trying to scam us!

Just received a call at 8:30 pm EST tonight from this number inquiring about whether I called a Visa credit card representative 6 days ago. (Note: My Visa credit card was stolen approx. 1 month ago.) When I replied that I only called in mid-April to report that it was stolen, they were quick to end the call. I promptly reported said call to VISA's 1-800 number. BEWARE: I think this is a scam artist attempting to get personal information.

Today, they've been calling me in the phone of my boyfriend. I scare because they've my phone but in this ocasion, call my boyfriend and questioned about me. They call me almost everyday and don't leave a message.

I just received my first phone call. The caller ID said NEBRASKA. Approximately 1/2 hr before that I received a call that said on the caller ID YPOR and their # is 414-208-1035. I didn't pick up either because I'm trying to stop answering the phone if the ID isn't familiar or if it says unavailable. It cuts down on calls from people trying to sell you something, and if it's that important they'll leave a message.

Call came from convergys.com, a company who studies customer buying trends. Call them and tell them to put you on their "no call list."

The Do Not Call listing program facilitated by the federal government is working so well that the telemarketers have to do something to subvert the system. The now stoop to the practice of phoning number they know are on the list, but instead of saying anything, they are silent on the line for a while then hang up or, if they get an answering machine, voicemail, or the line has caller ID, they hang up and hope that the party they called will return the call to inquire about the call or to ask that their number be removed from the company’s call list. What then happens is, when you file a complaint through the fed’s via the Do Not Call complaint process or you contact your attorney generals office, the company says that you called them and, pursuant to the rules of the Do Not Call law, if you call them they have the right to call you. Basically, your number no longer qualifies for the restrictions established by the Do Not Call law. Bottom line; NEVER call these companies back. If you receive a telemarketer call, check the number by using this site to verify that it is a telemarketer then go to the Do Not Call website and file a complaint against the company. After you file three complaints showing the company has phoned you three different times, the fed’s do something, I am not sure what, but the phone calls will stop! After all, that’s what you want right!

I can not believe these idiots would call on my cell phone and ignore the do not call list. What puzzles me is how they got it as I only give that number to a few friends and family. I will report them.

I noticed this number on CID, unknown name. I did not answer. No message left. I don't know anyone in 402 area code. I am listed on Do Not Call List, but this doesn't stop this type of call.

I received a call to my Skype number, which I picked up in China at 11:40 p.m. I ignored the call, and no message was left.

This is a SCAM! The first couple of times they called me, I missed the call. Well, I tried to check out the number and found this site. Tonight, they called me again and when I answered, a woman asked for me and said she was from Citibank. I said "This is a scam, do not call this number again". She just said, "Ok", then hung up. If it was legit- they would not have reacted in that fashion. I bet they would have asked me to verify my account number or something.

I get calls on average once a week from these clowns. They don't leave a message, just 2 minutes of background noise and somebody typing on a computer. They must get paid based upon how long they can keep somebody on the phone.

They called on my cell at 8:40 pm on Saturday...left no message...I missed the call and only saw it later.

Just cleared my caller id box of about eight calls from this number with Convergys Corp. as identifier. On no-call-list, with unlisted number. Automatic dialer?Need to put a 'stop' to this. Contacting state AG for some action/retribution.

I was just using this site when I saw this companies name. My husband used to work for Convergys. It owns call centers all over the country. They do billing, customer service, and technical support for many big name companies so they may have called you all for differant reasons and for differant companies. Here are some of the big name companies they represent...

AT&T,Compaq,hpshopping.com,Pfizer Pharmaceuticals,
Sprint,Toys 'R' Us, Cingular Wireless,
Time Warner Cable, DirectTV, Dupont, Whirlpool, Kmart,and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts...that is just a few of them.
They used to also do Microsoft and SBC Yahoo DSL but they lost those contracts. The companies chose to send the work to India.

They have many locations all with differant companies they represent. As you can see they could have called you for any number of reasons.

I am getting the same type of calls. Random times and no message left.

They just called my cell! I did not answer as I did not recognize the area code. Now that I read all of this I am glad I didnt!

I am on the do not call list. They called us at 8:30 at night. I think there is supposed to be some official cut off where they are not supposed to call anyone past either 6 or 7 PM. I am not sure on that though. But 8:30 is way too late. We have a way to block numbers on our phone so they will be blocked immediately.

12-09-2006, caller ID said 402-491-2800, nothing else. called me in Maryland, on my cellphone. this is illegal and i want to know where they got the number.

Received 4 calls in the evening on Saturday, December 9th. The machine or person on the other end hangs up when I answer.

I'm glad I found this service. Just received a "missed" call from this number on my cell phone! If they call back, I'll tell them what I think about charges for this on my cell phone bill!
